Swedish vs Romanian - Language Challenge in Stockholm

- Language challenge between a Swedish guy and a Romanian girl. I'm trying to speak Romanian and she's speaking Swedish. She is actually quite fluent in Swedish whereas my Romanian could use some lessons. We filmed this in Stockholm Old Town, on Stortorget outside the Nobel museum.

Romanian is such a beautiful language, my friend from high school studied it and now she works as a translator in a company here in Serbia.

Romanian resemble a little Italian, French and Spanish. well I think about these language.
And Romanian is beautiful. I am native Spanish, I am from Mexico.
The romanian language is latin , a member of the romance languages family - italian ,spanish,french,portuguese ...the closest language to us is ...italian (77% share lexical similarity) , the name of the country came from the italian capitale - ROMA ... it is correct to say we are like "italians from east with a little bit of slavic accent" ,because we are surrounded by slavic countries and along the centuries we loaned slavic words in our language.
TIP: so ,if you know well italian language ,then you will learn fast romanian language ,also is available viceversa ,if you know romanian well ,then you will learn fast the italian language ;)

Thank you for that funny video! Very good challenge! I am romanian, I speack three languages, I know it is not easy for swedish people to speack a latin language without any base. I try to learn swedish and my english is helping me very much, but I am also fluent in french and that helps me to understand other latin languages, as Italian, spanish and portuguese.

As a Romanian all i have to say is that the Swedish language is....unique but very hard. Some words ( from this video ) i can pronounce but some....

is realy funny to hear a swidish guy try speak romanian :) no offense but is funny. romanian languege have diacritics (Ă ă Â â Î î Ș ș Ț ț) the simple one is Ț | ț sound like double z on piZZa if you want or TZ and Ș | ș sound like sh on refreSH.

In Spanish we also call it bicicleta, except ci is pronounced as si.
And the final vowel differs. In Romanian it's ă, not a. By the way, I'm Romanian and I teach Spanish. Depending on where you're from, ci may not be pronounced si, either. Are you from Latin America or from Spain?
Actually Albanian is not that hard the grammar is quite simple , however we have 36 letters in the alphabet.

It's so funny and weird when you actually pronounce some words right (like 2:42), I forget for a second you're not Romanian.

Nope, he's right, compared to most everyone (and especially other latin language speaking fellows) it feels that if you took the time, you'd really blow this thing out of the water.
Probably because swedish has the same points of articulation of sounds, a similar cadence, and a lot of vocals (which include ours).

This was fun, but I couldn't have done the Swedish version. Min 4:10 needs an update on the diacritics: "Am omorât un gândac de bucătărie cu o rachetă de tenis."

Swedish, but linguistically close to Danish in sound, but not in spelling.
