    🔺Today's Topic:
Cuticle oil moisturizes the skin and the nails. When the skin is moisturized it is less prone to breaking, and so you will end up with less of those hangnails. And when you massage your cuticle oil into the fingernails and surrounding skin, you’re stimulating nail growth by warming up that matrix area and encouraging it to shed more of those dead keratin cells that the nail is made up of, thereby helping your nails grow.
Also when cuticle oil penetrates those nails they become flexible and less prone to breakage. The benefit of this flexibility in the natural nails is that upon impact (say you jammed your fingernail straight on into an object) well, that nail is going to flex with the product and actually be protected. Assuming your nail product is flexible, which is a very important thing I will mention at the end of this video, you won’t want to miss that, so make sure you stick to the very end.
When you’re ready hit play, and let’s continue this conversation

The best video ever. I’m heavy handed as well and now I understand why my nails grow out and it sometime is thin and starts chipping away. I also noticed that when some of my nails grew out they would “extremely” pinch in, I wondered why but now I know why. I didn’t know that dehydrators( using just because not required use) continues to dry out the nail even after it’s been applied which I’m sure leads to breakage especially if the nail is thin. Flexibility is so important to understand, that’s was a game changer. Thank u Paola.

This has to be one of your most informatives videos ever! Thank you so much for sharing this, I can totally relate to the heavy-hand issue and to mixing brands 🥲 I'm a diy-er but I keep thinking if I should try going professional... Your free masterclass was also great, I have not yet decided on which niche to focus... Cheers from Brazil 😘

I think the whole video has been useful. A lot of nail technicians insist on nail oil, which is amazing, but they don't want to admit they overfile/overprep the natural nail. Of course, it's challenging especially when you remove a set you didn't apply in the first place. I also think clients' expectations are a bit out of the ordinary at the moment. Longevity can definitely be achieved, but six weeks isn't the norm and nail technicians feel the pressure. Question though, if the dehydration from prep and pH bonders is only temporary, why does it become a problem?

"Question though, if the dehydration from prep and pH bonders is only temporary, why does it become a problem?"- I can only imagine a combination of repetative application/soak-off removal, not enough re-conditioning by the client, and the hard enhancement is attached a few layers deep.

I think my main reason for nail separation was over preparation. I would use multiple dehydrators and primers. I mixed different brands of primers, as well as thinned out my nail plate from etching too much.

So with the pinching that happens to the hand that you’re heavy-handed with the efile, do you just fix it with a soft builder gel?

    • @PaolaPonceNails

I can really fix it. Actually what would help is a gel that is a bit harder so it doesn't pinch them much. Like Platinum Bond Duo or Bonding Duo in a Bottle by Kokoist.

Only one of my clients gets this separation, everyone else is fine so does she just run on the dryer side?

    • @PaolaPonceNails

That or her nails have more c-curve than normal.
