Thanks so much for making this though, the 3DS eShop took up several hours of my childhood, it was so much fun seeing all the new releases. I remember even when I was a broke kid with no money I'd scroll through stuff, wishing I could afford all those cool games. The 3DS was pretty awesome, honestly, I'll miss it so much. I love the Switch, but I have so much nostalgia for the 3DS still.
I mean like the 3ds is kinda cool and nostalgic. Buuut the switch has Doom, Witcher 3, Wolfenstein, mortal Kombat, burnout paradise, and many more EDGY and MATURE high quality tripple a games. While the 3ds is more for kids, in my opinion.
Whats messed up is they can add wii u and NES games to the switch but not the 3ds. The 3ds sold like 70mil copies.

I’m in the same boat. I always loved looking through the virtual console and Zelda Games even though I’ve only bought 2 digital games for my 3ds. The switch is without a doubt better but the 3ds will always bring in the feel of nostalgia for me.

The fuzz on the bottom screen may be caused by a mismatch in what the clock speed of the display is and what the capture software is expecting.
Menu -> Config -> Calibration -> Lower screen CLOCK: "Adjust this, one of the numbers should fix the fuzzy screen."
(There may be a pair of options, one for 3D and one four 2D)

Nintendo combined the balances of WiiU, 3ds and Switch into one. He probably added some money to the Switch and they show up on the 3ds as well.

4:15 oh damn I just got tons of nostalgia from that. That was the original 3DS eshop theme. I bought the system before the price cut and when there was nothing to do, I'd just browse the eshop looking at the software I couldn't buy because I had no money. Also shoutouts to nintendo show 3D if anyone remembers that.

@@shardtheduraludon All of them were pretty good. I haven't played any of those gba games prior so they were basically free games for me (except like Mario Kart Super Circit once)

Fire Emblem the Sacred Stones (If you like strategy games, underrated series and overrepresented in smash)

One thing that has always bothered me is how the prices never go down due to age like other systems like Nintendo games have this symptom of always being the same price sense launch no matter the condition or age

I remember getting yo-Kai watch 3 on launch day. I enjoyed and beat the game so I sold my copy back to game stop for 20 dollars a physical copy of that game is worth 70 dollars.

Yo Kai watch 3 was actually really good. It's crazy how much more complete it feels than any recent pokemon game and I say that as a big pokemon fan
Genuinely love these kinda videos. It's weirdly calming. I work on a lot of editing for a lot of people so I often work late into the night, so having these on in the background while I work or heck putting on on when I sleep actually puts me in a place of ease. Like it gives my brain something to think about instead of being anxious.
For standard reviews that you do on one game I honestly think it would be a good idea to stream yourself playing the game for the review.

Bowser's Inside Story was a great Mario game, never got the remake because I was playing my Switch at the time, but it's a great game and I highly recommend it.

I remember in 2015, my mom got my brother and I two 3ds and got my brother Ultimate NES remix and I got happy home designer. I remember my brother liking happy home designer so much, he traded some random game for hhd.
I love that even in his secondary channel, Scott still sets up a joke for the end. In this case, this was an hour of ten minutes of buildup just for the "and that's how you spend a sunday night" bit at the end lol.
the style savvy series is unironically my favorite game franchise ever and man my boy scott just dedicated two sentences to it, i'm LIVING
Someone probably already said this but: Ironfall Invasion got popular because people in the homebrew scene of 3DS discovered you could basically use it to run hacks, kinda like Cubic Ninja. So it was another entry point for custom firmware, although I'm pretty sure they released a patch to remove that.
2023 here! The 3DS eShop is officially dead.
Id like to see if anyone has made recent videos documenting the eshop of the 3ds, just capturing the general experience of using it. I was about 7 when I got my 3DS as a kid and played for years until it broke at some point. It was a used black original 3DS and still had the previous owners purchases and friend list on it. I recall seeing them leave some… inapropriate comments on the friend list.
MadCow or whatever the previous owners name was, hope youre doing good now dude. The UI, sounds, music and games of the 3ds have already been somewhat nostalgic for me. This system had so much charm.

i will say the demo section of the eshop led me to some really cool games i would have never played otherwise, like project mirai dx and monster hunter
keity capture cards are notorious for the USB ports dying on them.
It's just a case of resoldering it back on. It's an easy fix if you have any friends who know their way around a soldering iron

Fun fact about the megaman legacy collection: according to some article I read, their was a sound glitch when it played the first sound, and they couldn't figure it out, so they just played a silent first sound before the logo.
Also, cube creator was kinda cool because it came out before minencraft on the 3ds. I remember playing the demo a lot, in the same world, and it reseting every time you booted up the demo.

It definitely won’t shut down for probably another 6 or 7 years I’d say. Surprisingly even tho it doesn’t seem like it, a lot of people still use and buy from the eshop on the 3DS and a lot of people play the 3DS regularly as well. Since the Switch doesn’t have a virtual console that’s where a lot of the sales are from.

It won't for ANY amount of time now. They sourced out the DSi and Wii servers, so the reason WFC shut down was because the host, GameSpy, died. And the Wii Stores prices were JESUS! Yeah, Nintendo does the servers now.

Weird of Scott to praise the visuals of the 3DS port of Yoshi’s Woolly World, and then brush over Yoshi’s new island, despite the former looking like the visual incarnation of the smell of burnt toast, and the latter looking decently better than even the Wii U version of Woolly World.
20:26 I’m pretty sure yo kai watch 3 came out in 2017 in Japan. I remember waiting two years for that to come out, it was hell. I really liked the game though.

Yo-Kai Watch 3 came out in Japan in 2016. It's successor Yo-Kai Watch 4 came out in 2019. While the a spin off called Busters 2 came out in 2017. Depending on your region Yo-Kai Watch 3's release in your country is either 2018 or 2019.
I had GBC Rayman as a kid. This is such an underrated handheld adaptation. I can confirm it plays pretty well despite the lack of a run button.
However, it doesn't *sound* very well, even for GBC standards...

Love to see you talk about the 3ds scott. My favorite system of all time, being a Nintendo boy since the original nes (im 33). I prefer handhelds and even though i dig my switch, i always play my 3ds much more. The library is my favorite all time and with 70 games, i have quite the 3ds backlog and wouldnt have it any other way
