Terrapin Nature Park, Kent Island ⛱️

A great coastal preserve and park. Very grateful to the local park services for these Kent Island beaches and treasures. There IS one part of the trail that can get bad with biting flies in the middle of summer. It's not as reliable and nasty as Ferry Point park, though. You might see a great blue heron in the pond on the way. Osprey are usually to be found. The beach and bay here are usually wonderful. It's worth it. Also, there's a blind for viewing waterfowl in the pond, and there's a lot more trail if you want to take the scenic route. One way is almost a direct path to the beach (that was how we came in), but another takes you for a big loop around two ponds, and you also cross the creek that we saw empty out into the bay. It's a wonderful walk under most conditions, - again, unless it's exceptionally buggy and hot.
