Is April Sound HOA more expensive than Walden because April Sound is a professionally guard guarded community? Interested in a 2-3 bed condo/townhouse...And are VA loans accepted? Would like to reach out to U when ready mid this yr. Please advise at your convenience.
Very few lake condos are VA approved but I can find out which ones are allowed. April sounds has guard gates and Walden does not. When you reach out I can have an agent send you the fees for both. We look forward to helping!

Is April Sound at higher risk for flooding -- since it is more to the south closer to the dam? I saw a few townhouses that allow VA loans that were sold recently, so that gives me hope! @@patricianorman209 no April sound has a ton of elevation! Also, most stuff on the lake will never flood because they release water from the damn before the homes would flood. My mother owns a condo on the water in April sound and it’s great

Technically yes but very rarely are they seen, it’s not like Florida where they are everywhere. Here we never have any incidents with them, they aren’t in the open part of the lake where most people swim and boat. They are mainly up in the national forest I’ve lived here my whole life and have never heard of any incidents with a gator
It certainly got high but most of the homes on the lake didn’t take water, downstream where it has flooded historically got hit pretty hard unfortunately
It’s actually not bad around the lake, more flooding takes place south of the damn. They don’t let the water get up over the bulkhead in most storms, they will release water from the damn before they flood homes on the lake.
Hi there! Moved to Texas Jan 2024 from Honolulu, HI where I lived most of my adult life and choose to live in Montgomery, TX at The Walden. We are retired US Navy stationed in Pearl Harbor and decided to live on the mainland. The best thing would say about The Walden and living in this small community is that the people are ALL VERY NICE! It is quiet and we feel very safe. I was surprised to see benches with no homeless people sleeping or hanging around. Yeah!!
