Looks nice on the outside. But unless you like to climb steep hills you will never come by any nature in this town. There is not even a single park in Heidelberg. So this will drain your emotions and energy down slowly over time. It's a good city to visit once or twice as a tourist but in my opinion no good place to live.

What? You don't know this town at all! Heidelberg is surrounded by pure nature and there are many possibilties having activities outdoors! No parks in Heidelberg? Where have you been? Perhaps in the Boxberg area , the only ugly place in Heidelberg. There are many parks in Heidelberg in all parts of the town, even in the Old City. No large parks like in U.S. A. but claiming there would be no parks or nature is simply a lie! You have no clue at all! Never heard such bullshit!

@@sabine4759 I lived there for 3 years. People who come from there will not recognize it and think that it is normal that a "park" has either the size of only 50x100 meters and is surrounded by heavily driven streets or you have to pay entry for it :D

@@Kupferhans I can 't imagine that you "lived here for three years"! I mentioned that the parks are not large but nevertheless are parks! And in my whole life I didn't pay anything for being there! Obviously you don `t know Heidelberg at all otherwise you wouldn't write such a nonsense!

@@sabine4759 Ok Luisenpark in Mannheim and the Schlosspark in Schwetzingen were the ones that I had in mind. They are of decent size but sadly you have to pay for entry.
Of course in Heidelberg you can go to the Bismarckplatz-"park" and relax listening to the beautiful sound of traffic.

@@Kupferhans Weststadt, Handschuhsheim, Neuenheim, Rohrbach you can find also parks! Luisenpark and Schwetzingen don 't belong to Heidelberg .You can 't compare American parks with our parks here , especially not with an Old University town. Bismarckplatz was far more larger when I was a child, but they cut it short in the nineties because they changed the style of Bismarckplatz.
