- Some VH riffs on my new Friedman BE-100 Deluxe, absolutely LOVE this amp. Recorded through a Suhr Reactive Load IR using a blend of Greenback IRs from Celestion, the reverb is coming from the IK Multimedia Sunset Sound plugin.

It is astonishing just how many super catchy riffs EVH penned in his short time. He was a true master.
The King! His rhythm playing often gets overlooked, yes his solos were amazing but man, no one could even come close to his rhythm feel. He was one of a kind!

Yep, that swing's the elusive thing and he nailed it. Lots of guitarists play it too stiff.

I can't be the only one who is astonished by the lack of videos showing these tones from these Friedman amps, when this is EXACTLY what he designed them around. What the players today don't get how important listening to funk, or understanding rhythm is. KILLER rhythm players like Eddie and Nuno both started off as drummers. But, I digress... What an absolute pleasure it was to watch this.

That's some great tone. If I closed my eyes I could totally see Eddie ripping these on his frankenstrat. Also you almost nailed the swing in I'm the one. That's really impressive man considering that playing it like him is impossible.

Rare is the time I can close my eyes almost believing it's Eddie I'm hearing. This is one of those times - you nailed the tone, phrasing and harmonics. Awesome skillz!

Dude thank you so much! I pretty much play everything by ear, and I'm super slow at reading music, so that's definitely not mandatory! In fact you'll get much further by trusting your ears when it comes to rock guitar, at least that's what I've always done! Taking lessons can be beneficial but don't feel you NEED to do that to get good, that's just not the case. Keep on rocking man!🤘

This sounds very very close to Eddie’s sound on the earlier stuff. 10/10 👍🏻 great amp too. I suspect you’d get closer by swopping out those pickups.

Straight out of the amp sounds like to me ..no fancy effects like delay or modulation ..compression ...just a guitar plugged directly into the amp will show just how good a guitarist is ....magnifies mistakes and truly is a representation of what the fingers are doing .. This guy has great technique you can hear it in his fingers .
