    • @martinduggan3877

      Hi ,Their is a pitch that a cobbler that knows what he is doing won't go beyond, 2 lifts is safe ,that is twice the thickness of the topice on the heel. Stiletto heels can snap at anytime but lowering the heel a little does not the heel at any more risk.I hope this was helpful .Martin

    I just received a pair today for which I would like the heel shortened one inch....really cute stilettos. If I were only walking on carpet everywhere, then they'd be okay; but, walking on slippery wood, acrylic or linoleum is problematic. I was going to send them back; but, I'd rather try to have the heel shortened. If not, I'll just wear them only wear there's carpeting.

    I wouldn’t bother. Just buy some lower heeled shoes. I don’t care for how it angles the heel back like that.

    • @amandahill6110
      @amandahill6110 Год назад

      I was wondering if anyone else noticed that. You aren't supposed to alter the heel height because the rest of the shoe is made/angled for that specific height. If you shorten the heel height, it will slant inwards, like you're seeing, and eventually, the entire heel will snap from uneven weight distribution.

  • @patriciaeternity

    Girls, never do this. It seems that this man doesn't even know much about shoes. ►Why? ►When cutting the heel, tree dangerous things happen: 1 The heel descends and the tip of the foot increases, placing the foot in a totally uncomfortable and annoying position for walking. 2- It greatly increases the pressure on the sole of the foot (metatarsal) causing pain in the chest area. 3- The heel is tilted inwards and loses the center of support on the ground with respect to the heel of the foot. This point is the main point so you won't be able to wear those shoes. Very bad shoemaker.

    • @allanwalker5894
      @allanwalker5894 2 года назад

      Totally agree, the heel now leans under and looks bloody awe full and will most probably break because of the forces excreted when walking. Hr might have been repairing shoes for 40 years it don’t make it right

    • @martinduggan3877
      @martinduggan3877  2 года назад +11

      @@allanwalker5894 I have lowered thousands of stiletto heels and never has a heel broke as a result of them been lowered ,your assumption of most probably is totally wrong and it is easy to see you have no experience in repairing shoes ,lowering stiletto heels is common practice in shoe repairing .

      First of all, never address women as "girls" and expect to be take seriously by any woman with self respect.
      Second, what you say is only true after a point. There are a great many heels made that have a heel that is too high for the shape of the insole. This puts too much pressure on the metatarsals and makes walking in them awkward.
      Unless you have walked in our shoes, please stop giving bad advice. A good and knowledgeable cobbler will know when and how much a heel can be reduced before becoming what you warn against.
