Bruh, off bat, MT is very rural, and we had multiple fiber companies come through/are still installing fiber through our state in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. The infrastructure bill also has helped us replace our water mains
One of the best examples of Andrew just parroting some conservative economic talking point is when he said that the national debt isn’t a problem because we have the biggest Navy and no one can collect on the debt if we default. The US is about 35 trillion dollars in debt. As of April 2024, we owe China 850 billion. The country we owe the most to is Japan, owning about 1.25 trillion of our debt. We owe the entirety of the planet about 8 trillion dollars. The overwhelming majority of our debt is owed to our citizens, federal reserve, state and local governments, banks, along with other stuff you can look into if you’d like. Even if we used our military and brought every country we owe money to on its knees, it would only absolve 8 out of 35 trillion dollars of our debt. Andrew basically, without knowing it because he’s restarted, advocated for using our Navy against its own country’s citizens to absolve our debt 💀
While Damacles is right, increasing debt to 35 Tril is straight up stupid and has a direct impact on multiple things. Please dont talk about highly complicated topics and act like "well i found the infinite moneyglitch, why dont we go into infinite debt" Having that much debt is bad for the country, bad for the taxpayer and bad for future generations.
@@devol3829 The problem isn't the 35 trillion. It's how fast we're gonna get to 40, 50, etc. The absolute value is not important, what's important is the rate at which you can pay off interest. There is no such thing as an infinite money glitch.
@@devol3829 Where the fuck in my comment did I say that it was a good thing to have all that debt, or that we found an infinite money glitch? I’ll save you the brainpower you don’t have: I didn’t. You shouldn’t boil something so complex into “Big debt look bad therefore bad.” While having debt isn’t necessarily good, it isn’t necessarily all bad either. If you asked someone if they were in debt and they said “Yeah I’m about 4 million in debt right now”, you might think that they’re in a bad spot. That person in actuality is probably very well off. Someone or multiple people trusted that he would eventually generate at least 4 million dollars to pay them back. The raw number of debt doesn’t matter as much as how well we can pay the interest off. Currently we can pay that interest quite well so citizens, banks, and foreign agencies are eager to loan us money when we need it. Yes, we need to find a way to lower the debt but it’s clear that since all you know is that raising the debt “has a direct impact on multiple things” you aren’t equipped for this reply section.
About the rural broadband point. I worked fiber jobs as a cable contractor blowing fiber through underground pipes in 2022, a lot of people come talk to you when you’re 70 miles plus away from civilization and you’re the only utility worker they’ve seen in years by their home. They ask me what I’m doing, tell them I’m putting in fiber. They ask me if I work for their ISP, I tell them sort of, I’m a subcontractor. I ask them if they’re excited to have faster internet, they tell me they’re not getting it. I ask why, they said it’s too expensive. I ask why they’re talking about because is a “free” upgrade for the ISP, they said the ISP told them the new internet was going to cost them 5x their current dialup bill. I looked into it, the rural broadband initiative was supposed to make internet more affordable. It use to be insanely expensive to the point only rich rural people could afford to get a line put in, now it’s just expensive

But if you dig just a tiny bit, you'll quickly figure out that they dont actually know how anything works. Most people think the President can just do whatever he wants, the entire economy and workforce is in his hands, and Congress is just that big governmental looking place that they see on TV sometimes when they're flipping through the channels. They have no clue how any of it works, and if I press them just a LITTLE bit they throw up their hands and go oh come on, and start rapid fire shooting off one conspiracy after another.

He was debating Destiny before he ever went on to the Whatever Podcast, perhaps even before it was a thing. You're lying. The reality is that he is a successful debater and can hold Destiny's feet to the fire, and you hate him for it. He has routinely been able to step to Destiny in debate, and you're a fool to claim otherwise. There's a reason why Destiny blacklisted Andrew and wants him banned from debates, and it's because Andrew is the person he was begging Conservatives to send, until he actually got sent Andrew.

@@uh-ohspaghettio7826 Why are there so many simps sucking off Andrew? It's insane how this guy has gotten so popular among the right and the RP! I guess that's because they were all desperately seeking someone to debate for them. 🤣
@@uh-ohspaghettio7826 By the way, Mr. Spaghettio, let me point out a few flaws that Andrew possesses. First, the man will often resort to childish ad hominems when he 'debates' against certain types of people. That's especially the case against inexperienced debaters, such as some of those young women on the Whatever podcast or normie guys who disagree with him. For the latter he'll usually call them simps as some sort of thought-terminating gotcha. Ironically he does that for his audience... of simps. 🤣 Next, he constantly uses terrible analogies or comparisons to try and bolster his arguments. Most of the time he does this in debates where his opponents are too dumb to call him out and point this out, which just makes his audience suck him some more. It's ridiculously sad. He can't help sprinkling in some performative laughs too. Also, after you've listened to him for a while, you realize how hypocritical he can be. He frequently criticizes others for things he does himself. Such as when he constantly brings up how women justify not liking something because of the "ick" factor, yet he will argue that men don't like women having a high body count because it's... gross and icky. 😂Hahahaha! Honestly, if I was debating him, I'd literally bring this thing up constantly. I would never let him get away from it. He'd have to acknowledge it eventually. ... or maybe not. Because, there's actually another problem with Andrew. He will simply never admit he's wrong about anything. He will not concede to his opponents ever, unless they are on his side and agree with him 99% of the time. Even then it's very unlikely! That's where he loses the most respect from me. I like humility, and he has none. Interesting for a pious guy.
@@tomv4 Andrew doesn't resort to ad hominems, you have confused ad hominems with insults. Andrew is willing to insult people, that is not the same as ad hominems. You've only asserted that he uses bad analogies, you haven't proven that he consistently does this, if at all. There's a difference. When he mocks women for having "The ick" it's him mocking them for finding something icky for no valid reason or any reason at all, not simply because they find something "icky". His response to you would be that he has reasons for why he finds something icky while they cannot offer a moral justification to find something "Icky". He'd answer this very easily that you wouldn't be able to bring it up more than once. I haven't seen Andrew lose a debate yet, at most there has been a stalemate where either side could take the win but I haven't seen him lose yet. The problem is that not admitting defeat in a debate is an online debate personality thing, not an Andrew thing. Destiny is the exact same, and I say this as someone who was a fan of Destiny for years and have been a fan of Andrew for far less in comparison. If you like humility you wouldn't be a fan of Destiny either, so clearly that isn't the cause for your disliking of Andrew. What is the real reason?

@@The3DancingBananas Destiny didn't have a solid definition of insurrection, as Andrew clearly showed. And since it was his claim, it's on him to give a solid definition, not on Andrew. I do not know how you people don't understand it. I don't think you're dumb. I think it's just hard for you to admit that often, Destiny acts like he's a lot smarter than he really is.
@@Kit-kk9cb i noticed how you said “you people” a few times now. Be careful with painting everyone with the same brush. I used to hate destiny until i watched more of his content. I’m very right wing myself and hate liberals. However, Destiny has made the point that everyone is trying their hardest to argue what they think is best for the country and you have to respect that. Destiny has made many good points but andrew’s debate tactics involve a lot of bad faith arguments. He time and time again tries to deceive people and give them very oversimplified scenarios of their argument and shoot them down. He is constantly trying to deceive. I agree with Andrew on a lot of things but he has said some very outlandish things like a woman’s purpose is to serve a man in marriage and a man has the ultime final say and she doesn’t have any input. He also was trying to make the argument that God would approve of cigarette smoking and not heroin or weed. As if a divine being would make the distinction between one drug and the other in terms of how likely they are to “open you up to demonic presence.” Like what?
I honestly question what the purpose of these “debates” are. Dylan seems like a nice guy but as far as moderating debates with the goal of deciding a winner at the end he’s just downright awful at his job. He’s a good host, I’ll grant him that but that’s not really that important of a job imo. Everyone seems to want to moderate to boost the “content” (ppl screaming over eachother, heated exchanges) but I have yet to see a debate where moderation actually does their job. (Stopping interruptions, muting mics, forcing answers / concessions) This just feels like verbal masturbation at the end of the day and not very productive. I’d love a debate format with some sort of scoring scheme where the moderator is the ref and not just a glorified host.

The issue with rent control is that when you cap how much you can rent out housing, builders stop building housing and when the supply drops the price increases, screwing people over even more than if they had never placed the ceiling. Imagine a world where you do the reverse and build more housing and instead of seeing the price go down it continued to go up 😂. That’s andrews understanding of economics when he says supply causes inflation lmfao🤦♂️

The top ten Home builders build 50% of homes. 20 years ago they were building only 10%. That’s a bigger issues a monopolistic market is not good for housing supply
Giving incentives for builders to build homes in an area might increase inflation, but those same cities and organizations are already incentivizing business to move into those cities and locations - which causes inflation - and you don't see conservatives running screaming to denounce that.
It's so frustrating listening to lies. That guy in the blue hate said no rural communities have received broadband internet through the CARES Act and the infrastructure bill, yet I literally worked for a fiber company in rural OR where I did designs for laying new fiber.
Americans are NOT "struggling". Consumer spending has been going strong along with very low unemployment and a booming stock market. Republicans have launched a billion-dollar PR campaign to convince voters that they are struggling and the result is that consumer sentiment is lower than it should be based on all other economic metrics. The fact that things are a little more expensive is not "struggling", especially when wages have risen so much in the past few years.
It's nice to hear "normal" non-fascist people talk. Both my wife and I are progressives. I'm 47 and been a political nerd since early high school. We live and grew up in the suburbs around Flint, MI. Used to be a thriving GM town, but you guys know the rest. We do ok though. Anyways, it's nice to hear reasonable/rational/knowledgeable voices. I barely talk to anyone anymore, minus my immediate family. I used to be very social and had a plethora of "friends". I used to be the guy people called to see what we were doing come the weekend. I sang in a band all over the state and beyond for many years in the early 2000's. All that being said, it seems everyone I used to know, go to school with, or be friends with have joined the cult. Full stop! To the point where they are all blocked, and we don't speak. Why would they ever listen to a friend they've known 30 something years. Not one of then ever mentioned politics until DT. They are all mostly prideful double, triple, and quadruple downers. It's quite sad. I've tried breaking through, it's futile. Their pride denies them truth and the algorithm blinds them. I live in an area where it probably about 60/40 Trumpian cults. Although, Genesee country is almost always blue. I actually don't think it's ever gone red. Maybe in 2016. I mainly pay attention to state and federal politics, which I should change. I'll stop rambling. Just wanted to say I enjoy the debates, and we both enjoy rational discussions. We only have them with each other these days, at least we have that.
It's a lot of effort for very little ROI. Andrew has to constantly pretend he's intelligent. That's why he chain smokes, it's really stressful for MAGA whenever they have to pretend to know what they're talking about.
Honestly, I understand the anger everyone is feeling for Andrews comments. But I will come out with the best defence for him to date... Andrew gets so heated and stressed in all of these debates that he downs 20 cigs every 10 minutes. If we just keep having him on panels his need for a voice box will come a lot sooner rather than later. I see this as an absolute win.

The reason for the high deduction is because family farms would otherwise be taxedinto nonexistent due to land appreciation capital gains. They are not liquid enough to pay taxes on the land value without selling land. Farmers are a massive lobby in rural areas that have outsized influence in Congress due to how representation is distributed.
Watching Destiny try and figure out the taxes was rough. There’s a $13 million dollar deduction on estate taxes. But there is no limit on the step up basis.

Andrew Wilson is the type of Conservative Destiny complained didn't exist to debate him. Remember when Destiny would go on and on about how Conservatives are cowardly f**ks and that's why they won't debate him? Yeah, Andrew Wilson is the Conservative that came up and would happily debate Destiny every time, and every time Destiny's smug attitude would leave his soul and he would sperg out, to which he would then blacklist Andrew and on this video even call for him to be banned from debates. Whenever you hear Destiny complain about Conservatives being too "Cowardly" to debate him, ask him about Andrew Wilson and watch the excuses fly.
If additional spending in optimized markets, if spending is financed by borrowing from the central bank (rather than through taxes), and if businesses pass costs of regulations, wage increases, taxes, etc. on to consumers through higher prices. So almost all spending increases inflation. Spending would have to boost productivity, be funded properly through taxes, and not increase costs. It is very hard for all of these ticks to balance. Research is the only example I can think of. Research is almost always underfunded, so not optimized, research has the potential to create whole industries or optimizing other products creating step-change in productivity, research spending doesn't increase costs of products through regulations or taxes, and research spending is usually within budget. It is easier to say all spending increases inflation then to try to figure all the ways spending affects the market.
The problem with public debt is that as it grows it has an exponential function due to interest payments. Those interest payments are inflationary proportional to interest rates so run counter to monetry policy aims of lowering inflation by raising rates to limit credit creation. To pay for the civil war Abraham Lincoln simply created currency to pay soldiers with no bonds or gold backing, it was known as 'Greenbacks', the Fed essentially does the same thing today with QE where the CB buys up the bonds another arm of government created, but it's far less efficient or honest, public 'debt' is an arbitrary relic of the gold standard when money can simply be spent into existence.
I don't understand how you don't comprehend the level of inflation caused by governmental spending and it's not even a deep thought. We have literally a half, to over a trillion dollar deficit year over year since 2008. Nothing, no company or otherwise, is a larger driving factor in inflation than the government. Spending and disconnecting the federal reserve from the government should be the peoples #1 priority.
My friend got some money from his parents, it was his first year working and some loophole with his income being less than a certain amount allowed him to sell the assets with 0 tax liability and buy them back immediately . It was something along the lines of 100k and I’m confused about how this happens.
Regarding inflation.. inflation is what happens when demand exceeds supply. If government spending increases supply more than it increases demand, the spending won't be inflationary. For example, if you spend efficiently on infrastructure, (for example) the workforce will be more productive. If you have more production for the same spending, it's deflationary in the long term, even if there's short term inflation from the initial investment.
Regarding gov spending and inflation, I think the easy hypothetical to break things down would be subsidies for corn or milk. It seems clear that these subsidies give us cheaper goods, and inflation is essentially the price of common goods, right? The "people spend more" argument is already bogus because food budgets are partially inelastic. If you get more money you might go out to dinner more often, you don't suddenly buy more eggs. The demand side argument doesn't make sense. If they take it back to gas demand, it's easy to gesture to the dozen variables about gas and they might need to accept that opening the strategic reserve was a good policy move.
I don't mind tangents and side conversations, but I wanted to see Destiny react to the debate, and we would get 20 seconds of speaking before something side tracked Destiny for 20+ minutes. This needed to be edited.
No, those were the people still going in to work risking their health. Pretty much all business men and women and folk who work office jobs were still working from home.
I'm grateful to Destiny. Without these kind of break downs I can see how people who are primed against the left would witness a debate like this and think the lefties lost.

On gaga
Also, I really wish people would stop pretending that National debt is similair to your credit card debt. They work very differently.
While Damacles is right, increasing debt to 35 Tril is straight up stupid and has a direct impact on multiple things.
Please dont talk about highly complicated topics and act like "well i found the infinite moneyglitch, why dont we go into infinite debt"
Having that much debt is bad for the country, bad for the taxpayer and bad for future generations.
@@devol3829 The problem isn't the 35 trillion. It's how fast we're gonna get to 40, 50, etc.

@@ChucksSEADnDEADCorrect.
So a great in theory but ISP, as greedy as they are, are trying nickel and dime rural people for faster internet?
Isp companies are evil, broadband should be a public utility
In my rural area the broadband ended up slightly cheaper and much faster. $60/M for 250Mbs.
In my old rural home town, the entire county got the ability to get reputable WiFi instead of relying on HughesNet or mobile hotspots.

2 mins in and Rob is saying no one has been connected with RDOf. I work in the cable industry and that’s definitely not true. Not sure if every company have hit their goals yet but to say “the answer is 0” is ridiculous

Andrew built whole his career by googling everything he could about logical fallacies, then debated a bunch of onlyfans girls until he massed a decent conservative following. He's probably the most insufferable person in all of the online debate world.

Ironically he does that for his audience... of simps. 🤣
Next, he constantly uses terrible analogies or comparisons to try and bolster his arguments.

So a 2 and a half hour long video of him not watching a debate panel?

This WAs a fun debate. Too bad tiny ruined it with his financial tangents
IRS publication 559 goes over estate rules. This is meant to be useful to the layman, so it may be worth directly reading from IRC publications
Working around this stuff and seeing destiny think he is right on DoD valuations is painful
They're eating the dogs.
They're eating the cats
They're eating the pets
Of the people that live there
they are talking about monetary inflation, the price increase/chaotization is the effect
13:52 "yeah I don't believe in your numbers even if you show them to me"
Regarding gov spending and inflation, I think the easy hypothetical to break things down would be subsidies for corn or milk.
Inflation is also good because it incentivizes innovation.
"it just feels bad" lol
How many of us listen to Destiny videos at work?
Asking for a friend
I don't mind tangents and side conversations, but I wanted to see Destiny react to the debate, and we would get 20 seconds of speaking before something side tracked Destiny for 20+ minutes.
This needed to be edited.
Most of the people still working during the pandemic were working in retail and healthcare...
No, those were the people still going in to work risking their health. Pretty much all business men and women and folk who work office jobs were still working from home.
The moderator allowed a circus to take place.
what a joke
I'm grateful to Destiny. Without these kind of break downs I can see how people who are primed against the left would witness a debate like this and think the lefties lost.
