Such a shame we’re losing all of these amazing buildings only to be replaced by bland stucco boxes. A night out at a restaurant like this would’ve been a special event! Thanks for sharing, Adrian.👍🗿🧉
I worked on it helping the owner first up chain link fence, its now rod iron, we also cleaned it up inside, kicked out the bums... i still work for the owner at another buisiness he owns, he saving to get the finances to open it back up.,
I recently started working near this building so I see it almost every workday. Sadly it is in a little worse shape that when you filmed this. The neighborhood is a straight zombie village at night and not much better in the day time lots of homeless and drugged out people around. Very sad looks like it was pretty rad at one time. Just down the street a couple hunder yards if that is a Mexican place that has been there since 1951!!! That looks great! Thanks for the great video and history
@@scottgoyette3154 thanks for the update on the area. At the time I filmed this the neighborhood felt a tad rough around the edges but not super sketchy (during the day at least). I can see why it would feel different at night.
We were able to talk to a caretaker while we were there. He said the building has been empty for a long time but he's been tasked with maintaining it. Maybe the owner eventually plans to reopen it? Crossing my fingers for something cool in the future.

Thank you for this amazing look back! I feel nostalgia for an era I was never alive for. THanks for preserving these pieces of history.
Thanks for watching!

I know right? These cool old buildings aren’t so common anymore. Such a bummer.
Love love this!!!
Thank you!
How cool 👍🗿😎 I think I remember driving by this building as a kid 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😎🍹🌴
I’d been wanting to check this out for years but I’m never in San Bernardino!
Great vid.
Thanks Kevin!
Nice segment. The research is fascinating!
Thanks Marcus!
That was great, thanks for sharing! Maybe with it on RUclips locals will chime in with additional info.
I remember there was some info about it on Tiki Central. I wish it wasn’t down!
I went to that building when it was a Chinese restaurant.
You did? How long ago was that? You have any photos by chance?
@@polynesianpop It has to be over 5 years ago at least. No, unfortunately no pictures.
@@arrowheadh2o410 I wonder how long it's been closed. It looks like it's been vacant for a while.

@@davidc250 that's good news! We spoke to a caretaker through the fence when we were there. Was that you?

Good job! Too bad someone can’t buy the building and turn it into a Tiki Bar.
