      @@BenCossyOfficial Just hope they actually consider the potential of a Bionicle revival, not necessarily a reboot, and that they move away from the GWP format. I've seen many people genuinely unhappy with the GWP method of introducing a new Bionicle set in years and last thing we need is another reboot.
      Not even sure if Faber would be interested in coming back to Bionicle even if there was a reboot, but they still have G3 story which they kinda left hanging so they could revive that with system sets if they wished.

    Mini ball joints are a godsend for figure building with system parts.
    It's a shame that there aren't a lot of sets or themes on the market right now that take full advantage of them, cause they're easily the pieces I use most in MOCs besides tiles or clips.
    Fun fact btw:
    LEGO's old 1970s buildable figures have hands with both a stud connection and a ball joint that's compatible with Mixel parts.
    Get your hands on some of those if you want an even smaller connection point with a bit of a swivel built in.

    • @LucasTigy2

      lots of the mechs use them actually, especially the marvel ones.

    • @skippy6536
      @skippy6536 Год назад +1

      @@LucasTigy2 They're being used less and less nowadays.
      The most recent Marvel mechs especially have been phasing them out in favor of new static limb pieces.
      I'm moreso talking about using mini ball joints in a new character building theme like Bionicle, Hero Factory, and Mixels, anyways.

    • @LucasTigy2
      @LucasTigy2 Год назад +1

      @@skippy6536 and i agree that that's a travesty. i hope they rethink that piece as a whole because it reminds me of how limiting most CCBS pieces were which is what drove me away from hero bionicle G2.
      with that said, there's still a good amount of creator 3-in 1 sets that also use them. i recommend many of those sets as a whole just for their great animal designs as well as the many ball joints they use

    • @Bionickpunk
      @Bionickpunk Год назад

      @@LucasTigy2 Smaller mechs use them for limb pieces, larger ones for hands, just recently we had the Avatar sets use them for the creature limb articulation. Mixel joints arent going anywhere. Like the larger balljoints and sockets, these seem to have integrated with system quite well.

    got mine yesterday, and just opening the instruction manual to that original poster and the message from Greg, i found myself feeling a type of childhood joy i haven't felt in a while from Bionicle there were even a few tears of joy, just to have a remake of the original Tahu, as it's been so long since, and it's going on display with the Tahu Mata made from some parts of my original one that i had back in 2001

    This was a great little set and surprisingly poseable, despite the limitations. All it needs is more points of articulation, and this great set would become absolutely amazing.
    Also, got that Ninjago Ice Dragon Creature to get my Tahu, and you know... given how Fire vs Ice is a fairly common trope, this was probably a smart decision. Like Tahu is in Ko-Wahi and facing a giant ice dragon Rahi. Love it.

    The Kopaka you have made is awesome. The light grey Mixel parts work even better here than it does for Tahu. Aside from the (well designed) head, your moc matches perfectly with the new Tahu. So much so, that I see this as a missed opportunity from Lego. They could have made all six Toa as their own individual figures in this style, and they wouldn't have cost much to produce. Just a fun thing to do for Bionicle. I can honestly see something like this happening in the future if the GWP does well.
    If anyone makes stickers for Toa heads that match the esthetic of Tahu's print here, I'll gladly buy them and build the rest of the Toa. If they end up looking good with a moc like your Kopaka, that would be incredible. ^^

    I got this set for retail price via Bricklink (didn't want to spend the money on a full box to get it with purchase), and I must say I actually love it so much more than I expected! I have the set at a prominent place on my desk at home, and every time I look at Takua's face it reminds me of the amazing Mata Nui Online Game... You know, if Lego decides to make a 3g, I wouldn't want Bionicles to be built from System only, because that would completely kill the Bionicles feature. I think it would be cool if Lego released a couple of buildable action figures from the technic and system, which will have new parts of masks, heads and weapons, and these "mixels" will be released as minifigures in systems sets with buildings and vehicles

    Something I do want to say whenever I watch a video about this GWP: I like it, I think the designers clearly love Bionicle and the community. I do however feel like GWPs that you have to pay huge amounts to get is inherently anti-consumer: let us buy them! FOMO to get folks to make huge purchases or get left out doesn't fit right with the love for the community angle they want to sell us on

      @@ModFactory Yeah I'm certain this came from a good place, many lego designers probably love bionicle too, but lego as a company is making it seem as if it presonally hated the ip for some reason :/
      It probably is because they tried to keep it alive a couple of times already and it didn't pan out. It didn't work because most consumers were STILL KIDS like why would you "revive" a dying ip 3 years after it died like fucking wait a bit, do you even understand why it's dying at all? That's what bothers me, because it kinda feels like Lego is going like "Well we tried guys, but you didn't want this back then, you chose videogames over us, so now enjoy this funny looking tahu system poop :P"...give us a break.
