In mild steel, the recommended tapped thread depth is the thickness of the bolt, so for your 5/8" axle pillow block bolts, just tapping the 1/4" wall to 5/8" thread is less than 1/2 of the recommended thread engagement. The recommended bolt torque for even a grade 2 5/8" coarse thread bolt is 75 ft/lbs and I doubt you will get anywhere near that without pulling threads.
Fantastic!!!!! I am thinking of building a mini sit in skid loader. It may turn out to be a stand on but I was run over on my antique Harley and crushed/wrapped around a telephone pole. Having to learn how to walk again a standing machine doe not seem desirable to me.
Hello, is your pump a CW or CCW rotation. I am building something similar using a 12.5 HP Brigs and Stratton vertical shaft mower engine and I am not sure what rotation pump to get. Thanks!
That site I sent you has a great technical page for sizing hydraulics. It would be good to punch some numbers in so you can size what your building correctly
I hope I'm wrong but if that is open center hydraulics, I think that only one valve/spool will work at a time. Ie if you move a valve to run a wheel motor, the other wheel or loader will not work untill you let go of the valve. When I built a loader for my little Kubota, I can lift the loader or tip the bucket but not at the same time. I have been wanting to do a project like yours for a long time. Best of luck
Like I said I’m no expert but I believe open center allows fluid to pass through the valve when not operating but is a three position 4 way valve which should allow for more than one port being used at once
Very nice work….I’m starting to do a very similar project. Can you write me the spec of engine, pump and motor….I’m Italian and I don’t understand when you are tell in the video….many tank’s
Fabio, sorry I’ve gotten a lot built since this video and need to find the time for a part two for everybody. No problem engine is a 16.6hp gas, pump is 0.73 cu in DYNAMIC GPF2012S9A. And the drive motors are 9.8 cu in DANFOSS 255160A1910ABAAAP. If you do a copy and paste you should find all the info your looking for. Ended up being a very nice combination of hydraulics and the unit is extremely powerful and able to skid and turn on pavement at idle with no issues. Wait for part two and I will dive in to some of the trouble shooting I had to do so anybody that is new to hydraulics can get past simple mistakes I learned
Hello from mx.. wow. Nice build proyect.. i want build one same you i need sizes and drawings me proyect in build one r/c mini skid steer plz send a plans if need me email..tell me tnkz

For sure, I agree. worse case I will just through bolt if I have issues in the future
Excellent, couldn't be more interested.
Can't wait for part 2!
Should be moving soon!

John, thanks. Totally worth the build. I’m glad I decided to make it stand on with a pin on seat for longer jobs

please write up a build of materials as soon as you can this is a good kit
Will do Paul. I’ll get back in to the RUclips shortly just have been super busy
Can u share some dimensions? Tks for ur video, very informative
Great project. Thanks!
Thanks so much, more videos on it in the future.
What is the width with wheels of the mini?
Tires are 18x8.5x8 4x4 bolt pattern, this was a set of golf cart tires I found for cheap
