Thank you for broadcasting our issues. It’s a highly alarming inflation.
In the short run, the hike is terrible. But in the long run, you guys will benefit. All the best.
@@Contractor48 In many countries it’s a bit easier to see how it would help in the long run but not so much in Nigeria where corruption is too high and the government is still reckless with spending on frivolities while the masses suffer. The people do not trust the president. He came through corrupt means in an election he did not win, his history is entrenched in corruption (drug peddling, certificate forgery and election rigging) and his actions in power have raised many doubts about every promise he makes. Nevertheless, I’m expecting the best and preparing for the worst.

The inflation is at 150%

Thank You so much Palki. Your doing a great job. There are other factors that have contributed to the problem on ground. Outside the two you mentioned other are 3) High cost of governance 4)Insecurity 5)Corruption. Life is so hard in Nigeria right now. Prices of goods and services have tripled. A loaf of bread that was sold at 500 naira in December 2023 is now sold for 1200 naira. Living in Lagos right now is hell for salary earners
Add legitimacy issues to the list. Everyone with a brain knows the man rigged his way to that seat, with the corrupt judiciary doing his bidding. Investors do not want to invest in an economy that is shaky where justice is sold to the highest bidder. Lack of constant electricity is another factor.
Now N1,600 😮
I don't understand how Nigerian hungry??
You don't understand abi? 😅 okay! Come and live with us for 2 weeks you will understand
This two issue are related to all what you have mention
Dear beautiful Palki Sharma, thanks a million. No News channel reported this incident in Nigeria like the way you did. Brief, concise and brilliant.
The Nigerian press is under Tinubu. This is the worst media time we have ever had in Nigeria. Imagine the style of Punch Newspaper reporting during the time of Buhari, when things were better than this!
But some facts are distorted. There is nothing like free distribution of rice. People's hard earn money that custom confiscated and are distributing it for a subsidized price. There is also nothing like payment of stipends to the youth in Nigeria as was reported.
Arise news did cover it
Stop lying to appear smart. Arise News and Channel TV have reported all these in far more details than this simple summary she just made. If no Nigeria media outlet has reported it this way, where did she get her info to report? Those live interviews do you think Firpost were the ones that did it? They got it from Nigerian news platforms.
Stop watching NTA and TVC news. Watch better channels

Floating the naira wasn't going to attract foreign investment when Nigeria's electric supply is notoriously unreliable. In fact, foreign companies have been leaving Nigeria due to it.
Insecurity too
Exactly! You can't power a factory using fart
Who would want to do business where basic infrastructure is non existent?'
Nothing beats insecurity
It goes to show you how currupt most Nigerians are. The level of curruption in Nigeria reflects on how poorly Nigerians run Nigeria. Basic infrastructure, like good roads, power supply, including health care system and clean drinking water is non existent. An oil cartel for that matter!
If you think of how the UAE is able to generate wealth to build and maintain its world class infrastructure, Nigeria has the same means of generating wealth from the same source as the UAE and even more wealth. However, compare the poor or substandard level of infrastructure in Nigeria with that of the UAE and you'll be shocked!
Thank you very much Palki Sharma. the analysis is so accurate. Nigerians are really suffering right now

The hasty announcement of the removal of subsidy is something the Tinubu administration will never recover from; it caused colossal and geometrical damage to the economy!
Do you want to remove a fuel subsidy that pushes the country deeper into debt and a bleak future or cut the subsidy, deal with hardship and slowly work your ways to prosperity? Every choice has consequences
It is the corruption they have dealt with not the subsidy, then work on power to reduce the burden on fuel and diesel, lastly subsidy remover should have been step by step as they study the effects.
@@user-fp5hq5kj2bwhere's the subsidy money then? The needed to deal with the corruption in the subsidy regime.
Eight months have passed since the removal, where's the money that was been used to pay it kept? At least we should have been told "this is the money that should have paid to subsidy but this is what we want to use it for." But no, it's been looted into another pocket leaving the common Nigerians to suffer for sins they never committed
Again, the price of Diesel has increased from the the price we got after removing subsidy from Diesel because it was subsidy on Diesel that was first removed like two years ago. So, the price we bought up to November 2023 was still #800 per liter and since then, it has been changing, it's now #1,300 since January and since we do not have stable electricity, that's what industries use to produce and the cost is also reflecting.
@@user-fp5hq5kj2b The government can't subsidize the entire economy by billions of dollars, turn it off overnight with ZERO plans on what to do alternatively, and anyone think that makes sense as a policy. It's absolutely empty-headed. It's like saying we're going too fast so we need to use this wall to stop our car. No, that's a dumb solution. It seems to be one of thr bigger issues with Nigerian leaders, in addition to being corrupt they're also just not that intelligent
Palki nailed it

Even wealthy countries like Canada people are suffering, mostly done by weak leaders in our case Justin Trudeau spending and giving too much money away while it's citizens are going hungry and homeless and poverty is going up and up.
Nigerians are suffering. Tinubu government is killing Nigerians 😢
Nigeria is properly ruddered should have no business bending to the IMF demands. There's no nation that made gigantic progress economically by listening to the IMF. The main interest of the IMF is the opening of global markets in a structure that benefits already developed economies.
Tinubu is inept. He has nailed Nigeria's coffin. My country may never recover. 🇳🇬

Aptly described by Palki.
The real issue is that tinubu floated naira 2 weeks after subsidy removal which has caused a 300% devaluation of the local currency naira, so purchasing power is low.
I would say if Nigerians went to the polls to vote for Tinubu as their president, then they deserve what ever they are going through.
The problem with Nigeria is tribalism. The Fulani and the Yorubas are working together to ensure they other tribes especially Igbos away from government thereby frustrate them with neck chocking policies. The more the brought those harsh policies the more the economy nose dive. That is the issue in Nigeria.
The government is trying to make Nigeria a more credit worthy Country to the international community and it's been tough on the masses .It's just like when you take what we call a LAPO loan here ,the repayment period is usually tough on the women traders who mostly patronise these loans but once they re done paying , they gain more respect and credibility to access more opportunities. We only have to appeal to the lenders to soften our repayment terms in view of the circumstances of the poor masses and of the precarious situation that the President finds himself in. That's my humble take on the issue . Ma'am
I cant stop appreciating you enough, you are the best

It comes down to this: keep the fuel subsidy, and remain perpetually in debt, with a bleak future or cut the subsidy, suffer pain while slowly walking your ways back to economic stability and freedom. Most Nigerians agree with the president that cutting the subsidy is the right step.
Nigerians have been suffering from long. My heart goes out for them 😢
At inauguration diesel sells for NGN688 Today it sells NGN1,500. Thanks for reporting Nigeria
Thank you Palki for highlighting the struggle in our beloved country Nigeria. Can you throw more light (internationally) on the despicable political state where greedy political leaders live large and fat @ the expense of poor Nigerians? They have turned hardworking, contented people into angry men and women. They consistently ask the poor to tighten their belts but are buying billions of Naira worth of official vehicle at such a time as this and loot on a regular! It is not only the removal of fuel subsidy (which has always been a muted way of milking the country for long) that is plunging people into this dire situation, it is complexities of issues which the current politicians are not ready to fix because it that is not their aim and objective. What about the insecurity that has sent most farmers out of their farms and consequently increased hunger? Some problems are global, I do agree but Nigeria’s case is peculiar!!
When you say 35%, that is different from the reality on ground. We are having over 120% food inflation especially on food.
