When I was in AUS, there had been huge forest fires and their were PSA ads on TV showing rescued koalas with their burned feet wrapped in bandages . Needless to say, the fund raising campaign to care for these injured sweethearts was a huge success and I was proud to be a contributor so I like to think my healed koala or its descendants are still roaming in the Blue Mountains . Love OZ and its unique creatures
Bush fires happen in dry and hot weather and more southern (Western Aus also gets them). Our fire season is in Summer (Dec to Feb).We don't really have many 'forests', our rainforests rarely have fires and are more tropical, more northern towards Queensland or the Northern Territory and wetter.
AHHHHHH I've been watching you guys for the longest time and I've just seen your channel BLOW up over the past year. WELL DONE. So well deserved because you always go above and beyond with the information. Fingers crossed my vlogs get this good one day. Lots of love from Manchester, England xx
What a treat to see koalas. Like many animals in Australia, they are so shy and it's hard to see them in the wild. Love your pick of places you show us. Your love of animals really gives cheer to the day!
Koalas are not at all rare or hard to find in the wild. But you need to get your eye in to see them in a tree. In koala areas just look for the people looking up and pointing. Once you have seen a few you will pick out many more>
The white shoes struggle haha! You did great, Alison. Koalas are definitely the cutest, little sleepiest creatures ever 😍 But who knew about the chlamydia?! Yikes! Glad that sanctuary is helping them!
Leigh-Anne Marie All informedanimal lovers have known about the chlamdia problem for years and Aussies have been working on the problem for years. Aussies will always protect their unique animals as the world cares about preserving them.
Aust is so lucky to have you visit.. Thanks for your appreciation of our beautiful land. stay safe and please take care. with lots of love. God bless America. our dear dear friend
Another great Aussie Vlog! ... Thank you for NOT calling Koalas 🐨... Koala Bears! They are a marsupials ! 👍 (Take note Way Away) The Blue Mountains are a wonderful place. Can’t wait for the surfing video! Have fun! 😄
Saying hello from Darwin, Northern Australia. Glad you’re travelling via road, so that I can take notes for our next road trip down that way, haha! It’s a 5-day Drive from Darwin to Brisbane, Queensland (or 4 hour flight), where we usually holiday. Another favourite area is Tasmania. Enjoy your tour, it looks beautiful!!
That area of Australia reminds me SO much of my home state of WV! We even have the Blue Ridge Mountains. And the "Three Sisters" look very similar to our Seneca Rocks. Then, add the country hipster vibe on top of it, 👌. And..the sleeping baby 🐨's 😍😍😍
I’ve been bingewatching your videos for almost a month now (and finally subscribed) and I just wanted to say how much I love your channel. It’s great to be able to see and experience all these beautiful places through your eyes. Plus, I really love the vibe of your videos, it always feels like I’m on the road with some really good friends. Keep up the great work :D
A few things; - ask the bus driver to take you a bakery where you can try a vanilla slice, also make sure you try & meat pie with tomato sauce - roos are out around sunrise, dusk (& yes they're big, & yes, it pays to be careful as they have long claws & can kick ... that's if you can even get close to them, they're usually really shy), if you don't see the roos 'sleeping' all along the side of the road before then :( - if you have time, get some tougher shoes, trust me, it will make you unstoppable - you forgot to slam the tim tams - its bite, suck, slam (put the whole thing filled with milk/coffee into your mouth in one shot) - & you're crazy not liking cherry ripes ... what is wrong with you?!! Last point - can you ask more questions of the people you're travelling with, or include more information in your videos about the history of the area you're visiting, or local information, e.g. about the indigenous people of the area, facts about the animals you're seeing (like you did with the koalas!), or the town you're visiting, or even the natural area you're in (the landscape will change quite a bit for the distance you're travelling in Aus). Other than that ... keep the positive vibe up & enjoy your travels.
You said it correctly the first time Eric. I lived in Australia as a child in the fifties and went camping at Port Macquarie with my brother and dad. I lived in Nowra which is south of Sydney. Loving your posts.
I loved the addition of the map at the beginning and later on the phone - I watch a ton of travel vlogs and half the time I have no idea where they are and I have to head to Google! Great video again guys.
@@BellaDiary I was just wondering how I'd do it too! We're doing a European roadtrip this summer and it would be great to have in the vlogs. T.E.A - any chance of a tutorial? 😜
I hope you don't mean the map at 1:14. All it is showing is the Great Dividing Range. The arrow is pointing over 1200km North West of where they actually were.
I've done a six weeks road trip driving from Cairns to Melbourne in 2015 and I loved it. I'd like to recommend you to visit: - North Stradbroke Island (off the coast of Brisbane), - Glasshouse Mountains National Park (a 1 hour drive north of Brisbane), - Undara Volcanic National Park (a 3 hours drive west of Cairns)
I’m soo looking forward to these vlogs! I love the nature, the scenery, the whole vibe of travelling across the country! I’m sooo excited to see all of the adventures, it gives me back the New Zealand 🇳🇿 vibe you guys had when you went on the road trip 🥰🥰
Two weeks from Sydney to Cairns ? Wow that's insanely fast... You should really try to take your time in one of your trips in the future, you seem to always go full speed, you need to relax.
Nearly every beach in Australia is better than Bondi ... if they're going up the coast, you just have to choof down a track to the most deserted, pristine, beautiful beaches.
Featherdale is literally in Doonside, near Blacktown. Which is Western Sydney! You don't get to the outskirts of Sydney until you hit the lower part of the Blue Mountains.
Ive seen biggest majority of Australia (all the best spots) including the side Islands.. Personal fave has to be Western Australia by a long shot.. Many gorges great landscape.. less touristy than such likes as gold coast on Sydney in the East. You probably done all you have for now but any specifics in terms of adventure. let me know.. Food places may be best for Melbourne. id have gone with Topdeck for the east coast.. Not heard of Kiwi one.. I could have done the Blue mountains on the last day before I flew home which was on Australia day 2013 of all days
I frequently go to the blue mountains for hikes, so strange to see you guys there hah. Seeing everything from your eyes, really makes me appreciate this beautiful country I live in.
Surfing!..That will be fun to watch. Never surfed. Should be good. Sounds like a wonderful road trip. Is this guided tour available for anyone? Great way to see the country side.

it will be fun to see you guys visiting post-soviet countries, very different from what you are doing now. I love all your trips, super inspiring and educational. Thank you.
Katoomba is my home town! I miss living in the blue mountains. Such a special place. And fair warning to anyone going walking, you'll always come across muddy bits on the tracks haha
We were at the blue mountains last week. It was a little bit rainy so that's probably the reason why it is so muddy now. Our east coast trip starts in 2 days ^-^ we're exited
Sad that you've missed the taronga wildlife zoo in Sydney, was amazing & so big! We are going to learn how to surf too, gonna be interesting :D Are you going to visit fraser island and whitsundays too?
Hello, love your channel! I'm going to Sydney in April and I'm catching up with your travels to get ideas. Wondering what time of year this video was shot... looks like May, maybe? Coming from Colorado, I'm expecting it to be opposite weather but wondering just how warm/cool it will be - for packing purposes. Thanks for any suggestions! You guys are a blast to watch! Thanks for all the info!!
April in Sydney should be fantastic - not too hot and not too cold. Expect days in the 70s and 80s, and nights in the 50s to 60s. The Blue Mountains are at about 3000 feet, so are often cooler and less predictable than Sydney itself - bring a jacket just in case.
The whole east coast is stunning, you'll love it. Do you need any tips? And did you notice Koalas have two thumbs? All the cute Aussie animals have some weird thing about them, like koalas have two thumbs, kangaroos have three vaginas, the male kangaroos have two penises, platypuses have a venomous spur, wombat's pouches are on backwards so that when they dig, sand won't get in there and the baby will be safe. Everything is just so strange here. If you get the chance to play with a baby wombat, go for it. They're insanely cute.

I agree. I drove around Australia for 4 weeks and never made it to the northern parts.
I also agree. I spent a week in Sydney and then flew up to Cairns for a week. I wish I had spent two weeks in each.
Wow beautiful..
I’ve been there, loved seeing this, brought back happy memories 😃
I lived in AUS for 2 years. Got to hold a Koala. It hugs on to you like a baby. But it smells of piss and eucalyptus.
Hugo Jaya I had the exact same experience -and the eucalyptus smell made me sleepy-plus the claws really dig into your shoulders! But it was great!!
I’m Australian and most Aussies don’t hold koalas it’s really for Tourists
