- The 2019 season kicks off with the roar of the largest group of 1967 Era cars the Southeast Gassers has seen to date. After a 2 week rain delay the crowds were out in full to see some records fall during an afternoon of intense racing.
Thank you - Thank you - Thank you for working so hard to share the BEST Gasser Racing with us all. God Bless each and everyone one!
Glenn Hayes if this doesn’t take ya back I don’t know what does
Got to attend my first gasser race at shadyside in April and I'm hooked I love this style of racing I'll definitely make the journey from Ohio and come back
Josh thanks so much for the support. So glad it was worth the trip to see our style of racing.
~Quain Stott~
I'm raising my glass to this season's first SEGA race!! All of us fans in other parts of the country/world REALLY appreciate the time and effort you guys take to record, edit, and upload these races to RUclips!! BIG FAN here in the Pacific Northwest. Let's GO!!!
Way to go guys this is the best racing I've been looking forward to this all winter long I just saw the first race of the season I'm so excited I'm from Vancouver Canada and I'm not religious but thank God for you guys and be safe keep the rubber side down the shiny side shiny
5th SEGA race I have attended, and they just keep getting better and better. Awesome racing
Quick draw with the video for Week 1 thanks guys we appreciate the upload
Great to catch the first race of 2019. Keepem' straight brothers.
Awesome race ! Love gassers ! Congratulations to my neighbor from Land O’Lakes Florida for winning A/G
I was looking forward to this and it didn't disappoint ... thank you so much SEGA from here in the UK, may I ask (but not criticism) is it possible to bring the engine sound up when the cars leave the line? I think age and hearing are creeping up on me!
Eric O'Hara I would like the same
Personally would like to see a better camera angle past the tree up higher a bit. You don’t get much of a feel for the racing behind the cars, nor seeing the front ends in the air. Last seasons videos were perfect. Keep up the good work guys!
Thanks for the comment. Shadyside is a just little too narrow to put a camera in the middle down the track. We opted to leave it off this time for safety. We had one down the track for the race in London though.
Really like the SS class, hope more can join the SEGA races. I was in highschool when Merc came out with that '64 and '65 Comet design and have been a fan since then. Cudos to Mark and his Caliente!
Cudos John & Maggie,, great story AND I'm betting there's some more folks just like them at your event. Wish I could find the cash to travel from Seattle and attend one of the SEGA races. However, since you folks are recording, editing and uploading the races for we who cannot attend to RUclips,, Thank you!
The wait is over, here we go!!!!!!!
Would like to see more of the SS class than just the finals.
Be sure to watch this one in 4k. Looked great on my 4k TV last night. :)
Like that 'Cuda of Ray Fassel's! They need more of the early 'Cudas!
I agree. Barracuda 64-69. Real barracudas 😉
Heads up, grass roots drag racing! And look at that, THIS type of drag racing actually packs the grandstands just like it used to back in the day... you just might be onto something here Quain Stott!! Track managers, race organizers, NHRA, ya'll listening!!? #makedragracinggreatagain
I was there
HOLY SMOKES Quick & Dirty that was a violent trans explosion!!! Did the safety bell housing even do it's job? Is there any unedited video without the commentary over the sound of the cars?
Check out the clutch plate stuck in the cowl just in front of the windshield at 9:33 ! Lord have mercy!
That plus the carnage on the passenger side of the interior floorboard area. Tony is seriously very fortunate to not have a scratch!
Explosion was uncontained - so no, the scattershield didn't do its job. There is also supposed to be a plate between the shield and the rear of the block - it may have failed also, unless it was missing.
Oh, yeah! This is what I've been waiting for! The gassers are back! Awesome! Been looking forward to the Super Stocks, too!
I got buddy who race with yall tim hall keep up the good work may the good lord be with yall 😁😀
Man! Only one Super Stock race?
They raced all afternoon. There was a good looking slow 63 galaxy
Would be nice to see SS class too. Best wishes from Sweden
I wonder if that's the same primered willys truck that's local to the 813?! I believe it is.
Still want to build a car for Super Stock... would love to see more!
The leader of this band, is a maestro, rt-on ur blessed w/ correctness.
What ever happened to Gene Fulton's car? Never really got an update on what the problem was regarding his DQ.
More Super Stock please. And where are all the B body Mopars that used to dominate back in the day?? Someone needs to wipe the dust off and enter SEGA!!
SEGA,, AWESUM!
where is night stalker?
karen Elam he does not run in the SEGA
Great cars and all, but I am SO tired of the screaming in-car interviews all of the time. Same worthless dialog every time. Give it a rest. Let's have some in-car racing video instead.
So you don't care to know what the drivers have to say after the run. We want to promote our drivers as well as the cars. Would any racing be worth watching over and over again if you didn't have a clue about the driver.
@@SoutheastGassersAssociation I don't really need a clue about the driver. Whatever interesting facts about them are already being mentioned as they stage. I watch for the action.
The after-run interviews interrupt the action, and the vocal level is annoying as all blazes. I have no problem with Mr. Stott at normal levels. PERHAPS, the drivers can shut off their cars for the interview so he doesn't have to shout. Or, have a segment just for interviews where the driver can tell us how the car was set up or what the engine combo in detail is. You know, stuff that gearheads like. And again, in-car shifting rocks.
Nothing personal. I have linked your vids in certain discussion forums. Lots of other regions in this country would love to have an organization like yours in operation.
@@413x398 I included a link to a video that might be more to your liking. This guy comes to our races from time to time and post video more like what you want I think. They are short video's but all action and he does several from each race. Only problem is he's about 6 months behind getting them out. You can search his site for lots more SEGA video. The one I linked here is from last year and was a 5 hour rain delay in case your wondering why there are no spectators.

@@SoutheastGassersAssociation Yes, thank you, I know NitroArt. The "6 months behind" thing doesn't matter because, again, I'm in it for the action. I watch drag races that are decades old. For the record: I'm in my 60's, I presently own 52 domestics '63 to '73, and I'm just trying to give you some insight. I will continue to view your content, but I mouse ahead of the loud interviews. Keep up the good work. P.S.: guess at my RUclips name. Thanks!
WE DONT CARE ABOUT your SO CALLED Promod " Rain" ...... You need to DROP IT ......
What do you care about, we will make a special video just for you Jim.
Some how your Personal Reply doent Suprise me. I like the RACIN and the cars . its for Them , not you. Dang bud have you Ever Heard Any other Interviewer do that. I'm proud you drove a pro Mod but this is Their Race.
Southeast Gassers Association We Like it so Much were looking to Build Two cars for Two classes .
Jim the reply was from me Quain not Mitch to who I'm guessing you are referring to. Mitch has donated his labor to help me bring the SEGA to the fans for over 8 years. He has not ever as much as gave me a bill for a motel or charged me for his gas. There have been times I would have probably gave up and there would not be an SEGA if not for Mitch Stott. So if he wants to use his past experience as a driver to make a point I think we should be proud to listen, never know might learn something.
sir, you got this all wrong this isn't just my thought but you built a great organization here and we're really listening and wanting to hear the about the guys out there not how they compared to someone else that's all you know I'm not trying to make a big thing out of this or on anybody down I guess my mistake was I should have just contacted him personally somehow but this wasn't meant to be a put down but I spot you know I've heard a lot of members talking about the same thing he's a nice guy he means well I know that but the fans are interested in the racers in the organization that's all I'm saying please don't misunderstand me please sir that's not my point
