  • 10 days in the woods...we made two videos...this one was made after the grand kids were gone...they only stayed 7 days...the setup was slightly different...check out (Ozark Trail/NW Territory tent camping (Gone Wild))...subscribers, please let us know what you think about them both. It was 90 + degrees with evening thunder storms almost everyday...the tarp really came in handy especially when the grands were there...I set this up by myself while everyone else went to Carowinds in about 2 !/2 hours, not bad for one person...Thanks for watching and Happy Camping!

      We rarely use this setup because most sites are not big enough. This was a 10 day trip with our daughters and grandkids (11 people total). They had their own sites but ours was the base. • @darianwilliams3452
    @darianwilliams3452 5 лет назад

    Man awesome I had to use three tarps which came down. What kind of poles did you use to create that pitch again.

    • @dayetyme
      @dayetyme  5 лет назад +1

      You can use any extendable pole that has a cap in the bottom. Home Depot and Lowes sell steel rods (about 3ft long) drive the rod in the ground, remove the cap from bottom of the pole and slide down on steel rod. That pole will not fall, we have an 85lb dog and we tie him to it. Now with that said...with our newest setup we have gone away from the pole and use a 10x10 canopy frame with the canopy off. Depending on the size of your tarp u may still need a pole behind your tents. Hope this helps a lil...i should have been more clear in the video. Thanks for watching and all questions are welcomed. Happy Camping!

    Can you still use electricity for your TV or air conditioning if it is raining and blowing? I noticed your campsite on this video is raised but if it wasn't and the rain got underneath the tarp on the ground do you think that would cause problems with extension cords and electricity? Absolutely want to emulate what you have done just want to make sure I understand correctly.

    • @dayetyme
      @dayetyme  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching our video! Yes...the electricity works fine in the rain. It may not be visible in the videos but we use an outdoor surge protection box that sticks in the ground and keeps the connections elevated and dry. Alot of people use them for Christmas lights outside their homes. There are some camping hack videos on YT where people use Tupperware containers to keep connections dry. Hope this helps....Happy Camping!

    How do you decide which tent to go with for your kitchen setup? I was looking for one tent in a older video and couldn’t find it?
    I was thinking about Ozark Trail Connectent... what would you think about that as a kitchen setup

    • @dayetyme
      @dayetyme  4 года назад

      If you are talking about the 6 person...I like it! 10x10 should give u plenty of room and u will have the option of just using the canopy depending on weather and length of stay. The canopy is sold separately tho. I have the 10x10 Instant canopy $79...really well made for the price.

    • @dream_chaser7569
      @dream_chaser7569 4 года назад

    • @dayetyme
      @dayetyme  4 года назад

      @@dream_chaser7569 that should work but headspace might be limited...not good for cooking inside. If I were going with that layout I would at least get the 8 person $98...canopy $79

    • @dream_chaser7569
      @dream_chaser7569 4 года назад

      dayetyme that’s exactly what my lady said. After I showed her the 8person connectent. But I was unsure because it’s a “L” shape type of tent. That wraps around the canopy.. Lisa Smith Hi Lisa...this campground has regular 30 amp, 120 outlets so we use US Wire Heavy Duty (cold weather) extension cords...you could probably get away with a cheaper cord but we figure when dealing with electricity, it's better safe than sorry...thank you for watching our video and if you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask...Happy Camping!

      Thank you for responding so quickly. Does your extension cord have a regular household the prong at the end where it connects to the power box at the RV camp ground? Would you please give me the name of the extension cord you're using. And you're right "Heavy Duty/cold weather".
      Watching your RUclips video encouraged me greatly as to how I would like to set up my husband and mine campsite--making it our second home away from home. Thanks again.

      Lisa Smith Happy holidays! We use US Wire extension cords (amazon), regular household connectors...we camp alot and they have taken some abuse...but i have yet to see any damage to the cords...they have really worked well for us...I'm looking forward to seeing a video of your tent camping setup...again, thanks for watching our video and all questions are welcome

      I love it! That's how my camp is set up although we use a commode rather than the bucket style. I love watching you're videos, always inspiring.

    This isn't camping. You could've just stayed home; no sense packing the whole house to take with you! A TV? Really? This isn't relaxing or roughing it. looks too stressful to me, but that's just my opinion. LOL
