This project was totally crazy but it feels energizing to do something outside the regular playing or reactions for once. Without any doubt one of the pleasures of my work is to be able to find people who excel in their craft. This was one of those moments. Being able to see people that take their craft to the next level was something i enjoyed more than i expected. It was not only inspiring but also humbling since i have ZERO knowledge on how this things are done.
In any case and no matter what the result of the video is, I sincerely hope to have shared those feelings with you guys properly.
Whatever you do, hard work and dedication takes you to places!

That is definitely one of the coolest things I have ever seen. As an old ass computer nerd and IT professional, they addressed pretty much every issue I could think of. It might have issues with dust since the air intake doesn't have a filter, and the air flow isn't perfect, but aside from that it looks great. They actually make ultra small shock resistant computers with passive cooling that you could have just slapped anywhere, but this is way cooler. I love that they minimized the amount of holes you needed to cut into the kit.
I want one now.
I wonder is you could put a monitor in one of the toms? Also I wonder what interesting ways you could deal with keyboard and mouse input? So many fun things to try with this...
So doesn't sound travel through the air though? Even with the foam and isolation, everything is still going to be hit with the sound waves. This thing is awesome. But, I see that causing havoc on computer component solder joints.
Yes, the monitor is on the bass drum. That's where the idea lies.
@@brundog807possibly the air pressure and vibrations could cause issues, but that would probably take a while unless there was a weak spot. Dampening the vibrations from the shell is definitely the biggest issue, since that's a much stronger medium than air, and it seemed ok when watching the beaters hit. Really just we'll need to see how long it holds up. The best way to do this is just not to do it, since you'll always have a tradeoff between sound performance, computer lengevity, and how cool it looks. This is just trying to find a happy medium that gets the best of all worlds, which I think they did a good job on for a first pass.
If I was given the task I probably would have suspended a cube inside since that's easier to isolate and control, but I think this looks cooler and is more true to the concept.

Once I was stupid enough to put my head into a bass drum and let the drummer go nuts... Lemme tell you... It wasn't 'just' loud, it moves MASSIVE amount of air! So much, that I am still bewildered that this BD-PC actually still works!
That's ace !! Only thing I'd be worried about would be when the bass drum head goes through 😂
This gives options... TRIGGERS!!!! Run the set through a Superior Drummer or what ever other Drum Sample Program you like, to achieve always fitting "set-ups" for every song, or even switch Sounds (e.g. Snares) using a midi foot control mid song... like sum guitar players use 5 different simulated Amps (For Intro, Verse, Bridge, Chorus, Pre-Chorus, Solo etc, parts) every Song, using Kampers or similar technologies...
I know, this can be done with an external laptop, too, but to use such a computer BD as a dedicated device for such things, lifts the use to another level... It's no longer him vs. the Machines (Robots), It's him conquering / using / not it's him playing the machines to lift his already at the highest level creativity and Technic, even higher. And as this was meant to be, you don't have to care for the laptop in your studio / life rig, as you already have the computer build into your set. Now you just a need a mobile monitor screen :)

Electrician here. Genuinely intrigued in how the wires were terminated to prevent the wires from coming loose due to the extreme vibrations from the extreme isolated sound waves within the.. drum case? Lol.

This is awesome, now you should make a custom system with speakers and mics. Then in the sound settings > speakers preferences, set the device as "listen too". I think it would sort of create an endless echo of the drum set, it might be interesting at the least.

This is pretty awesome. Wondering how the constant pressure changes in the drum will effect the PC parts long term.
The lighting looks great. Try doing all the shells in different colors. Then a trigger on the bass pedal..that’d be a hell of a lightshow.

Power supply should vent last with components getting the freshest air in.
Yea, I think the same, a vertical division would probably be ideal instead of horizontal stacks, but I don't really think it matters too much for a low power computer. There's enough air space for the heat to diffuse in and there are enough gaps that optimal airflow wouldn't really work anyway especially since there are no intake fans.
Besides it looks cooler this way.

Pretty straight forward. I have built systems in random things... lol One thing i would do, for cable management and less cables, is change the fans out for the new Corsair RX120s / 140s since they can be chained together and everything runs off of 1 cable or 2 tops. Would look much much cleaner. Lian Li Uni fans would be a great option as well. Less cables :)

Esta guay la idea de meter el pc dentro del bombo, pero es algo muy sencillo, hubiera estado muy guay haber personalizado el exterior de alguna manera original, los ventiladores de arriba con el soporte 3d queda un poco cutre porque no tienen calidad, por lo que habria puesto los ventiladores dentro en vez de fuera
El pc como idea, bueno, como practica, pues no tiene mucho uso la verdad, ademas que si lo mueves añades peso al transporte, pero de todas maneras, en tus tomas nunca se va a apreciar que utilizas un pc dentro de un bombo, pero el detalle que le da a los videos el rgb esta guapo.
En vez de un pc, le metes al bombo unos rgb haces lo mismo y queda mas limpio.
Igual eres el primero con un pc dentro del bombo porque nadie en su sano juicio lo utilizaria y es absurdo xD
Pero bueno, como proyecto y anectoda mola, algo fresco al canal!

I was going to do the obvious, can you play Crysis? ... But for real, you should drum to the soundtrack of a video game that that computer will suck at playing due to not having the most capable components. Something like Cyberpunk 2077 or something similar.

electric drum triggers+electric drum brain+drum mutes+sub woofers=even better. Acoustic electric drum set that could record audio and midi mute a drum and then use trigger to change drum sound and ouptut new sound through sub while playing the other acoustic drums.

Seems like the sudden bursts of air/change in air pressure would damage the fans and maybe components. Crazy and cool that it works.
And the screen will still be external and subject to errant drum sticks hitting it.
