  • 30 Cal follows me down the legendary trail on a perfect day with sunshine and clean air. This trail is rated extreme difficulty and should be treated very carefully. There is cliffside exposure that is deadly.
This video will illustrate the risk areas so you can better make a first attempt. Take your time, be calm, enjoy the views....
This day we rode up 947, down 1321.1, then we went down and up legendary 1321.2 Greek Creek to Manastash Ridge trail, then down 943a, 943 back to FS19 then back to camp. A stout ride for sure!

Person with the camera was close enough to knock the other man off of a cliff 🤪. I like your videos but I've been riding off-road since 1968 and I know you've got to put enough space between yourself and the bike ahead of you so if you hit your breaks while in loose rocks which sometimes you won't even see, your front tire won't hit his back tire and send him off a cliff possibly killing him but making a fun day horrible at the very least, SHEESH.

Relax. I’m not as close as it appears. I used the video editor to zoom in a bit to get more detail. That said, I did ask 30Cal to follow close and tight so the viewer gets a good feel for the trail.

I have traveled and ridden all around the West. I can hardly think of any trail or ride that compares to the North Side of Clifty for the combination of all that it is. This trail is visually intimidating, has a dark history, unrivaled scenery, has mtn goats as residents, is part of an incredible and massive trail system while being the crowning ride. I was scared shitless of this trail for years until I rode it solo, at night, down and up for the first time. Now, I fear no trail...

I didn't try that trail until I'd been seriously riding for 5 years. Then I decided a great way to break it in would be at night, by myself, going down and up. One of my top 5 rides of all time!

Just a shame cause the camera doesn’t give the real perspective of what the view is like up there.

Yes, you have to go there to understand the incredible beauty of it all. It gives me a new found appreciation for photographers that actually can capture the scenery with a camera. The human eye and mind are amazing pieces of equipment and we have yet to make a camera or lens that can duplicate that. In a way, it's great, because the experience has to be earned.

Give yourself some breathing room. Riding that close might leave you in a precarious position.

LOL, yeah.... I made an adjustment in my software to zoom in, so it looks like Cal is closer than he actually was. But, it sure puts you right there!
