Did your blue-tack trick putting a Trak Racer D shape rim on my CS button box. You are a legend 👊
Interesting how they have their logo printed on the control box even when they are eventually covered by the yoke.
They'll probably sell the hub separately at some point. It makes sense to have their logo if that happens.
I emailed them asking around 4 months ago to ask if they were planning on selling it separately as I'd be buying a moza base and a few hubs if they did, & they did actually reply and say that that was a future prospect so I'm assuming it won't be much longer, & I have the r12
Anybody knows if the will work with the Fanatec clubsport GT rim? It looks like the OMP 320 wheel used in this video.
I replaced CS standard one with FH320 Dim Sim rim (320 mm). Now it weights 1,8 kg. It fits a little bit better than yours Turn R305, but still problematic to reach top buttons because there isn't much space between button plate and the rim itself. Moza now started to sell ES wheel from r5 bundle separately, and it fits all Moza bases apparently. Also they start to sell ES Formula Wheel mod. I think 28 cm ES wheel weights about 1,2-1,4 kg and it would be so much better than mine 32 cm 1,8 kg.
I have the ES formula mod here. Though, my ES button plate is one that only works on the R5.
ES wheel will actually not work with the R9 V1, and the R16/R21
Do you mean the Fanatec Forza wheel when you say FH320?
@@victorcatorz5731 bij?
@@antoshechka dont know why I typed it like that. I've changed it now.
Hi mate, i had my heart set on pairing the sparco P310 with the RS V2 when it comes out. After seeing your vid you siad it wont go because of the back of the horn buttons getting in the way. If ther was some diy done to remove the horn buttons or atleast the part sticking out the back, would this rim and button box go together then? Or is ther other fitment issues aswell?
Cheers
It's more than just removing those buttons, as some of the suede and synthetic material will also need to be cut back. Maybe that could be done in a tidy way, but you will need to do some butchering to fit the P310.
@@SimRacingCorner yeah i did see the suede covering that.
Ide prob take to a pro upholsterer to cut out a neat circle and glue the edging down so its nice and neat. Then look at what needs to be takin off the back of the horn buttons to make it flush with wheel.
That being said do you see any other fitment issues combing that wheel and box together?
Cheers for getting back to me to mate 👍
Other than the things I've mentioned, there's nothing else that will be a problem. There's enough clearance for your hands with this combo.
@@SimRacingCorner thanks heaps mate.
Either way ill be grabbing that sparco rim in the near future because i have moza quick release adapter.
But i really wonna pair it with the box.
Cheers 👍
What diameter was the last wheel?
Obviously, CS wheel would be great with 300mm round wheel, as that, as I understand, is the best allrounder for budget wheel, but then again, it would have to come with it directly, to be a budget option really, instead of spending extra on replacement rim.
EDIT: Also, weird that they do not advise to replace the rim, as it really seems like they designed it for it. Gave it a big round wheel rim, which could be replaced for smaller GT style rim, but I guess they more likely did it, to provide alternative to their GT style wheels.
The Turn Racing rim is 305mm.
Likely just for warranty reasons. If any internals are damaged or faulty, it's hard to prove if it was from the user replacing rims or them. It's to protect yourself as well should any manufacturing defects arise.
It's obviously low risk though but done at your own risk, you will void the warranty.
Yeah, it's a warranty thing, I believe.
I’ve got the Turn 320mm which fits perfectly being that little bit bigger.
Hey bud,
Could you make a educative video about different rim sizes and which rim is size and type is suited to which type of car and how many wheels is an ideal collection with some recommendations.
Just an idea for a future video.
Thanks.
Thanks, that is a good idea. It is a video I have considered before. I'll ponder on that one and see if I can make that happen.👍
What’s the model of all wheels please ?
The ones that I didn't mention the models are OMP Trecento (300mm round), and OMP Superquadro (320mm D-shape)
Do you think that omp wheel would work with the es hub wheel ?
No, the ES rim is packed with buttons that get in the way of all standard third-party rims. You can find some custom rims on AliExpress that are cutout to support the ES.
I hava CS and I dont like its heavy for R9. But this replacement solve is good solution.
I've also discovered the Fanatec Porsche 911 GT3 Rim fits CS perfectly, that's a good option too.
@@SimRacingCorner How much weight seperate and togehther ? Pls share your knowledge :)
@@bersanguzel2263 I can tell you that the Fanatec wheel is around 500g lighter than the original CS rim.
@@SimRacingCorner Thanks :)
@@SimRacingCorner Do you still recall the weight difference between the OMP 320 and the original CS wheel? thanks!
Do you have a deep dish drift style rim laying round to try?
I don't. But for that style of rim, I would suggest just attaching straight to a QR.
@@SimRacingCorner yep, done that with my r9.
Just thought it'd be cool to have some buttons.
Yeah, I get you.
Can i put sparco p310 on moza wheel or not and can i put club sport 2 flat wheel on moza wheel or on quick release and can i put omp kubik suede steering wheel or not
Has anyone tried the Thrustmaster t300 wheel on this box?
I can tell you it won't fit as the Thrustmaster wheel hole pattern is non-standard, so the holes won't line up.
@@SimRacingCorner Oh. Thank you. :-) I am only considering putting something else on as I heard in some reviews the CS wheel is a bit flexible. Waiting for delivery.
@@finkylinky I'm sure you'll find the CS rim fine, it's not flimsy.
The RS V2 looks exactly same as original RS by the way. Just RGB buttons. And from what i can see the RS button box shape is identical to the CS button box. Couple different buttons is all
which omp wheel was the one that fitted? where can i find one like that or a replica?
Superquadro
Hi! Thanks for ur rewievs! they are very helpful! I love that omp trecento wheel but is sad that the place where qr is mounted onto the wheel is not centered...❤️🥲 (i drift a lot and i think it'll look wobbly...). If it was centered i have been bought it and pair it with my lovely moza r9!🥳 Moza is the best!😅😃🥳🥳
Yes, the Trecento wheel centre is offset a bit. That said, I don't notice it even in DiRT Rally 2.0.
@@SimRacingCorner I hate that i'm a perfectionist!😂😂🙈🙉
@@sleit0n Fair enough! 🐱👍
@@SimRacingCorner intresting! from your videos using it it doesn't seem wobbly at all! Mabe i will try it sometime... Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, for the Cammus review and the racing vids featuring that wheelbase, I used the Trecento rim throughout. It's the wheel rim I've owned the longest, going back to the Fanatec CSW 2.5 and universal hub setup I had years ago.
