Steve Vai was also one of Sugizo's influence when he picked up guitar. Sugizo used to practice on Steve Vai's stuff when he learns how to play guitar. Other than his violin skills, that probably also explain why Sugizo has so much legato in his playing style.

@acaftermath this is closer to Joe Satriani's album, 'Engines of Creation'. However, calling him a Japanese Steve Vai or Satriani does a disservice to the unique talent that is Sugizo. I'm a huge Luna Sea fan so I could be a little biased. ;) :)

so vai-ish, but it's amazing.
Ok that's a bit like Vai but much more like Sugizo... should I say better? When it comes to tone- for sure o.O!
sometimes vai gets really weird... too weird, I mean, vai sometimes just focus on speed and forgot the music... but hell of show when vai in stage.
@acaftermath he's much more creative then vai...vai always uses the same licks...
