It was a propeller plane, but really same concept in terms of stealing something
What really shocks me, is that he was able to find and identify his house from the air, while piloting aircraft, in a mental state where he was acting more off of anger than logic. Something tells me that he has flown aircraft for a while and has seen his house from overhead before, not to mention the possibility that the event of him doing this ran in his head before he had acted.

I don’t think passed away is a good term when someone dies from unnatural causes. At first I was like “who tf cares if some old guy passed away” but if he died on duty then that’s different. Hope he covers it. Small town cops are usually the better ones.
