Thanks for watching friends. In case you missed this video, here's a behind the scenes look at filming big great white sharks in California. ruclips.net/video/KEr-ANmtEgk/видео.htmlsi=F0uA8exQmUKizeFh
I'm not a marine biologist, but I can imagine how valuable this 9 minutes of footage can be to them. I suspect, pragmatically, great whites are equally as curious as dolphins; incredibly fascinating to watch this - thank you, Carlos!
The footage of the dolphins using their echo-location in unison to access the shark was amazing! 🦈🐬🐬And very eye-opening to know they don't always chase sharks away, like so many of us were led to believe.
This is the most interesting Shark dolphin encounter you have ever posted. Incredible. I look forward to future videos of these encounters and hearing your perspectives. Fantastic. Thank you
I found your channel way back in the beginning and have followed your journey. It has been so educational to both you and I! I am a waterman for life and find the ocean fascinating since childhood. Thank you for publishing your evidence and mana’o!!!
Agreed. There's so many fringe shark channels out there spewing credulous myths aplenty. Carlos, to the contrary, has a very credible channel with exceptional content that has attracted the attention of the world's top shark biologists and researchers. 🏆🦈
Here in Hawaii, we don't recommend swimmers to swim with wild dolphins in the ocean, since tiger and great white sharks follow the dolphins seeking the young and sick dolphins to attack and eat them.
Somehow it feels like you contributed more to shark conservation with your drone footage than many others who go on dive expeditions for years or even decades. Keep up the good work, I enjoy it a lot! 🥰
That’s because everyone else attracts them unnaturally with chum and dead fish, so they get the behavior of a shark expecting to clean up dead animals.
@@stephencook7337 I rather think of the filming of a newborn Great White shark when writing that he adds more to shark conservation than most dive expeditions I have seen in documentaries and such.
Totally agree...in the 80's almost every white shark documentary was all about maneaters/killing machines led to boats for cage diver footage with chum lines and tuna chunks. Unnatural as hell. All this drone footage is the most real and natural behavior footage to exist.
Hahahaha! Incredible footage, sir. Especially the end when the dolphins intentionally and aggressively charged (under) the great white (hopefully just to annoy him/her). I also loved the idea that earlier the lone great white wanted to be part of the dolphin pod. That was a beautiful thought. "NAAAAAAATURE!"
Fantastic footage... As always. I can't wait for you to put out content every week... I do understand that there is an extreme amount of time and patience that goes into every video, and for that I thank you. Lovely job.
I love your videos. What kind of drone do you use? I volunteer for a search and rescue. We just purchased two DJI drones (M30T and M3T) and I am very concerned about crashing it over rivers and lakes.
I absolutely love your fact over myth content. Your footage is likely the most informative and insightful into the lives and behaviours of these relatively misunderstood and unknown, awesome, creatures. Im amazed at how inquisitive and sensitive Great Whites actually are. Thank you
WOW!! That's incredible. I want your life!! Beautiful, and indeed that 's the first time I've witnessed a "surprised" reaction from a big shark. Thank you!
Great Stuff Carlos, I am not sure I have seen any film of Dolphins actively chasing a white, another first time behavior captured. Every video shows me a little bit more of these beautiful creatures, epic work shining a light on the true life and nature of the White Shark and it's very different to the monster portrayed in most media they feature in. As ever, keep em coming and hope you had a lovely thanksgiving with your family.
This truly amazing footage. Obvious, lots of dedication was invested in observation and interpretation of these magnificent creatures' behaviors and interactions. Very grateful to you (and associates.) Peace.
This just goes to prove just how little we know of nature and even more so about our oceans. Truly astonishing footage supported by brilliant narration.👏
TY4 the inspiring video! Dolphins do seem to like to bother the sharks for fun & not the other way around as you've shown here, but what if the sharks are really hungry LOL! You mentioned orcas at the end, they're my very favorite to watch❤ then whales, then sharks, then dolphins but I love them all the same! ❤❤
More beautiful shark footage Carlos. 🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈 The idea that dolphins save people from sharks is just people anthropomorphizing dolphins and wrongly demonizing sharks. The sharks are not the problem, the people are.
It is known that for sharks, a large group of objects merge into one. It is quite possible that it was not dolphins who protected a person from a shark - they sought to surround him, because the more of them there are, the lower the risk for each individual that the shark will attack him. And the shark was really retreating because it couldn't pick a target. And people perceived it as something that dolphins protect them.
Learning from you all the time, the more we see the more we can understand and the better we can protect. To see two very smart predator species moving around each other and interacting is fascinating
From Hawai'i and I can honestly say like 80% of the time I was free diving and seen dolphins I always seen sharks near by. I always thought because dolphins in pods are excellent at catching fish and sharks just cruise for any left overs or easy injured fish that the Pod schooled.
Can everybody hit the like button for him? It's a crime he doesn't have millions of subscribers. I'm always mesmerized by his videos. The music, videography, and narration are all amazing.
I grew up in Venice, have spent thousands of hours in the SM bay. 10 years ago I started volunteer diving for kelp-restoration projects. Until near shore drone video (particularly yours), it never dawned on us that we were often swimming with great whites. At first scary, but makes me realize they really don't want to eat us.
This is a very dangerous myth, because many surfers were attacked while they were among dolphins. For a shark, there is no difference between a dolphin and a seal.
This channel has helped me overcome an absolute fear of sharks. I can say I respect them now and would probably still shit my pants but handle the encounter much better.
I remember being around 7 or 8 years old going out on my boogie board with older brother and cousins and almost going out to the end of the Newport Beach pier without a worry in the world out there close to sunset and could even look down while sitting up on the board and seeing sand sharks down below with the help of the suns light and the water not being too deep and murky but just deep enough, and we saw a grip of dolphins going by just beyond the end of the pier. A guy fishing on the pier yelled out to us that there might be sharks around as well. We paid him no mind and stayed in the water with no fears......that was in the 70's....had we had the technology and chance to see footage like this....I would have stayed on beach making sand castles or skim boarding ...lol
Your footage must be a gold mine for marine biologists. I know it's very entertaining to a guy who grew up fishin in Florida on the beaches and bays. Now I'm by the Chesapeake Bay and still fishin. Your videos make me want to get a drone, but I don't know if we can fly them here because of the military bases surrounding my area. I'd like to use one to find fish around the marshes from my kayak and at the beach.
I've never witnessed a great white taken off guard like that unless it was by a human somehow, that's some pretty interesting footage. Thanks for the video
It’s interesting how synchronized the dolphins were in their movements just before and during the charge at the shark Perhaps dolphin shows reveal more about their natural behavior than one would think
This dolphin behavior doesn't surprise me in the least. As an East coaster and someone who has spent a LOT of time on the water, I have seen plenty of dolphins/porpoises in the wild and they can be quite large - up to 12 or 13 feet and weigh up to 1200 lbs or more. That size is enough to intimidate many creatures including a great white of similar size. I personally don't believe that dolphins and sharks are typically mortal enemies, but live together with each other in many oceanic ecosystems in relative peace. Yes they probably compete for some food sources but not always, since great whites definitely like seals and turtles and sea lions, whereas dolphins tend to seek out smaller prey and not of the mammalian type. Regardless, this was an amazing video. Thanks for what you do - your content is ALWAYS fascinating to me !

This is by far the best RUclips channel! Thanks for all those amazing videos! ❤
Too kind. Thank you!
Very enjoyable. Never ceases to amaze me! Thanks for all your hard work!
Very much enjoyed watching the sharks and dolphins. No real aggression from either side. Thanks for the great narration.❤😊

This was incredible to watch Carlos. First time I have seen dolphins act that way. And towards Great Whites!
Really fascinating.
Thanks again 🦈🖤🖤🖤🖤🦈
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed this one!
Probably worth noting the white sharks in this video are far from fully grown. Far from matured even.
Brilliant footage! I have never witnessed anything like it.

to me this is one of your best captures ! I learned something much more today about their interactions.
Thank you for such amazing content and for changing the paradigms regarding sharks.
6:50 truly something i have not seen before. For a sec there the Great White acted like a surprised Chihuahua LOL
haha that is a great description! It goes to show how nimble they really are and they can turn on a dime if they want!
Thanks for your art .it's a wonderful insight to shark and dolphin interaction and behaviour.

Thank you so much for this drone footage. It seems without this new perspective we just live in mythology our whole lifetime.

I was raised on that myth in the 60’s surfing in Southern California. I always believed it completely, now watching this I just feel rather fortunate.
I feel less clumsy now, ngl. Whenever i get scared, i also panic and wiggle around😂 its nice to see such a strong predator have an "oh shit!" Moment😂😂
