Leona Star & Dr. Mariette Chartier [BSc/89, MSc/99, PhD/06]
Dr. Chartier is a Senior Research Scientist at MCHP and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences. Her career extends from clinical nursing, mental health research, early childhood policy development, to population health.
Leona Star is Cree from Thunderchild First Nation, Saskatchewan in Treaty 6 Territory. She studied at the First Nations University of Canada, worked for the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs and is currently Director of Research for the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba (FNHSSM).
