I was a crew chief in the 36th in 1989, Osan had just gotten the F-16’s in ‘88, Block 30's. Ironically the Alaska aggressor bird 86-351 in this video 4:42 was assigned to the 36th when I was there. I think it might have been the first F-16 at Osan AB.
@@ODucks55 I watched the development of the F-16 from YF-16 to the current Block 70, with a front row seat at Edwards AFB from the 1970s-1990s. We were on Block 30G and Block 40 developmental programs there, and this is the first I’ve heard of Block 35. Production includes: Block 1, 5, 10 early F-16A/Bs with small H-stabs. Block 15 F-16A/B got the large H-stabs, some changes in Radios and antennae locations. Block 25 was first F-16C/D. Block 30 was first F-16C/D with GE motor. Block 32 was Pratt motor. Block 40 was LANTIRN-equipped, new structures, heavier landing gear, mounts for the pods, WFOV HUD, night capable, etc. Block 42 was all that but with Pratt motor. Block 50/52 got what we were working on in terms of expanded A2A and avionics, newer IPE motors. This is the first I’ve ever heard of a Block 35. I tracked this stuff from all the cockpit changes, antennae changes, structures, CCIP 1, CCIP 2, JHMCS, AIFF, ALE-, etc.
Great channel !! I collect aviation art books. For those of you so inclined my favorite ones are: - Airshow by Philip Castle - The Art of Lou Drendel by Lou Drendel - Great Fighter Jets of the Galaxy by Tim Gibson
Magnificent thanks!
The F16 Block 40 of the 36 FS are beautiful.

What do you mean by Block 35? That doesn't exist. Did you mean Block 30?
