Thanks, JJ for the intelligent and empathetic analysis. I think Stephen A and Mad Dog are suffering from repetitive lack of comprehension injuries. It’s impairing their ability show up for their team and provide solid, defensible analysis. ESPN needs to find a way to get them their money, but force them to retire for the good of the organization.

As a Pels fan, this season should’ve been better, but Trey step up huge! Willie needs to use adjustments more and run plays for Trey, honestly just plays in general.

Great interview as usual! Tommy laughing as JJ describes the play that the Celtics used to run is beyond cringy. It’s one thing for a seasoned veteran with nba experience to comment on the evolution of the NBA and why certain things just wouldn’t work today whether you agree or not. I know a lot of vets from the 80’s and 90’s are critical of what JJ has said but they cannot deny that he has a lifetime of basketball experience at the highest level. I will say that if JJ is so quick to call out his fellow espn analysts who don’t have any professional basketball experience he should probably do the same to his podcast cohost when he laughs at the plays of one of the greatest basketball teams in the history of the NBA. The game evolves just like everything else in this world. Without those who came before the game wouldn’t be what it is today. There’s nothing wrong with respectfully acknowledging the differences the way JJ does. I’ll admit that I’m often annoyed by Tommy’s comments on the podcast but I can appreciate his contribution. This was just too cringy.
Shut up, if a team today ran that play, everybody would laugh at them. Just because something was effective then, doesn’t mean you can’t laugh about it.
