Well most people take jaunts to Hangzhou, Nanjing or Shanghai etc. often. There is a cixi foreigner wechat group. We are getting volleyball started, so that's nice. Living here should keep you outta trouble unless your travel every weekend. It's boring and kinda inconvenient to be honest.
I hope after working a few years in China you can retire in the States more comfortably. Not every foreigner likes China but I hope you can tell the what are the lies about China from the US media.
