Being from MT with family in Butte, I had a good laugh at the setting. The author has clearly never set foot in the state, but I appreciate the effort 😸
“Big Brain Brian’s a genius” Not that bright; keeps referring to the mold/fungus as a plant/flora (Fun fact: fungus is more closely related to animals than they are to plants)
happened to us one time in east Tennessee. We couldn't use the upstairs/attic. It was just this creepy old room up there with old timey furniture and boxes of junk. Used to think it was haunted XD
So the smart character doesn't know mold is a fungus and not a plant? I was letting it slip when the protagonist implied it was a plant and that they lacked the botany (not mycology) skills to identify it, but when your stock intelligence character gets it wrong...
That's a minor issue compared to the fact that there are multiple bodies in the basement that have been their long enough to rent the house to a random couple of guys from halfway across the country, yet they have begun to rot? Also the ending makes the story more convoluted as he doesn't mention hearing the scratching noises before, but those scratching noises lead him to the "red mold" and were supposedly the previous family warning him of Hank. Yet the ghost just remained with him to warn him after avenging their death(s)... cause? For what the story achieved, it took entirely too long as well.
@@annatardlordofderps9181yeah, and I am wondering if Brian ever found out about Alonzo's murder. Did Brain ever get involved with the investigation since he lost a friend and has another recovering? Is he just not on speaking terms anymore because he did blame his friend for him nearly losing his job?
Probably why the phone signal was so terrible, and without Wi-Fi. They didn't want to take any chances with anyone rubbing their wood. Not to mention the Hub app wasn't working. Lol.
I've run out of different ways to say it so I'll keep it as blunt as I can - a great story made even better by your awesome narration. I'd be lost without this channel giving me my horror fix. Many thanks CGS !
I had feel like this story had the potential but it fell short. Solid idea and characters were there but it lacked polish and a glue to connect it all together. Let me elaborate. It had this mold, the whispers, and the scratches and yet they didn't seem to work together. Then in the end it was just Hank killing them all anyways. I thought it might be some living house or something and Hank was being controlled by it, but there wasn't much going for that theory. The story just needs polish and glue and it could be something good but it's not a story that you would revisit. But as always thanks a lot man for what you do I always appreciate it.
@@mr.g5593 Because it gets very cold in Montana in the winter and not being able to use the fireplace means you're relying on gas/electric heat to warm an old home. Even newer homes with modern insulation are expensive to climate control in areas with extreme temps high or low.
Come on common sense! If there’s no electricity you still going down into the dark basement?! What purpose? You can’t see anything there and it’s off limit!! Please wait until the light comes back to investigate man! lol 😂 Sorry good story but I was annoyed!! Hehe Thank you for your great narration ❤😊
I find it hilarious when people from one demographic population transplant themselves into another and then act surprised when they are noticed. Makes you wonder about who is the intolerant one, when the obviously expected reactions are seen as an affront or insult.
Larger story. Florida does not have basements. They would flood. I know I worked at a house here in Florida that had one and that's all it did was flood.

Im not renting a house where I can't get to the basement. But the landlord has access and that's where my breaker box is? Not only is that illegal, that's just plain creepy. Yea, that lock would have gotten picked with the quickness.
I wonder if Brian went to check up on his friend and get involved with figuring out the house and Alonzo's death. I wish the both of them made it out alive.

Spoiler alert! Great story! I just wish we knew more as to why he killed them in the first place and stuck them in the basement. If his name wasn't actually Hank, then who was he? Thanks CGS for the longer story today! Hope everyone is having a fabulous day!🤗💜🕷
Same! I was hoping we would hear why Hank had murdered his sister & family. It was a good story but left me with more questions and wanting more story.

37:00 What a good friend. So, heavily wounded, the guy managed to sneakily army crawl up the entire basement stairs, rolling a nat20 on his stealth check, but not warning poor Alonso about being met by an armed killer at least a BIT earlier than right until the moment, when it was too late!? Ahhh! No way, this was not intentional. The protagonist wanted Alonso gone and watch the killer shank him! (Or was just pretty dumb, as so often 😬) Poor Alonso :-(

How did he get the sample from behind the padlocked door?

He mentioned the scratching at 13:50 the first nite in the house.

The house in which they are residing in is not in florida.
Florida is only a few feet above sea level. If you did 4 ft down you usually hit water! Having a basement would definitely flood!
