  • If the Spice Girls where the face of Girl Power in the 1990s, than Garbage where the spirit. Exploding out of Madison, Wisconsin, the group initially started as a vehicle for producer Butch Vig to start preforming his own music again. Having masterminded some of the most iconic records of the decade, such as Nirvana’s Nevermind, the Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream and Sonic Youth’s Goo, Vig was eager to get back in front of an audience. After a chance encounter, Scottish singer Shirley Manson joined the group, turning them into a band that sounded like no other. In this interview they talk about their wide ranging influences, the grueling tour schedule that won them fans around the world and how strange it was to perform on a James Bond soundtrack.

Beautiful Garbage has stood the test of time. It's my personal favorite album of theirs. And that's saying A LOT! I saw the Beautiful Garbage tour in beautiful Myrtle Beach in 2002 and realized on the spot that they are also one the best live acts ever! And continue to be, amazingly.
