- In this video we take a look at the Arduino 101 with the Intel Curie Processor. We will cover what is on the board, some of its features, how to program it, some of my complaints, and its power consumption. If you feel I missed any important points please share them in the comments section.
Could you test the accuracy of the 6-axis accelerometer/gyro? Can it be used to measure the angle of the board?
Interesting they are trying to fit this into IoT market with no embedded connectivity - BLE isn't IoT :). Looks like a big miss to me on many fronts. I use teensy 3x modules with great success, great performance and amazing support. Dunno why, just really not sold on this 101 at all.. Despite your review being great! Thanks bud :)
Hi, can you send the gyro and the accelerometer data to a computer without cables? by bluetooth maybe? and which length that connection would have? great review! thanks!
+agustin genoud Yes you could do that via Bluetooth. I didn't test the distance of the Bluetooth, I would imagine it is similar to what you get on a smart phone.

I just got this 101 board, downloaded the intel curie on the board. I saw curie IDE and curie EERPOm etc in the example. But I could not find serial port somehow. I switched from Arduino Uno to Arduino/Genuino 101 board selection. Any idea? I also push the reset button on the board as well, still no luck.
Hello, I am afraid I don't no what the issue could be. I would check in the device menu of your computer if you are using Windows to see if the 101 shows up there. If not then the driver for it probably did not install.
Since it's based off the quark have you tried that datasheet. www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/processors/quark/sb/quarkdatasheetrev02.pdf
found the datasheet for the QuarkSE but it's restricted access.. don't think I'll be messing with anything from Intel it's not a developer friendly company.
Out of curiosity, what power supply were you using in your demo?
+Christopher Powell I was using the N6705B DC Power Analyzer. It has four modular power channels. I was using a channel with the N6782A module.
