You could probably get an answer from someone who is at the resort now by joining the "Fans of Lopesan" FB group. That group was very helpful when we were planning our trip!

Awww resort cats! I have never heard of a fried brownie before 😂 I can see why the bar with the fresh fruit cocktails would be your favourite :) Your appetisers at the French restaurant looked really nice
The cats were the cause of the musty urine smell in the first floor hallways because they would chow down on what was left on discarded room service plates.
Loving this in depth insight. I am considering this resort for an upcoming trip, so you know how the resort handles allergies and dietary restrictions? A lot of options for someone who had a dairy and gluten allergy?
I drank primarily rum on the resort, and the most premium one I remember was Brugal Extra Viejo (quite delicious) which runs around $30 a bottle. I also remember them having Johnny Walker Red/Black and Beefeater Gin.

When we visited Maraes was included in both Unique and non-Unique. It was just the lobster that you had to pay extra for if you did not have the Unique package. I do not believe reservations were guaranteed for Unique guests, but when we visited the resort was not close to fully occupied and we had no issues getting into all the restaurants that we wanted to!
Great videos. Completely inaccurate now though. We chose Lopesan based on this content and it has been a total disappointment. $8k down the drain for a less than unique experience.

Hi Alex. If you book Unique, everything (including the Unique breakfast and lunch and lobster at dinner) is included. If you book any other category, you'll still have access to all restaurants except the unique restaurant at no cost. All bars are included with all categories of bookings except for the adults only bar and unique bars. We provide more details on this in our Unique Experience video, so feel free to check that out.
Hi, we thought the main buffet that everyone could access was a bit better at the Lopesan but the a la carte restaurants were similar in quality at both resorts. We did book Unique at the Lopesan and the breakfast and lunch buffet for Unique guests was much better that the main buffets at both resorts, but Unique is also more expensive. It is hard to say one is better than the other. The Lopesan was a more calm/relaxing environment and Ambar was more lively but we really enjoyed both experiences. we would recommend joining a lopesan and ambar FB group as guests who are there currently or recently returned, often share their experiences and that may help with a decision.
All drinks are included, but Unique members have access to the Unique-only bars as well as the Adults-Only bar which do offer some better quality drinks... also included.
All meals were included during our stay at the Lopesan. We're not aware of any bookings that do not include all meals (with the exception of lobster). But perhaps some non all-inclusive options exist that we are not aware of.

Honestly there weren't that many people in general when we visited this resort, (it was only around half full we believe). That being said, we visited when COVID was still pretty bad, so we're sure that had a LOT to do with it. It's say this is a very family friendly resort, but I would see no reason why singles can't enjoy it just as much. If you're considering booking, I'd join the Fans of the Lopesan FB group and as any questions you may have there. It's a very active group with a lot of members who have visited much more recently then us. Thanks for watching!

Of all the resorts you have showcased on your channel I think this is my fav...I am so tempted to book a vaca for me and my family! I normally consider myself to be a well experienced foodie. Omg, after this video I feel like a total beginner. I've never seen so many things I've never tried. I'm going to run out and get something delicious this weekend.
We really could have stayed there several more days and not tried all of the food we wanted to! We have seen some reviews where people have not enjoyed the food and we do wonder where else they have stayed. In general I think higher end resorts in other countries like Mexico typically have even better food...but when you compare what you are paying for those resorts to the resorts in the Dominican Republic (at least recently) we think they are a great deal for the price. We hope you find some wonderful cuisine this weekend!
Definitely lots of fresh fruits, salads, breads, etc... on the buffet. As far as the specialty restaurants, I believe they each had at lease one vegetarian option, but not sure about vegan.
So many options!! Wow! The Barvaro coffee shop is really nice! Unique Club seems so worth it! That lunch looks amazing 🤩 and…unique! The ice cream bar looks incredible! So many bars to choose from. But give me a g&t from La Perla now please 🍹😅 Ooooh, complimentary lobster for dinner 🤤 I must say, the food presentation is really pretty! And there are so many different types of cuisines! The Boulevard is so beautiful at night.
The coffee shop and ice cream shop were really impressive, and we couldn't believe how empty they usually are. The gin and tonic at La Perla was incredible. We'd never had one quite like that before and don't know if we can go back to drinking a normal gin and tonic again!

I am traveling to this resort in february, in the main season, and i am a bit scared because I think in the main season it is much more crowded than in july.. do you think that this is possible?

I do think it could be busier in February but don't have any experience to speak from. There is a FB group that may be able to answer how busy it typically is in February. Do they offer on site, snorkeling, and kayaking for free or additional cost? do you have any videos of what the souvenir shop has? also, I noticed that you had a cute bag with their name on it. How much does something like that run and is that in the gift shop?

Regarding your other questions, it's been a while since we visited now and we don't remember details on snorkeling or soda types. Our pleasure! Unfortunately when we visited, we do not recall the items on the buffet being labeled, but as it's been a couple of years since we were there, things could have changed. I would definitely be hanging out at that coffee shop in the morning, and those beach and pool bars for the rest of the day. The lunch options and dinner seemed great. The lobby bar looked nice, I wouldn't make it to the nightclub - too late for me! But the pub and sports bar looked more my style.
If it wasn't for the video, we probably wouldn't have made it to the nightclub either! It's weird that how on vacation we magically transform into morning people 😅
Thank you for watching! It has been a while since we were at the Lopesan, but I think we were able to request 2 reservations via email or via phone prior to our stay. I believe we were supposed to be able to do it online or via an app but it wasnt working. Keep in mind this trip occurred in 2022 and resorts were frequently changing their processes due to the pandemic. we would recommend joining the FB group Fans of Lopesan Costa Bavaro, the members could better answer what the current reservation process is.

Would you be able to comment on the quality of food. More recent reviews have stated that lots of people are getting food poisoning due to high temperatures in the outdoor buffet with food that's suppose to be kept on ice or cooler.
We booked Unique, so we primarily ate at the Unique Buffet for breakfast and lunch, although we did have some snacks in the main buffets. We though the food was good and had no issues with getting sick at all. That said, it's been nearly two years since we've visited now, so it's always possible that things have gone down hill. Before we booked, we found the "Fans of the Lopesan" Facebook group to be very helpful in deciding where to book. It's a very active community and you'll likely be able to get any questions you may have answered by someone who's been there much more recently. So if you haven't joined that group already, I'd highly recommend it!
Great video and as soon as I had a question, you were sure to answer it! One more quick question, is there room service 24/7 with the standard room? Also, when at the pool and/or beach, is there waiters collecting your order and serving you drinks and food? Or do you have to go to a bar or restaurant yourself to get food or drinks?
Thanks so much, Samantha! During our stay, we do believe that room service was 24 hours, although this is one service that we never used (other than to get ice). From my research online, it does appear that room service is 24 hours for unique guests, but may be limited hours for non-unique guests. For a definite answer, I'd recommend joining the fans of the Lopesan Costa Bavaro facebook group. There are many people in that group who are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the resort! Regarding ordering from the beach, we did see wait staff taking drink orders. From what we've heard, it is much easier to get drink service on the beach for Unique guests. We don't recall ever seeing anyone getting food brought to them on the beach.
What do most people do in regards to tipping at the bars? We’re going soon and I want to be prepared with cash if I need it. Great video and super informative!
That's a good question, Ryan. We didn't pay too much attention to what the people around us were tipping and it's very hard to find information out there on what is considered to be "typical". It also, of course, will depend largely upon the quality of service. One thing that we can tell you is that it can be difficult to change out large bills for smaller ones at the resort, so we'd suggesting bringing several smaller bills onto the resort with you to tip.
Hello, Catherine! Yes, the lobster at the Mediterranean Restaurant is the only item at the a la cartes that you had to pay extra for during our visit. For the current process of booking the a la cartes at the Lopesan, we'd recommend joining the Friends of the Lopesan Facebook group if you haven't already. It's a very active community with many members who've visited the resort more recently than us who would be happy to share the restaurant booking process along and to answer any other questions you may have.

Thanks for the video. Was wondering why didn't you book Inari and El Charro, was it not available? Do you know if we can book the same restaurant more than once on different nights? I tried calling Lopesan but language barrier.
We just didn't have enough nights on the resort to book all of the restaurants, so we had to skip a couple. We ultimately skipped El Charro and Inari just based off personal preference (we eat a lot of Mexican and Asian food at home, so we wanted to eat something different). We had actually heard pretty good reviews on both of those places. I do think that it is possible to book the same restaurant more than one night, although we did not attempt to do so.
You can book the same restaurant every night if you so desire. La Boheme and El Charro were our favorites. Then came Mareas and El Asador. Unique Dinner and Gondola were our least favorites. We skipped Inari entirely. The Buffet dinner was just too noisy and chaotic in our opinion.
Overall we would say the Lopesan is better. The Lopesan buffets are definitely better, but the ala carte restaurants are similar in quality from our experience.
It's the question we get asked the most. The answer is by eating a LOT less at home than we do when we're filming😄 And also we LOVE our local rock climbing gym!

Thank you so much for the kind comment, Greysell. Unfortunately transportation was not included during our stay. That said, we were able to get private transfers for $36.30 one way with Dominican Airport Transfers and we were quite happy with them.
We thought the food at the Unique buffets was outstanding compared to other resorts we'd visited. We have never visited either Secrets or Excellence though, so unfortunately, we can't compare it to those two resorts.

Hi guys, we are currently in the process of booking the Lopesan all inclusive experience, but just wanted to clarify some food info ))) 1) the two buffets are included in the price of the booking ? 2) breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in these two buffets everyday ? From what we recall, the main buffet has two different dining rooms (one for families and one for adults only). The two dining rooms share a buffet, although it's a bit confusing as they refer to it as two buffets. During our stay, the main buffet was open for all three meals, and was included in the price of the booking. If you want to verify that this is still the case, we'd recommend joining the "Fans of Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort" facebook page. It's a really helpful group, and you should be able to find someone who has visited more recently who will answer any questions you may have about it!.
As far as we are aware, you can. If you haven't already, you should join the friends of the Lopesan Facebook group. They are a very helpful group and can answer any other questions you may have.
We were able to book a couple over the phone a week or so prior to our stay (the app wasn't working). The rest we booked via an electronic kiosk in the lobby upon arrival. Thanks for watching!

Was the dinner $60? What is that at All Inclusive Resort?
When we visited the lobster dinner was $60 for non-Unique guests, but since we were Unique guests, we were able to get it once for no extra charge.

Hi, i am thinkng to book this alp inclusive resort. Was the bavaro coffee place for extra charge or included in the all inclusive package?
Any vegetarian or vegan options?
Definitely lots of fresh fruits, salads, breads, etc... on the buffet. As far as the specialty restaurants, I believe they each had at lease one vegetarian option, but not sure about vegan.

Ooooh, complimentary lobster for dinner 🤤 I must say, the food presentation is really pretty! And there are so many different types of cuisines!
The Boulevard is so beautiful at night.
The coffee shop and ice cream shop were really impressive, and we couldn't believe how empty they usually are. The gin and tonic at La Perla was incredible. We'd never had one quite like that before and don't know if we can go back to drinking a normal gin and tonic again!

I am traveling to this resort in february, in the main season, and i am a bit scared because I think in the main season it is much more crowded than in july.. do you think that this is possible?
@@Leo-zx8jw Hi Leo, apologies for the delayed response. We were at this resort in May. The only other time we have visited a DR resort was in October. I do think it could be busier in February but don't have any experience to speak from. There is a FB group that may be able to answer how busy it typically is in February. Thank you for you video very helpful. We are going for the first time in April. I have a couple questions. Do they offer soda products, diet Sprite or Diet Coke? Do they offer on site, snorkeling, and kayaking for free or additional cost? do you have any videos of what the souvenir shop has? also, I noticed that you had a cute bag with their name on it. How much does something like that run and is that in the gift shop?

Regarding your other questions, it's been a while since we visited now and we don't remember details on snorkeling or soda types. We would however recommend joining the Fans of the Lopesan Facebook group if you have not already. You would likely be able to get most if not all of your questions answered there.

Our pleasure! Unfortunately when we visited, we do not recall the items on the buffet being labeled, but as it's been a couple of years since we were there, things could have changed. We found the "Fans of the Lopesan" Facebook group to be an incredibly valuable resource when we were researching the resort, so if you have Facebook and haven't joined that group already, we'd highly recommend doing so. I would definitely be hanging out at that coffee shop in the morning, and those beach and pool bars for the rest of the day. The lunch options and dinner seemed great. The lobby bar looked nice, I wouldn't make it to the nightclub - too late for me! But the pub and sports bar looked more my style.
If it wasn't for the video, we probably wouldn't have made it to the nightclub either! It's weird that how on vacation we magically transform into morning people 😅
All I did when was there was eat and sleep in front of the pool. 😂

Thank you for watching! It has been a while since we were at the Lopesan, but I think we were able to request 2 reservations via email or via phone prior to our stay. I believe we were supposed to be able to do it online or via an app but it wasnt working. Keep in mind this trip occurred in 2022 and resorts were frequently changing their processes due to the pandemic. we would recommend joining the FB group Fans of Lopesan Costa Bavaro, the members could better answer what the current reservation process is.
I have watched these several times and love it.
We have booked unique for July and can’t wait.

We are there now. Mareas doesn't have the lobster dinner now. It is at the Unique buffet at night now. 3 meals aday now at Unique.

Would you be able to comment on the quality of food. More recent reviews have stated that lots of people are getting food poisoning due to high temperatures in the outdoor buffet with food that's suppose to be kept on ice or cooler.
We booked Unique, so we primarily ate at the Unique Buffet for breakfast and lunch, although we did have some snacks in the main buffets. We though the food was good and had no issues with getting sick at all. That said, it's been nearly two years since we've visited now, so it's always possible that things have gone down hill. Before we booked, we found the "Fans of the Lopesan" Facebook group to be very helpful in deciding where to book. It's a very active community and you'll likely be able to get any questions you may have answered by someone who's been there much more recently. So if you haven't joined that group already, I'd highly recommend it!

Great video and as soon as I had a question, you were sure to answer it! One more quick question, is there room service 24/7 with the standard room? Also, when at the pool and/or beach, is there waiters collecting your order and serving you drinks and food? Or do you have to go to a bar or restaurant yourself to get food or drinks?
Thanks so much, Samantha! During our stay, we do believe that room service was 24 hours, although this is one service that we never used (other than to get ice). From my research online, it does appear that room service is 24 hours for unique guests, but may be limited hours for non-unique guests. For a definite answer, I'd recommend joining the fans of the Lopesan Costa Bavaro facebook group. There are many people in that group who are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the resort!
Regarding ordering from the beach, we did see wait staff taking drink orders. From what we've heard, it is much easier to get drink service on the beach for Unique guests. We don't recall ever seeing anyone getting food brought to them on the beach.
How does it work? Can I stop at any buffet? My first all inclusive resort, I’ll be there in one week.

What do most people do in regards to tipping at the bars? We’re going soon and I want to be prepared with cash if I need it. Great video and super informative!
That's a good question, Ryan. We didn't pay too much attention to what the people around us were tipping and it's very hard to find information out there on what is considered to be "typical". It also, of course, will depend largely upon the quality of service. One thing that we can tell you is that it can be difficult to change out large bills for smaller ones at the resort, so we'd suggesting bringing several smaller bills onto the resort with you to tip.

Hello, Catherine! Yes, the lobster at the Mediterranean Restaurant is the only item at the a la cartes that you had to pay extra for during our visit. For the current process of booking the a la cartes at the Lopesan, we'd recommend joining the Friends of the Lopesan Facebook group if you haven't already. It's a very active community with many members who've visited the resort more recently than us who would be happy to share the restaurant booking process along and to answer any other questions you may have.

Thanks for the video. Was wondering why didn't you book Inari and El Charro, was it not available? Do you know if we can book the same restaurant more than once on different nights? I tried calling Lopesan but language barrier.
We just didn't have enough nights on the resort to book all of the restaurants, so we had to skip a couple. We ultimately skipped El Charro and Inari just based off personal preference (we eat a lot of Mexican and Asian food at home, so we wanted to eat something different). We had actually heard pretty good reviews on both of those places. I do think that it is possible to book the same restaurant more than one night, although we did not attempt to do so.
You can book the same restaurant every night if you so desire. La Boheme and El Charro were our favorites. Then came Mareas and El Asador. Unique Dinner and Gondola were our least favorites. We skipped Inari entirely. The Buffet dinner was just too noisy and chaotic in our opinion.

Overall we would say the Lopesan is better. The Lopesan buffets are definitely better, but the ala carte restaurants are similar in quality from our experience.

Thank you so much for the kind comment, Greysell. Unfortunately transportation was not included during our stay. That said, we were able to get private transfers for $36.30 one way with Dominican Airport Transfers and we were quite happy with them.

We thought the food at the Unique buffets was outstanding compared to other resorts we'd visited. We have never visited either Secrets or Excellence though, so unfortunately, we can't compare it to those two resorts.

At the main pool there was waiter service during our stay, but we usually went to Unique or adults only bars for our drinks.

There was only a fee for the lobster when we visited (unless you booked Unique in which case the lobster was included).
Hi guys, we are currently in the process of booking the Lopesan all inclusive experience, but just wanted to clarify some food info ))) 1) the two buffets are included in the price of the booking ? 2) breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in these two buffets everyday ? We are big family and it becomes costly with a la carte menu at the end for the whole family 😅

From what we recall, the main buffet has two different dining rooms (one for families and one for adults only). The two dining rooms share a buffet, although it's a bit confusing as they refer to it as two buffets. During our stay, the main buffet was open for all three meals, and was included in the price of the booking. If you want to verify that this is still the case, we'd recommend joining the "Fans of Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort" facebook page. It's a really helpful group, and you should be able to find someone who has visited more recently who will answer any questions you may have about it!.
