CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Gabriel (Timothy Olyphant) makes the mistake of his life by letting John McClane (Bruce Willis) anywhere near a gun.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
An old-fashioned cop emerges to foil a high-tech attack on the country's computer infrastructure as Bruce Willis brings back one of the biggest action franchises in screen history. It's been over a decade since audiences last saw New York cop John McClane (Willis), but now, as the world's greatest criminal mastermind (Timothy Olyphant) attempts to cripple the entire country with an innovative act of technological terrorism, only one cop can insure that the integrity of the system stays intact. In this, the fourth installment of the long-running action series, Underworld director Len Wiseman picks up the torch formerly carried by directors John McTiernan and Renny Harlin to helm a script penned by Mark Bomback.

John: “Yippee-“
It was at this moment that Gabriel knew, he f***ed up.
The way he shoot through himself to kill the bad guy shows how awesome he is.
Jon Arnall Pretty dumb of the bad guy to hold him at gunpoint that way. How about pointing it at his head or back.
jdxsr85 he did stick the gun to his head but Thomas was losing Mcclain. He put the gun to his bullet wound to keep him in pain but alive so he could sadistically kill Matthew and his daughter Lucy whilst he watches. Although there was a reason why Thomas put gun in his wound, McClain used that has an advantage.
His death was as satisfying as F
jdxsr85 the bad guys are always dumb though
Like in Gladiator when Commadus was dumb enough to stab Maximus before their fight so that he would cheat?
And the moral of the story is: NEVER turn a loaded gun towards you when your hostage is more bonkers than you !!
Exactly!
That's why on his tombstone, we'll put:
"Here lies the boastful idiot." ;-)
@@Sonicrunner2010 or shall I say, the “heroic idiot”
Yup
I’m the older guy at work and I tell them I’m John McClain. With the bald head
Even if Gabriel had killed John McClane, McClane still would have won. He slowed him down long enough to prevent Gabriel's escape. The soldiers would have arrived almost immediately and stormed the hangar. Gabriel was finished no matter what happened.
Yes because called FBI soldiers in the movie.
Yes ok rigtig
Die Hard 1-4 is definitely one of the best franchises ever; it’s a nonstop ride of thrill and action.
What about Die Hard 5? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
you mean 1-5
@@horserhimself8222 Shhh, we don’t speak of that atrocity

What are you talking about? We totally-absolutely-without-a-doubt-in-my-mind-never got a 5th Die Hard film.
Also I think 4 capped the series off quite nicely. So a 5th film wasn't really necessary, besides, they'd do something really dumb and predictable like having McClane go to Russia to help his son shoot bad guys and so on and so forth.
Sorry Die Hard 5 failed to impress
I actually enjoyed this movie and Timothy Olyphant was awesome as he is in most of his movies

Timothy plays a great villain hes also a fantastic hero and a hilarious comedian.
I think Gabriel is the one villain who's come closest to actually killing McClane. He very nearly had him.
What about Stewart from Die Hard 2?
They all nearly had them.
Yep the only reason Simon didn't kill him easily in 3 is he wanted to toy with him.
@@thatfilmgeekguy And now he is dead! Good!
Stewart grenade in DH2
Karl had him in DH1 but smashed the walkie talkie instead of shooting him
Olyphant did a great job playing the main villain.
Hans Gruber is the greatest, but Thomas Gabriel is also great.

@@AleMedina1989 no Sebastian Koch in Die Hard 5 was way better.
Wait, what?
Yes he did
“Don’t tell these guys that I did that” is such a dad line for me. I’m always telling my dad how funny or corny he is (he loves “dad jokes”) and he always tells me not to tell anyone else that because he has a reputation to protect.
Die hard 4:
The one movie where Mclane gets the drop on Agent 47.
And nikita, and a T-1000, and Severus Snape, and teach use weapons to nick fury.
Yeah
Yeah
joe Ramirez and don't forget playing simon says with scar haha.
Ramona Flowers is his daughter and his wife punched Walter Peck
The last best Die hard movie. I love how incredibly insane the action scenes were that it makes for a great watch. I never understood the hate for it neither. Timothy Olyphants villain portrayal as a tech-terrorist is very under-appreciated. John Macclane is a very analogue man, he does the job with guns and fists. Yet however when the times get advanced and Mcclane has to fight against a tech-terrorist, he has to rely on Justin Longs character as a young, genius, anxious tech guy to help out along the way. Making the old school generation with the young generation both work together to save the day. It's another great way to show that anyone can do anything to help people regardless if you're old or young. Knowledge is key and they both help out each other while searching for the villain.
Well pg-13
Of all these modern-day sequels where they bring classic characters back as older, gruffer versions of their past selves and pair them up with the younger generation, this movie is like the _one_ where they actually treat them with respect and don’t take a sledgehammer to their legacy.
@@thomasthetankengine7307 Just like what A Good Day to Die Hard just did. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😹😹😹😹😹😹😹😹

@@AlejandroP1980s there's a r rated version that's very good. Haven't watched pg version
Apparently, Timothy Olyphant came up with the idea for McClane to shoot through himself to hit Gabriel and kill him.
Man, after this, Santa Clarita Diet, Deadwood, and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, I really hope we see Olyphant doing even bigger things in future. Dude's a legend.
Yesssss!
Tim came up with some of the iconic moments in Justified, too (pulling the tablecloth to get the gun early).
He’s also great in his Mandalorian episode.
@@jalenjohnson1662 Too right he was, my dude!
He also killed it as Agent 47, ngl

YES! THE UNCUT VERSION! THANK YOU!
Sam Flemming what's the cut version like?
Basically, it goes like "Yippie-ki-yay, MOTHERF--" *BANG* in the original cut.
yea the cut is really cringe-worthy
I remember the first time I watched this movie I heard this and thought yeah awesome moment, then for some reason every other time after that over the years I watched the cut version and I swear I thought I hallucinated the fact that he actually swears until I watched this video again. I’ve regained my sanity
The Unrated Cut is better
Honest to God, the unrated version of this movie is real good.
That is right. Once R rated, always will be R rated. Never PG-13.
DJsaxby16 this would have been my favorite movie in the franchise, if it wasn't pg-13
G-Dog I dunno. Maybe the PG-13 shows a little when he doesn’t say it the classic line in full, but I didn’t mind that effect. I thought it was a pretty cool thing, especially since the rest of the movie was already almost borderline R in terms of violence and action. It was also really well-done borderline R action, that I think just saying it in full would just feel like a last-minute attempt for an R-rating.
How is the unrated version different?
@@stephenbruce1548 More vulgar.
To be fair he had the most merciful kill compared to the other main villains of the series 😂
I consider Hans' death in the first Die Hard movie as merciful. As well as Tom's in the fourth one.
What happened to William Sadler in this film
The best "Yippee-Ki-Yay" moment in the Die Hard franchise.
Cytron1515 Na. I can say part 2.
In particular because it’s the first villain he took out directly since Hans in the first one the other kills Simon and Stuarts crew were from a distance
The most personal too, both McClanes as hostages
@SoumaMooncrest
tbf i think gravity takes part of the credit for hans lmao
I kinda agree.
John would definitely want that on his tombstone lol
"Daddy you shot yourself"
I love Lucy XD
Well that's y your dad is the best in the law enforcement, sweetie.
What I liked from Die Hard is that Mclaine is trapped in a bigger " cage" all the time. First a tower. An airport next. A city afterwards and finally an entire country.
I really need to see Matthew end up with Lucy, they are perfect and John would love to give him his blessings after what they did together. The chemistry between Matthew and John were ten times better than John with his son.
I agree!!!
I was waiting for this comment
Gabriel: “On your tombstone, it should read: Always in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
Me: “In your case: it’s the other way around.”
When I first saw this movie I wasn't too crazy about it, but over the years its really grown on me. Definitely belongs in the franchise now.
With the stupid jet and the highway scene? Not even close to the trilogy
0:54 "MISSION FAILED" agent 47 is down "from one bullet" 😂😂 1% health lost
The die hard series's is one of the best series ever
If you like this saga you have to see 24, i assure you will love.
Nicky Read Up until the very last one.
it was a perfect action movie series until the 5th one came out and ruined it
You need to watch The Mission: Impossible movies...
"Series's is"...? That's the most original grammar fuckup I've seen in a while.
The fact that Matt didn't know how to load a gun at the beginning but at the end unloads a handgun on the bad guy is badass.
*Never understood the hate for this film; thought it was better than no.3 and Len Wiseman brought something new to the series.*
I do not hate this film. I enjoyed watching the action despite the rating, and the villain offered a different kind of challenge to McClain.
Wasn't bad at all but 3 is def the best tho.
People hated it because they hated it was PG-13 and they thought McClane was like a superhero. I think that it's fine that he's more skilled in this movie, plus this is nothing compared to the action scenes in the 5th one, and the rating thing is very little.
I don’t think it’s better than With a Vengeance but I agree that it is criminally underrated.
Exactly, the film had to move past the 80s/90s and did a great job of bringing in new fans to the franchise. The haters are really just embodying the "Timex watch in a digital age" and can't enjoy the movie outside the die-hard fanboy nostalgia (R rating, Gruber-style villain etc)
Easily the best villain death in the whole die hard Franchise it’s so perfect and is the most John McClane way to kill a villain ever
Timothy Olyphant did good playing the villain In this film. I like Bruce Willis famous words.
Honestly, I never saw Die Hard before this, but it really made a great impression on me for the remainder of the franchise.
Most fans consider this the ending of the franchise, 5 was deplorable
There’s no one like Bruce Willis... he makes these cheeky tough guy roles so believable 😍
Mary Elisabeth Winstead is such an angel in this good god

Definitely agree! It’s also no coincidence the two best villains in the series are in the two highest rated movies of the series!

Moral of the story: Always follow gun safety rules.
*"Know your target and what's beyond it"*

My favorite Die hard.
The complexity of it is amazing.
"Always at the wrong place at the wrong time." "How bout...yippee ka-yay MOTHERF*CKER!" *BAM!*

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is very appealing in every movie she's in :)
Right up there with the original. So good.
Laughing 😂 laughing 😝 Bruce Willis
Happy trails Gabriel
Funny Truth, I remember seeing this 10 Years Ago in 2007 when i was 7 or 8 & thought it was Awesome! XD
Not in Theater's but at the Apartment's i used to live in.
I believe that instead of it saying "Unrated," _Live Free of Die Hard_ should have a rating that says "R: Restricted. Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian," like the other _Die Hard_ movies.
This scene gives me goosebumps every time i see it. Such a drastic turn of the tide. Just when you think the hero is down and out for good. Olyphant delivers an amazing bad guy, sh*t-talking, one liner and then we get one of the greatest good guy, go f**k yourself, one liners of all time. Just so awesome. Love it
Actually after watching Deadwood and Justified, in retrospect Olyphant playing a villain feels refreshing.
You should watch Go, The Girl Next Door, and A Man Apart (minor but FUN role).
Tim as the charmingly menacing bad boy is absolutely brilliant and playing those roles are his undeniable expertise. No one else can play that affable but threatening volatility quite as satisfyingly convincing.
Another movie you should check out is A Perfect Getaway, such a beguiling and fun character
Every time a classic of hollywood. The bad guy never kills the good guy in the right time. He always waits and says a lot of things and the good guy saves time to kill him in the right time. After that police comes and the story ends with happiness. Never chages.
Yeah true. Mcclain shoulda been dead in the first movie by that german guy Karl
The only movie that had a non classic bad guy who shoots the good guy soon enough was 'Kingsman 1'
This was actually a VERY solid action movie and great movie all around 💯💯💯
The best "Yippee Ki Yay!" saying in the franchise.
Wrong place at the wrong time eh! More like the right place at the right time to me.
Timothy Olyphant plays a great villain, but it's still hard for me to place this movie in the same universe as the first three.
This was a good last chapter to the franchise.
I know what I said.
This is probably my second favorite Die Hard, and my favorite yippee ki yay.
Yeah heres my list
1. Die hard 10/10
2. Life free or die hard 10/10
3. Die hard with a vengeance 8,5/10
4. Die harder 8/10
5. A good day to die hard 7/10
Funny. This guy was 20 years old during the original die hard, and his girlfriend was nine.
Live Free Or Die Hard is the best Die Hard series !!
0:54 Yes! YES! YES! YES! The unrated version baby!! The movie should've rated "R" in the first place.
"Wrong place at the wrong time?" More like the right place at the right time to me.

Best Yippiekayay of all :D.
The most badass scene in whole die hard series
1:01 Matthew surprised me when he had a gun to shoot that last bad guy!
The one time he said yippee-ki-yay to the villain’s face.
I felt that this part has most action compared to other movies in Die Hard series.❤😍
Who’s here after the sad news?
John mclane .... You're one badass
Give it up, Gabriel. No one likes a crazed agent.
This F-bomb should've been used in the PG-13 version.
Back then, the one F-bomb rule wasn't in place.
This film was released in 2007, Oceans eleven (PG-13) was released in 2001 and had two f words
_Look Who's Talking Too_ was released in 1990, was rated PG-13, and had 2 uses of the f-bomb. Both used as F-ing.
Motherf is worse than just at f.
Jbird1004 I think if it is more than 3 F-words in a film in garners an r-rating.
He's not a villain. He's a fallen hero. He didn't kill anyone
Gosh, I can't believe they even had to take this out of the theatrical version. Never mind. I'll use my editing magic.
Couldve sworn it was called "die hard 4.0"
I think it is
It is actual Die Hard 4.0
FBI:FBI OPEN UP!!! OH WAIT WERE LATE
