I am thankful for Indian people. They teach us that we don't have to eat meat to eat great and they use many spices that make food taste great without using typical western dressings that are unhealthy and fattening and, in my opinion, plain tasting or disgusting.
I get all my indian spice from Indian square in New Jersey ( Patel Brothers ) Love the people of India. Their food and culture. Lots of love from Alexandria Egypt 🌹♥️🌹
Thank you for the wonderful videos, including the how to stock your pantry for Indian cooking. Very informative! I want to make more vegetarian selections, so I will give your lovely recipes a try.
hi bhavana... i am fan of your cooking channel...i really love all your recipes and how organised they are.. ..if possible can you make a video like what are essential for indian cooking i mean utensils, hand blender,kadai`s....like smart things you have to cook..where you buy them...like a begginers guide..thought it would be interesting to know ...
I was inspired as I have admired the spice boxes of others. I shopped around and finally found a smaller but nice version of the spice tins at World Market for under $10. I look forward to future parts to this series!
Thank you for such a thorough video. I was actually sitting with notebook and pencil, writing down everything you said. Very useful and clear explanations.
Wow. Very impressed! Thank you young lady for such an easy to understand and informative video. Can't wait to watch more of your videos and learn more about your lovely cuisine. What part of India are you from?
perfect! I have mine already but this would have been sooo welcomed before I did! I learned more things-- I so appreciate the explanation of use for dry mango powder and the chat masala
Bhavna Ben Apri champion!! Thank you sharing this masi! I just moved into a new place and am setting up in Florida! You’re tips are extremely helpful!!
I really recommend for anyone wanting to buy spices to always buy from a indian grocery store, rather than super markets like tesco or asda. That way, you are directly supporting indian businesses. Same with anything really ❤
Can you tell the ingredients and the proportion of the various items used to prepare the different masalas, so that we can prepare even those at home. Atleast the ones which are possible.
Wow! Thank you very much! ♥ Looking forward for your paste recipes. Talking about spices, yesterday I bought asafetida, curry leaves, caraway seeds, maca, and restocked green cardamon...
Hi Bhavna very good and much needed video with good presentation; my congratution. Bhavna I keep my Hing in original bottle and then put that bottle in a freezer bag. Is that a good way to keep it. If you know of any better way to keep hing please let me know. I like to know this because of strong hing flavor it mixes with the other spices flavor, taste, and aroma. As always ashirvad to you and your family.
I've been vegetarian my whole life and I LOVE Indian food and would love to cook more of it. But isn't quite expensive to make all these dishes every day?
I'm a newly Wed girl. I'm setting up my house in a different city away from both our families. And everything needs to be set up from the scratch. Your how to stack up for Indian cooking helped me so much. Thanks and I love you.
I really enjoy your videos you have a real sweet personality , thank you for sharing your ideas. I'm using a lot of the spices that you show. Can you make a video on how to use the mixed blends of spices. I see pretty good size bags in the ethnic isles of the grocery stores but I do get confused on what to buy. I make my own base for beans buy mixing my own blend.

Bhama. I have seen curry powder in the grocery stores. Am I right in thinking that it is a combination of all the spices you use but already mixed up like gram marsala (excuse my spelling). I noticed you don't use already mixed curry powder. Is that because the curry powder is not an authentic taste to Indian cooking? Thank you. Marie.
Thankc !🙏🙏🙏 great ttips! I been wishing a while to go to the store : and I haven't 😩 I also make chicken marsala : once it didn't come out VERY GOOG : BUT I EAT IT😂 SO I WILL GO SHOPPING BEFORE I TRY ANY INDINS RECIPES 🙏🙏🙏❤️ LOVE IT
Hi, thanks for the information in your video! I love a garam masala curry paste hot cinnamon & ginger from Patak's brand, do you have any paste recipe to get close to that taste? Is my favorite!! Sooo gooodd! Best food in the world! indian food= great party in your mouth
Hello Chef Why we use whole spices in some recipes? cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, especially in Asian cuisine, Biryani for instance. doesn't grind it make them more aromatic and tasty?? Thank you, Chef
Methi leaves you can use for making fritters and frittatas. Methi seeds are used for tempering/seasonings the lentil curry(daal) and in some vegetable curries. We use methi leaves in making Indian flat breads (methi thepla) also.
no...most super spices are not necessary.ordinary spices in an indian shop do fine and are actually same thing and more natural as they come from villages in india...not much chemicals etc ..they will account for a tiny fraction of the total cost as little is used per meal. Most expenditure comes from vegetables ,or worse meat (which technicaly speaking should not even be in a hindu diet)

Yes, I use most spices everyday. Just take out them amount you can finish in about 2-3 weeks.
Which blender in best in USA for spices
I heard spices are much cheaper if you buy them at an Indian grocery store.
Thank you so much for this. I've been a home "chef" for years, and wanted to expand my repertoire. This gave me the basics I need.
