The roman commander was surprised that Paul spoke Greek, if Greek would have been a common language in Jerusalem then why would the Jerusalem Roman Commander be surprised that Paul speaks Greek?Acts 21:37Tree of Life Version (TLV)37 As Paul was about to be brought into the headquarters, he said to the commander, “Can I say something to you?”The commander said, “You know Greek?
Josephus said that the Judeans spoke and wrote in Hebrew and that Greek was very strange for them. He wrote his books in Hebrew and had a translator translate them into Greek.
@@repentjersey9971 Greek was not a common language of Jerusalem. Never had been, and never will be. The Jewish people never spoke Greek as a common tongue or even as a liturgical language; they always spoke Hebrew and Aramaic as they despised the Pagan culture of the Greeks and the Romans.

Luke was a gentile writing to a Roman official, theophilus. Why would he write his original gospel in aramaic? However, it makes way more sense for Luke a gentile Greek speaker to write in Greek to a Roman Greek speaking official. Yes Jesus spoke aramaic but he would have also spoken Hebrew and Greek. Aramaic was a Babylonian trade language that was picked up by the Israelites while they were in exile.
Door is the the original I seen in a vision the door opened and the handle had a scroll and the color of the word was barrel which is like emrald the stone color of the tribe of Judah which The Lion comes from
I can point out that tribes of Eskimo have 24 words for snow, but we just say snow. Their word for snow change with the type of snow. wet snow, deep snow, size of flakes, etc. So I could see a language having two words for gate, or door and it being translated to simply gate. I see nothing extraordinary about that.....considering that there were many shepherds then....I guess I'll keep listening tho. Maybe it gets better.
🕊️ brother why do you use the name Heyzeus? You do know the Greeks translated messiah's name to pay homage to their Greek god zeus. 🕊️ Messiah IS Yahusha Hamashiach 🙏 HalleluYah Ahmein Not Heyzeus aka Jesus.. those that are called chosen do not worship in spirit alone but in Truth
It is a Catholic myth that the Jews did not speak Hebrew at the time of Jesus. They say this to diminish the importance of Hebrew. Please read Acts 22:2, Luke 23:38. In newer translations they even changed the Greek Ἑβραϊκοῖς to English Aramaic
Jordan Lindo we know Hebrew is the correct translation in these both, not because earliest papyri say Hebrew but also the majority do. When a verse is at question, and both the earliest manuscripts say a certain word and the majority... that in scholarship of scripture is considered , a most definite. Plus in the Acts verse , if you continue on to read , Paul states that he learned under Gamaliel, now if one knows anything about Hebraic history and the history of the Sanhedrin , Gamaliel was from a line of great teachers of the Torah and considered a great teacher, hence he was Gamaliel the Elder.. so what I’m getting at is, why would Paul say this verse in Aramaic (which I do believe he may have known how to spoke) , if he goes on to say he learned Jewish law and was schooled in Jewish customers .. it only makes sense from the context of what he says that Hebrew , is the only word that makes sense. Yeshua did speak Aramaic and it was most likely his first language and what he spoke in his home and to his Talmudim , but that doesn’t mean that Luke writing to an obvious Greek audience has to be writing in Greek or that every piece of scripture that involves Yeshua was originally written in Aramaic.. I do believe Matthew may have been originally penned in Hebrew , due to many early church fathers staying so and also stating that these Hebrew Scriptures If Mattiyahu were layed up in a specific place( please forgive me I forget exactly the church father or exactly the place , but please look into it and you will find this to be true)
References would be nice. Which manuscripts show the two different translations?

Great informative expression of FACT based theological studies.
Yes, King James uses Gate (Strong's Number: 4439), while the NASB uses Door (Strong's Number: 2374)

Not really Aramaic is old then you think and I believe Aramaic was first.
You need to do more research Greek was actually frowned upon
