Neat video. I get what you are saying Dave, but there is nobody to rescue right below the dam. Drones over the devastated area where that water is heading would be a problem but not over 105.

Amazing footage. So many memories, long since forgotten. Thanks for the great upload! I can only imagine what the sound must be like. Trying to sleep with the gates locked and water smashing over the dam was one thing. Gates open with that amount of water, the roar would be tremendous. The people in those homes are on a crest of a hill and no doubt okay and most probably were fully prepared, certainly not in need of rescue. If they felt like they needed to evacuate, they would have already done so. Some of those homes were built more than 40 years ago. Unless all the old timers are passed or have gone completely senile, they know that dam and have made it through countless storms albeit doubtful nothing like this one.

Yah, us here in Texas see 36 inches of rain per year, NOT PER WEEK.... Thanks for your heartfelt concern! We are helping each other! I'm 100 miles from Houston, they had over 40 inches in parts. They are reknown for flooding, this is serious shit... 100's of homes lost, no insurance. Working man/woman takes huge hit to the belly.... Fucking sad, sad, sad..... I've given all I can afford. I'm closer to LaGrange TX, many homes and businesses there are ruined. Colorado river crested at 55 feet, 3rd highest in recorded history!

ELLEON1959 Bless your soul. Be assured we pray for you. Must be hard to get up each morning and face the harsh reality. But that's what I pray for, for God to equip you with bravery and hope each new day.

Lake Houston down stream is 100% full and flooding is already occurring around the edges. I don't know if they re releasing water them selves or if the know Lake Conroe is releasing. But my guess is they ought to know. They need to also be releasing. I am observing from the UK studying geographical altitude observations. So can not just check if they are aware of the critical situation. Lake Houston has been rising for about the last 5 days. It is about 101% full.

This just shows never go swimming by a dam ever, ESPECIALLY if u think the water level is starting to rise because when the say, screw it, open the gates that current is very powerful but usually they send an alarm first but if it’s already open..... dead meat or more like drowned meat depending if u got sucked in to the turbines or not...

Is the state intentionally liable for flooding homes if they don't have flood insurance? I can see a legal argument being made that had they not released the water, the homes would not have been flood damaged.

Ok, so think about what happens when the damn has a pressure buildup, and can't sustain it anymore? If the dam bursts, it'll be way more catastrophic than these controlled releases

When/who/what kind of info is needed to say THE DAM IS ABOUT TO BURST? who makes that decision? It should be public with all the info that person gathered, put before the people

you'll find out as soon as they know. I'd GUESS around 10 or 12 months and long after the dam breaks or levee what have ya. The gubberment knows nothing, does nothing, each party blames everything on each other, nothing is ventured, nothing gained, and we will soon be 30 Trillion in debt. Little Dubya GAVE us OBAMA, OBAMA wanted to give us Clit on, but we REFUSED! So we have a BUSINESS MAN and 1000 plus axxholes in WASHINGTON that refuse to give in to the AMERICAN PEOPLE and butt TRUMP at his every move. What are the media thinking? Are they all communists? Facists? Congress is going to pay heavily for bucking Trumpster, they don't know it yet, BUT THEY WILL! It's out of hand. 7 of 10 people I talk to can not or refuse to see this. WHAT is the lame stream media's agenda? If it's to take down our country, THEY ARE SUCCEEDING MUCH TO MY DISMAY AND MILLIONS OF OTHERS WHO have fought and died for this property we call AMERICA. What will it take to turn this around? I think we're past that point personally. Dad said it would take a business man to see the numbers and know this shit can't go on much longer. He's dead since '03, shit is going down hill and if he were alive today he'd still vote democrap. DEMOCRAPS ARE NOT YOUR PARENTS DEMOCRATS FROM THE PAST 40 years ago! PASS THE FUCKING WORD, or if you are one, don't reply to me, for I will not reply to you! Why give away our country? It's already too late...

Whoever built their house right by the dam has some balls lol. And thanks to the river authority for flooding millions of homes so the people who built their homes on the lake would be safe. This never makes sense to me.
