"The Azov Movement is a far-right nationalist network of military, paramilitary, and political organizations based in Ukraine. The paramilitary Azov Battalion component formed in 2014 before integrating into the Ukrainian National Guard as a Special Purposes Regiment. Following integration, Azov Regiment veterans broadened the movement to include a political wing, National Corps, and a paramilitary wing, National Militia. It is notable for its recruitment of far-right foreign fighters from the U.S., Russia, and Europe, as well as extensive transnational ties with other far-right organizations. In 2022, the movement came to renewed prominence for fighting against Russian forces in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Mariupol." - Center for International Security and Cooperation

Willy casually giving a platform to LITERAL N@zist...
      And i state it clearly.
EVERYBODY WHO KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT the ukranian "crysis" knew that the AZOV ARE N@ZIST.
      It is not an opinion,
      it is a fact.
With plenty of evidence since before 2014.
      Two option.
      1)This guy didn't care to know and joined a foreign war for shit and giggles, and this mean this garbage human being was a stupid adrenaline junkie at best;
      2)This guy KNEW and willingly joined a formation of n@zi, which would make him a N@ZI;
Frankly i am at a loss to which one is worse..

Willy has been doing his Journalistic duties i.e. to present both or most of the sides/prospectives of the conflicts to his viewers so viewers may be able to draw their own conclusions of positive and negative sides. Nazi, ultra rightist, racism, religious fanaticism or progressives, socialists, ultra liberals, individualism or communism, militarism, capitalism and now as Crony capitalism are such phenomena that affect humans, human societies from time to time like a cycle. Banning the Russian media like RT, Sputnik, VK, etc. before the beginning of Ukraine -Russia conflict was quite a surprising act on part of the US & Western world claiming itself as a symbol and pillar of free press, free speech and transparent societies.

Totally agree with you, but it's not really someone else's war. It was a US-sponsored coup, Nato expansionism, and unlimited support of money and weapons to people whose openly expressed goal was to ethnically cleanse the Donbas while wearing N**i regalia that caused this war. The US and its senile ex-Ukrainian mob boss own it from top to bottom.

I think my first comment didn't pass censorhip muster, so to summarize less offensively, totally agree with you. But this isn't someone else's war, it was caused, driven, and escalated at every stage by the US and its lapdogs and fluffers in the EU and, even more pathetically, Canada and Australia, who continue the unequal struggle even as the US seems to be writing off its bad investment.
It took me more than an hour to realize just how fundamentally loathesome this interviewee is. It reinforces my belief that any westerner arrogant enough to insert himself in a civil war on the other side of the globe should have the decency to not come back from it.

This young lad is convinced he's now a very experienced, sage, wise old head.
He seems to not be aware how young, silly and clueless he still actually is.
It's kinda like climbing a mountain. There's always seemingly another rise after the last one.
I'm now 60. And still look back at myself only 5 years ago as being dumb and naive. I no doubt will in another 5 years. If I don't croak it in the meantime.
This kid has got some serious shit infront of him.
I'm honestly sitting on the fence as regards as to if he's "right" or "wrong".
He's struggling to justify too much. He may not be able to continue the narrative as time goes by and he learns more.
As indeed Willi himself has done. He's quite a different Willi in comparison to many moons ago. He's now seeing thing more clearly. Less ideologically, with less simplistic flag waving.
The narrative will continue to crumble.
It's a crying bloody shame. Far too many folk on both sides have, and are dying.

In my dark hours (that are actually bright hours, because they usually happening when I'm in my garden) it hits me with full force: war is shit (pardon the word), it is wrong on so many levels and there is nothing honourable or glorious in killing and dieing. When I tend my tomatos, shrubs or flowers in the garden, I have to think about all those people in Ukraine who did exactly the same thing ... tending to there beautiful gardens, that the maybe tend to for many decades ... nurturing there plants ... having plans what to grow next year ... putting effort into improving their garden ... harvesting tasty vegetables or just admiring a newly blossoming flower. And then realizing that they have lost it all. How it must feel to abandon your home, your very own piece of earth that you belonged to for a long time, often since you where born. In this moment you understand what war really is. I hits on a deep emotional level, much more as all this talk about law, rules, morale, political expedience, strategy and what not.
Just stop. Let people return home. Let them have their gardens back. :/

It seems to me that something important began to dawn on him.
Human life is a learning quest. Each person has his own path, his own task. We cannot influence the scenario of a global multiplayer quest, but we must find our place in it and make our choice.
Conveying your thoughts to others is a very difficult task, since different pictures of the world are formed in the minds of different people and some facts may have different colors or simply be absent.
In the case of a combat veteran, the problem becomes more complex. Personal impressions are very strong, but the interlocutors do not have similar experience.
This situation can break or give impetus to spiritual growth, but in itself it does not make a person smarter.
This boy has a long way to go.
To begin with, I would suggest looking for contradictions in the story.
I went to war to fight for democracy, inspired by the story of a Finnish Nazi who killed Russians and disappeared in Vietnam, it is not clear why.
Pictograms are designed to quickly convey information. If the whole world perceives a Nazi tattoo as evil, these are the problems of the world, for me they are convenient travel companions.
I will not delve into the causes of the conflict; I will already understand who is right and who is wrong.

I am a US Army Infantry veteran, but am one of the few who conscientiously objected when I figured out what an immoral and evil racket it all is in 2009.
I left on my own terms, and on moral and ethical grounds.
There are many of us during GWOT who did this and were administratively separated under honorable conditions.
You could even call it refusal of orders or desertion and i would laughingly and proudly agree.
    .
You're damn right I refused immoral and unlawful orders.
What did you do? Kill or abet the killing of innocents and not even get rich for it?
It was better than doing the wrong thing which is to serve an immoral and illegitimate authority, every day, all day, any time of day.
I dont care what anyone calls it. I did the right thing.
It's the proudest decision i ever made to face my company chain of command and the entire NCO gang at the age of 20 and insist to them dead in the eyes that i would never wear the uniform again regardless of any consequences, including jail or death or ridicule.
When you make those sorts of decisions on your own terms and on moral and ethical grounds regardless of what anyone else thinks, you will be able to deal much better with any trauma and any inbound criticism of others, and you will come to terms with the truth you know deep down and most of all, you will feel free.
You should always admit when you were wrong.
I sincerely hope you find the best way for you to make it right, Justin.
Dedicate your life to always doing the right thing and standing for truth in all times and places. That would be my suggestion.

They surrender quite easily when attacked. Their only real success comes from attacks against civilians in the Donbass between 2014 and Feb 2022. Just because they have swastika tattoos and Wolfsangel insignia on their uniforms doesn't make them elite soldiers.

What does it matter what logo your comrades or the enemy is wearing? A bullet to the head is a bullet to the head regardles of what book the shooter adheres to.
National Socialisme was a reaction against communism. The first Soviet government was 85% jewish. There's a YT clip of Putin saying this to a jewish delegation. This government and subsequent governments including the ones led by Stalin, starved around 6 million ukranians to death. Mainly in the Donbass area. The russsians living there today, are mostly descendants of russians being deported to that are to replace the starved ukranians. It was perpetrated by two jewish soviet generals. It's called the Holodomor. Look it up. There were infact several Holodomors. One in 1932 too. And this one in particular was one of the reasons why Hitler got elected in 1933. Germany had problems with jewish communists too. The communists even took over a German state and because of that something called the Milk crisis occured. There's a famous jewish communist rebel who proclaimed that he would happily watch babies of the German bourgeosie die of lack of milk substitute. So your evil evil nazis rose up to prevent a German Holodomor.
The Holodomors are completely overlooked when it comes to looking at the reasons for the current war. There's a video on RUclips of former leader of the Anti-defamation league Abraham Foxman, where he visits the then government of Ukraine and lecturers them on comparring the Holodomor(s) to the Holocaust.
Some of you may know of the Norwegian National Socialist politician Vidkun Quisling. His name is synonymous with treason in western culture because he was givenn control over Norway during the German occupation. But he was also an aid-worker in Ukraine during one of these artificially implemented starvations. He rescued 250.000 ukrainnians from starvation.
Starvation due to Soviet collectivisation starved 5 million russians to death too. In China 40 million.
My point is this: Extremism is what is evil. Not National Socialism, communism, democracy etc.

A lot of Vets like myself like to bitch about the VA, but I have to say, it would be harder without them. I know the same is true when it comes to the VFW and other groups, I never wanted to join them, I'm just not a joiner, but they for sure help people. He won't be getting VA help or the comradery that comes from the VFW. That's another good reason to not run off and join foreign wars, when you don't have to. I'm not saying I was brighter than him at that age either, just that I got "lucky" in regards to the fact that I was dumb and joined the US infantry, not AZOV. (some of my friends were smart and joined the Air Force, think of it that way, it's a matter of degrees)
If you join and see combat, it's likely you WILL be fucked up to some extent for the rest of your life. At the very least you will be "different", so you need to have "insurance", that's what the VA and VFW are. When I was young I had no idea why people would actually choose to buy insurance. Young people are bulletproof after all, or at least most think they are.
He's right about the petty shit that the average American caring about seeming stupid. Who gives a fuck about 99% of the things the average spoiled American does, right? And at least he's still trying to have a social life and carry on, I personally couldn't do that without way too much booze in my system. I found that I was better off just forgetting about doing half the stuff I used to enjoy and really dial down my friends, to the ones who understood why I couldn't enjoy a lot of things I used to. (Hunting is a big one, I can hunt, just not with other people, which is a drag.) I'd suggest that you try not to feel guilty if you don't want to do stuff anymore, same with feeling guilty about not being able to do a lot of stuff. Figure out what you CAN do and what you CAN enjoy and be happy that there are things left that bring enjoyment. Don't dwell too much over what you can't do, as we get older a lot of that stuff becomes less important anyway.
I see a lot of people judging this young man harshly, but trust me when I say that this could have happened to a lot of people here, if life had taken them to the same place in life he was. (If you tell me you were never young and dumb you are lying) Same thing goes for all us veterans. But for the grace of god, it could have been you. I think about this one from my family history, My grandfather came from Russian my Grandmother was from Galicia. Given different circumstances, I could have ended up on either side of this war. It's likely I have distant relatives fighting on both sides right now, which is why I want this war to end and don't much care which side "wins".
Nobody really wins a war and peace never comes a day too soon.

Sadly the globalist have sent our service personnel to fight and die, or be horribly maimed, or suffer psychological damage in many foreign countries, to acheive their dystopian agenda. When those veterans retire they are discarded by their governments. You would think that this individual, having had such experience in the service of his own country, he would have had the intelligence not to buy into the bullshit rhetoric of the western globalists, and not go to Ukraine. Then I hear an interview like this and am instantly reminded of not only how terrible war is, but how it never leaves you. Your day-to-day activities and thought processes will never be the same. The UN Charter, in Articles 106 and 107, gives the right to the winners of the Second World War - the USSR, the USA, Great Britain and China - to apply all measures against the countries that fought against them to prevent actions aimed at revising the results of the Second World War. In particular, it is possible to use military force against these countries. To do this, it is enough to notify the other three winning countries, but not to get their consent.
Forceful coercion of countries that want to revise the Yalta-Potsdam system in Europe can also be carried out by Russia, which is the legal successor of the USSR.
Russia can stop attempts to revive Nazism in Germany, Hungary, Romania, Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, Croatia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Norway, Denmark, Holland, Japan.
Articles 106 and 107 of the UN Charter also apply to all those countries that refuse to inherit from the USSR - Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania. Their attitude that there was a Soviet occupation and the treaties of Friendship and cooperation concluded by them with the Third Reich move these countries into the ranks of the Hitlerite coalition. The same position is taken by modern Ukraine, which accepts as its predecessor the military-political formations of the OUN-UPA, created by Ukrainian fascists. Proves that all these post-Soviet republics belong to the Hitlerite coalition. Hence the possibility of revising the territorial acquisitions of countries that position themselves as supporters of the Hitlerite coalition. Plus SPONSORS OF the Nazi regimes (USA and Britain)

He's a kid.... and doesn't realize what he's saying because he wanted to be a hero... hopefully the ppl who really love him, WILL sit down with him and explain what was actually going on and he can some day realize what he's done. I fear that that will hit him harder than any PTSD could.

I feel sorry for his bad experiences, but he invided it to himself. Ive started to notice that the PTSD kicks in worst for a naive person who have an image in their heads of how things should be like and they get shocked more when it didn’t match reality.
I’m quite disturbed by his ”religious” beliefs, and in general his faulty knowledge of history or anything for that matter. He behaves as if he knows whats up but fails so see almost everything he thinks he knows is wrong or very harmful to himself and others. But does he really to believe in norse pagan religion or he just pretends? Norse pagan religion was on par with Astec death cult in level of cruelty and hate.
I think this boy is deeply disturbed and lost. He if anyone needs Christ in his life. Praying for him.

And ps. He’s talking about Lauri Törni and he didn’t really fight for the Nazis. He was sent to Germany to train in sabotase and to learn explosives at the later stages of war, because there was a fear that Finland would be soon occupied. But he disliked a lot to be in nazi Germany and was there only few months before leaving back to Finland. When surprisingly there was a peace deal with Soviets he escaped with many Finns first to Sweden, he got engaged there, but then decided to abandon her and escaped on a boat heading to central america but jumped off the boat and swam to the States. There he was rebuilding a life and when he was approved his citizenship he joined the army and later joined to the green barrets. He wasnt an ideologically motivated person, but a very restless, traumatized, heavy drinking, adventurer who was violent. I’m a Finn and read his biography in the original Finnish and I wouldn’t really see any reason to ideolize or even treat him as a tough cool guy. He was addicted to adrenaline and danger. Nothing more.

His PTSD is very strong and if he don't seek medical and psychological help soon he may kill hinself, is that hard. There is no real sadness here, just dissasociation, confusion and images of the past that come back again and again. I know, i've been there for 2 years, i'm better now but with a lot of medicine and psychoterapy.

I have very limited military experience, joined at 16, 3 years training, no combat, but it set me up for life for the one reason you talk about. It taught me to understand my own limits and be confident in dealing with difficult and stressful situations and to bounce back from losses, which inevitably happen in life. In my professional experience this is an essential trait for executives and the military train it the best. Vets are highly sought after in the consulting industry for this reason (not this reason alone, but I would argue likely one of the biggest contributing factors) and can be extremely valuable in any managerial/executive position. This is extremely undervalued in the general job market, but every company needs determined people, who can make decisions under pressure and can get shit done.

PTSD is basically not a thing when you’re the one defending you’re home and seems to effect those who are go half way across the world to fight people in their own country who are most effected by ptsd. Must be the guilt

    • @andrews.5212
      @andrews.5212 4 месяца назад

well modern PTSD in western veterans clearly resemble more guilt than anything.
Sure there is a component of SHOCK but, quoting The Last Samurai:
      "every soldier have nightmares"
"only one who is ashamed of what he did"
Behind the propaganda your conscience KNOWS that what you did was wrong. that you went to some other countries to be an adrenaline junkie murdering people who never did anything to you.
Also societal coesion is a big part.
Way few Russian are having PTSD because they have the entire society behind them to fight the ukron@zi, NAFO and to liberated their slavic brothers and sisters in ukraine.
Meanwhile ukron@zi soldiers are suffering hughely from PTSD because they are abandoned by their society (the western ukranians are partying on the graves of the eastern ukranians) their women are cucking them while they are at the front and their leader are using them as expendable meatbags.

Now that's shit that you're talking right there.
PTSD isn't just a thing that soldiers get. It isn't born out of guilt.
People in the Blitz got PTSD, I saw it first in my teacher when an air raid siren was played in assembly. It exists in the victims of violence and abuse.
You wanted to sound edgy, but just come across as completely ignorant.

PTSD affects many people, even people who have never been in a combat situation. if it can affect someone who's been in an abusive relationship, or in a mass shooting, a home invasion, a mugging, robbery, driveby shooting, gang crossfire, overdose situations, or one of the myriad of extremely traumatic events life throws at you, it obviously affects people who are fighting for their homes.
hell, i think seeing your house get blown up, and your family shot at and or killed, while you get shot at by an invading force raping and murdering people on your street, fortifying buildings like hospitals and the schools you went to growing up for use as command centers, is probably MORE likely to cause PTSD because you have so much skin in the game and grew up somewhere that is now a warzone, imagine trying to go back to normal life, still living where your buddies just fought and died by the hundreds of thousands, possibly in a battlefield you just fought and killed over. his problems with 'never leaving' ukraine are already bad enough not being there anymore, imagine that whole experience taking place where you grew up and now have to live now seeing the places you've witnessed vile things happen to your friends and family, and people you grew up with. imagine driving to work on the road you had to maneuver down under artillery fire, or traveling to visit relatives on the highway you got shot at by a tank on. and then you know.. all the unexploded ordinance, and the corpses that you'll be digging up in your fields for decades to come, the massive cleanup effort, the feeling you'll get whenever you hear even your own countrymen fly a drone. your kids wont be able to play in the forests for god knows how long, hell, you wont either, not safely at least. just imagine living in ukraine right now, except, like, you know, you dont just go back to happy sunshine and rainbows when the enemy finally surrenders and stops actively perpetrating world war three in your YARD.
i can go on and on. when a 'you're just hugely ignorant' would have sufficed. just the fact that you lack an imagination to such a degree that you somehow think that having war and the pages and pages of abject horror that comes with it, happen to where you grew, up, is less traumatic is absolutely mind boggling to me. the only thing i could possibly give you, is im sure it helps having literally EVERYONE in your life having suffered the same trauma as you, so you can more easily relate to one and other.

I think it's the contradiction that causes a lot of PTSD. I had a PSG who told us a bit about Iraq: "The war was weird. Imagine rolling up to a house, blowing the wall down, blasting the dad. Kids are crying, 'Sorry, your daddy was a terrorist. Here's a soccer ball.' Then you hand his wife a receipt for the damages to her house so that we (US) can pay for repairs. Like, yeah, the dad was going to get blasted anyways. He was a bomb maker that was killing US Troops. But at the same time it isn't a war. I think the only way we could've won was to turn it into an irradiated parking lot and renamed it 'America 2.'" I'm paraphrasing since I'm drawing from memory of an event around 3 years ago. But as a regular grunt, it seemed absurd. But I never deployed to combat in my contract. So I never experienced it myself. His story reminded me a lot of my dad talking about his experiences.
