@@knaughta.masso-kist5944 there are audio logs with obvious icons floating over them all over the place that usually tell you what to do or how to deal with certain threats. There was a memo warning not to over feed petey pig, for example. When the boss chimes in it’s usually to tell you to do the opposite of what you should be doing. It’s not perfect, though. The rooster fight was not well optimized and the salmon chase right after will take a few deaths before he figures out he needs to swim away. Basically you’re stuck in an experimental facility where they’re using mind control chips to try to increase the marketability of their products. The burger chain is a Skinner box to observe you. The plot of the game is to break out of the mind control and escape, killing the infested animatronics on the way out. The only time I really felt like I didn’t know what was going on was the sudden shift from the diner level to an abandoned farm. They never really explain why the farmer can just whisk you away like that.
Mark, you should really give this Game another chance. It has everything you like in this kind of Games. The Story, the Lore, the Characters, the Style. Even if you won't record and upload any video - just play it for yourself. It's truly amazing.

For anyone curious, the TL;DR of the book at 7:18 is that "Happy's Humble Burger Barn" initially started as a cartoon series started after a large conflict known as the "Scythian War". It eventually grew into a massive franchise, including multiple spin-offs, an anime and "Moonga" series, several movies, several video games, and an ice show.
Come on, kids! Let's go see the Ice Show where a fast food employee makes 3 burgers for the upper half of a grotesque, screeching, pig monstrosity! And stay around till the end where a gaping hole explodes in its stomach!
@@nevaeh9125 I don't know why but this comment is giving me big "Icescapades" vibes. (Hint: Icescapades was an ice skating event in the cartoon Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Blooregard Q Kazoo was obsessed with it for an entire episode.)
Anyone else oddly appreciate that Lixian spent the time to figure out what Toe is saying or...attempting to say? Seems like a bunch of garbled nonsense but it would be interesting if there was secret messages in his dialogue during each shift.

Didn't expect this game to be so full of references. The Walking Dead, Portal, Duke Nukem, Resident Evil, Skyrim, and I'm only halfway through the video and I'm sure I missed some
I like this game because a lot of horror games lead the player into a false sense of safety and security, this game does not in anyway make you feel safe and/or secure ever. There’s always something completely horrid happening. From the statues in the restaurant, the incredibly creepy apartment complex and an immediate jump scare within minutes of entering the restaurant this game is just horrific and scary
They look like Elder Futhark! Sol (the sun, honor), nauđr (need, hardship), eohl (protection, shield... but its reversed so the meaning most likely is as well), lögr (water, ocean), and fehu (cattle, livestock, wealth) They also stand in for the letters S-N-Z-L-F so thats something to note maybe?
Honestly I'd love to see more of this game. Just the combination of the old PlayStation style horror of "nothing makes sense" and mark simultaneously having absolutely no clue what's happening is hilarious lmao
To anyone how want to learn more on the lore of this game superhorrorbro is the RUclipsr to check him out he pretty good at breaking down the story on horror games like this one and others like poppy playtime.
Someone absolutely needs to make a short animation using this video. I’d love to see mark as a fast food worker just running around doing all the work while all these strange workplace shenanigans keep happening.
pickles are just very wrong. to me. They're simply soggy cucumbers, except CRUNCHY?? A little green man in a big juice jar. The stench. nothing should be sealed in a jar for so long. Reminds me of the jars with the humans in them. I wouldn't eat a finger, and I super wouldn't eat a pickle. Who doesn't like pickle? Me. The most passionate pickle avoider. you may keep your pickles, Wendy's and it's underpaid workers.
Mark: I thought I was gonna have a nice little horror experience. . . Me: Working a souless dead end job for less than minimum wage and having your whole life revolve around just that, day in and day out for eternity? That IS the horror experience.
I feel like this game expands and perfects the formula created by the other simulator games, except with boss fights, mysteries, and horror. It's surprisingly sophisticated.
Seeing Mark serve all these customers makes me realize that Mark would be that guy working at a shitty restaurant gig in a management position that literally everyone else working there would be thinking "Such wasted potential".
This game feels very relatable to someone who has worked in fast food. I felt like I was "owned" by my manager, forced to do work that was demeaning and disgusting. I hope to never have to work in the food service industry EVER again.
This game looks like how your soul feels being crushed in a job and life like this. Trust me. I know. Working a shift by yourself...That is truly hell. And also throwing the roomba is a pure mood.

Maybe he did. I don't know how much traction this video got at first so it's possible that it wasn't popular at the time. I wouldn't know since I've only been recommended this by RUclips now.
@@Biippa ...
ice capades was an actual thing.

Like how mark hasn’t even started up the game yet and still, he goes full game theory ands like

IS THIS L O R E?
Hey uh just a heads-up, a bot copy/pasted your comment :/
Anyone else oddly appreciate that Lixian spent the time to figure out what Toe is saying or...attempting to say? Seems like a bunch of garbled nonsense but it would be interesting if there was secret messages in his dialogue during each shift.
It’s awesome
Three or four replays isnt a lot of time but I see your point

I humbly request additional episodes of this fever dream of a game.
My friend Natalie is a voice actress in this game. It’s so unbelievable to see how far she’s come. Thank you, Mark. This is such an amazing experience for us both
Who does she voice?
I don't think Mark will listen to her voice unfortunately as he said he won't do a full let's play
@@ethanmccue4468 I believe she voices a couple different characters. I can for sure tell that the voice on the voicemail thing in your home is her voice. I think she also voices the cow and a few others. Her name is Natalie Hitzel if there’s any game credits

Please finish this game it is so worth it, I’ve watched the same person play it more than 10 times this year
Is it that good?
@@Centinym yeah i keep rewatching dantdm play it
The fact he missed basically everything that would tell him what’s happening
Classic Markiplier
@Sean Robison Didnt he used to be a bit of a completionist or was that a diff youtuber im thinking of
Love Toe’s subtitles. lol Also when Mark absolutely yeeted the Roomba. 😂
Mark: "Wuts this button du!?"
[Soaks restaurant]
Mark: Neet.
"That's a bottom. I need a top. I need a top REAL BAD"
What are you really telling us, Mark?
To not take that out of context
The roomba casually vacuuming the counter sent me to the grave 😂✋
It's like an overexaggeration, but not really, of how crap retail/food service is. I love it.
It's that, but when high. - Not that I would know...
We need a “Toes” compilation. Just the weird stuff mark sees from him
Imagine just grilling burgers and a man naked walks up to you and explodes. I laughed do hard at that part.
What, that doesn't happen to you at least once a week? What are you, some kind of weirdo?
Yeah that just sounds like a normal thing that happens in fast food places in Detroit
man, Lixians subs of incomprehensible game characters always get me lmao
I can just imagine going to a McDonald's with an employee as energetic and weird as Mark serving you
I would never go there again.
Hi, I'm Taco... what can I get started for you today?
@@Sky_Explorer I'd go there every day.
I know this one guy at Wendy's who always make jokes
Have a wendyful day.
"What kind of calamity occurred in this jurisdiction?" is a masterpiece of a sentence.
Something about Larry just being a joke really helped me enjoy this so much more.
Not me seeing eldritch horrors at the restaurant and just being like "ignore em mark capitalism waits for no wageworkers like us"
Lmfao-
Not to mention if you've ever worked at a fast food place for more than a week you've probably seen stranger things anyway.
@@WorldWalker128 I mean……true. Plus eldritch horrors tend to be more polite than most costumers ngl

The amount of times he accidentally said hungle instead of humble is hilarious
I never thought I would laugh so hard at Mark throwing a Roomba across a kitchen screaming "GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!" 25:50 😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣

Me too lmao
"I used to be a chef like you and then I took a burger to the knee" will fill my mind anytime I play skyrim now
Didn't expect this game to be so full of references.
The Walking Dead, Portal, Duke Nukem, Resident Evil, Skyrim, and I'm only halfway through the video and I'm sure I missed some
Yeah, do you know if the fish was actually John St. John?
@@bigdb4755 Must have been, I'd be shocked if it wasn't. If it's just an impression, they really nailed it

“TOES LOOK OUT!! TOES! THE ROOMBA!!!” - actual hilarious quote from the video. Context doesn’t clarify much. 23:49

Also Mark: "... Definitely a chicken leg."

Those are norse runes right? Or am i just dumb?
@@biggietheskeleton6686 pretty sure they are, yes lol
They look like Elder Futhark! Sol (the sun, honor), nauđr (need, hardship), eohl (protection, shield... but its reversed so the meaning most likely is as well), lögr (water, ocean), and fehu (cattle, livestock, wealth)
They also stand in for the letters S-N-Z-L-F so thats something to note maybe?
I think they spell sdklf but I'm probably wrong
8:19 Mark: "Oh my god this is uncomfortable."
Also Mark: Still in the guys face not moving away.
Honestly I'd love to see more of this game. Just the combination of the old PlayStation style horror of "nothing makes sense" and mark simultaneously having absolutely no clue what's happening is hilarious lmao
😂😂 Mark just Straight up yeeting the rumba
“Get out of my kitchen”
I swear that made me laughing so badly that I was crying (Is my sense of humor broken? xD)
At that part, I laugh to the point I couldn't breathe anymore.
There's a little bit of Gordon Ramsay in all of us.
The "horror" part of the game is the fast-food job, the rest is just comic relief.
he played the game wrong fyi. watch dantdm's playthrough without any sequence breaking.
It’s a shame he’s stopping at this video, would’ve made a good series

I work at Wendy's, and the line "Who doesn't like pickle?" is the line I relate to the most whenever I make sandwiches.
I work at Wendy's too... people say no pickle on their sandwich, but end up asking for Bleu cheese and bourbon
pickles are just very wrong.
What a humble cow, surely nothing could go wrong.

Nothing "nice" about it. XD
When he said Distractible is more coherent than this game, I lost it. It’s true, and it really is saying something.
Lmao we just need flying musk clowns and it's pretty there
Markiplier: "you stay away from me!" Legit starts sprinting towards the man 😂
It was a warning 😩
I feel like this game expands and perfects the formula created by the other simulator games, except with boss fights, mysteries, and horror. It's surprisingly sophisticated.
"Don't go towards the chaos"

Seeing Mark serve all these customers makes me realize that Mark would be that guy working at a shitty restaurant gig in a management position that literally everyone else working there would be thinking "Such wasted potential".
This game feels very relatable to someone who has worked in fast food. I felt like I was "owned" by my manager, forced to do work that was demeaning and disgusting. I hope to never have to work in the food service industry EVER again.
That's weird because I love fast food industry
"Remember to make smart decisions"

This game looks like how your soul feels being crushed in a job and life like this.
Trust me. I know. Working a shift by yourself...That is truly hell. And also throwing the roomba is a pure mood.
