So, I’m half Welsh and half Cherokee, and while I know I won’t be accepted into any tribe, I’ve been working hard where I live to learn Tsalagi, to live both of my cultures as much as I can, and to educate people on native cultures, foods, and life. I hope all of our nations can thrive for a long time.
Love your heart
You will always be welcomed in your Native American tribe. I can’t speak for the Welch but I do know this. Blood is thick in the Cherokee culture. I love you from here and I don’t even know you. Let’s practice our Tsalagi together.
I love this guy...he's no longer in this life form but I know his Spirit is still here to help those in need....he is a GREAT GREAT HUMAN BEING ....I feel like he was the older brother I never had...but wished I did..I am sure sure he SO MISSED by all who knew him in life......what a GREAT SONG WRITER TOO........ BETTER THAN BOB DYLAN...

In my ignorance I only know one of those songs, The Cherokee Morning Song....I only know that one because I played it so many times...but I lost my CD years ago in my move away from my family home......I am from England but I have always loved Native American spirituality , I enjoy going for walks in nature and appreciating all around me.....Peace and love to all

Thank you~Blessings to you. I've been singing the water blessing song to all the snow we have here in Alaska. I'm hopeful :) My Grandmother was a little Cherokee woman from Arkansas. She was always pickin' and a grinnin'! haha You made me think of her when I saw you enjoying yourself. Thanks again!!
These songs give me a wonderful, peaceful feeling. I have Cherokee blood in me from my momma's side of the family. I live not too far from Cherokee NC. I need to learn more about my ancestry and especially the music. Thanks for posting these wondeful songs! - Ricky :-)
WHATS UP WITH THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS U NEED TO REPENT OF THOSE NASTY COMMENTS N LEAVE MY BROTHER ALONE OR GOD WILL PUNISH UR TOUNGS!!!BEAUTIFUL MY BROTHER TY!!!😚😍👍👏
yes your right but it's not God that will give them what is deserved for disrespect but the ancient gods and spirits
As one tribal man to another, this sounds so chilled (especially with the running water in the background). As a Celt, most of our music is on the pipes. But if you can listen to it sung proper it has the same affect. Native American people and their culture is just so beautiful and in tune with nature...the only people in the world who truly hold my soul in their hands. Thank you! ;)
There is not much Cherokee blood in me , but enough that I LOVE the beauty of the Cherokee music.
This is a wonderful video Barry, great to see you again after all these years!
Just when I thought I was broken completely past fixing..... I find this.... Thank you for posting this video!

My grandfather was born in Oklahoma around 1927. Investigating possible Cherokee heritage.
In other news, the sound of running water seems to be in built to us as humans.

This is SOOO beautiful, im so happy and filled with joy that I've found this. :D
I think i'll sing these songs to my kids when I have some. Especialy the morning song, everyday. :)
I like the Cherokee songs (traditional) very much. I already know the 3 songs about blessing the water, morning wake-up and the welcome song. I started to learn the language. I read that the language is called: Tsalagi. From the ancient language "Choctaw" (cha-la-kee). Who, that lives in the mountains. Annie/Anneke N.
I heard it was a creek word meaning "foreigners" because the Cherokee are an Iroquoian people and so a long time ago the Cherokee were newcomers to the south. The Cherokee word for themselves is "Ani Yvwiya" and that means original people. HoWa! Do dada go hv i
This video you made and posted is inspiring. I play with water in the background is my favorite. Thank you
thank you...I take these songs with me on my journeys.
Thanks pard, my family are from Cornwall and Ireland, so I'm actually Brythonic (Briton) & Gaelic Celtic. My native language was banned 450 yrs ago by Oliver Cromwell as 4 Cornish Lords decided to burn down Parliament in an act of defiance on how we were being treated by the Norman/Saxons (English). So I can only speak a little Kernewek (Cornish), but its a lot like Welsh (same people - Brythonic Celts).
Wado. Definitely looks like North Carolina... How appropriate that Yvwi Ganvhida sings along with you =)
thank you so much for this my ancestors are powhatan natives my DNA may not be cheroke but I was touched none the less
Fully 1/4 of the entire old original Cherokee Nation is descended from Pocahontas and Powhatan, and we can back that up.

BWB thanks, I studied a book written in 1775 by James Adair claiming the native Americans were the lost tribes of Israel in which he says the name of the most High according to the Cherokee was YAH & YoHeWaH. It does include the Tetragrammatons' YHWH. Have you heard this at all from Cherokee past history & songs?
Garden of Truth and Lies Yes they have it right on the name of God, and they done t even have a bible in their time .

Beautiful job for those saying that he is not singing real songs just know that from what I know there is two ways to speak Cherokee, there is Eastern band and Southern band
Jalen Brewer and that is neither
Good one, Vinnie. My mostly Cherokee wife has one she sits in at the computer. I use it, too, but I'm half Comanche and we're just rebels. ;-) We have a bunch of others we put out for company when we need more seating, but most of our houseguests aren't Native, so that probably doesn't count. Hell, according to unicornpoop09876 we probably shouldn't be using computers, either. As Bugs Bunny would say, "What a maroon!"
Thanks for posting. I noticed the Cherokee flutes seem to be in a higher key than some of the other native american flutes. I wonder if that higher key flute sound represented something different in their attitude, culture, and spirit.
I am grateful for these songs. Mother Earh's waters running through me is how I feel when I sing this song but I do not know what I am saying. Can someone please translate for me. Peace
