I'm happy that the jersey at least has colours beyond just pure black and white. It's okay for a placeholder jersey and if they need an alternate several years down the road, then the diagonal text can be revisited and modified.
I agree, I live in Utah and the name is really growing on me. I could totally see them just keeping the name if people get attached to it, similar to how they kept the Jazz name in Utah even though it makes zero sense.

Compare it, for example, to the Sharks and the huge commercial success they've had with their brand. There is so much stuff you can do with it; from a wide variety of themed apparel to plushies to various toys and collectibles (action figures, Funko Pops, statuettes, figurines, shark-shaped water pistols, tabletop games, masks, bathtub toys, .... ) to crossovers with other franchises, such as Spielberg's Jaws, Mattel's Street Sharks, Sharknado, Pixar stuff, Steven R. Alten's Meg, and so on, and so forth.
Those could easily be jerseys for San Jose. Just swap the lettering on the chest with the traditional shark in the triangle and that'd be it, more or less. 🙂
There's a baseball team here that just recently was part of the Dodgers MLB system called the Ogden Raptors. The league is no longer MLB affiliated, but the team is still going strong. Raptors have been around quite a long time.

These are a perfectly mediocre placeholder. If it turns out that these are the final colours, it's a fairly safe bet that the team name will be either Blizzard or Yeti. The jerseys are practically a direct copy of the former Winnipeg ICE which used a Yeti as their logo.

These jerseys suck. Really... does not matter if they are temporary or not, but it is the worst when it is a diagonal wordmark. Could have just used the horizontal wordmark logo on the front instead. If I gotten it for free, I still don't want it in my collection. That bad. Wait, Neil... how is Rangers across the front too long of a name? And the Islanders never had a jersey with their name diagonally across the front of a jersey like the Rangers do. Yeah, still totally infuriating to me that the Arizona Coyotes no longer exist, despite the Utah Hockey Club being a brand new franchise but with Ryan Smith acquiring the Coyotes roster players, draft capital and hockey operations staff.
Sooooo the utah hockey club will be the only team without an actual team name....just the utah hockey club..... in what world is that somthing franchise owners consider a good idea .... its a team they need a name not just a vague description of where they are based what a joke
The "Mountain Blue" accent are different enough from the "Ice Blue" accent of the Kraken, less greenish tinge plus it should be different enough when they put the Yeti decal on it for next season.
@@FallApartMan The teal and the Black on the home Utah jersey makes it looks a bit like Seattle's home because of how barely different the primary color of the two is and also the mint green which looks like the brightest shade of Teal that Seattle uses on their home. I myself can make out only 3 clear differences between the two home jerseys: 1. Being SEA has red and two different shades of teal while UTA has 3 colors. 2. Being the front logo being different. 3. The stripping is clearly different. Everything else I didn't mention looks the same at a quick glance between the two.
@@FallApartMan I didn't say SEA uses Black and teal. I meant the primary color of both home jerseys of SEA and UTA look so alike even though it's told to be different. My eyes for some reason scream more of a clash with SEA than SJ because the stripping of SJ's home is pretty much the same to Utah's home and that's the only thing the same between SJ's home and UTA's home.
The Utah team is already boring me with there jerseys and there logo but I am in a good mood because I just got a sharks home jersey for just 20 bucks that's a sweet deal if you ask me

They should adopt the purple from the jersey you're wearing. It's very similar to the classic Jazz uniforms from the Stockton and Malone era.
The route Utah took is the same as the PWHL. The PWHL seems to be on a good path forward.

The Utah organization said that although the current name is temporary, the colors are what the team will have next year.
Well, those are basically the official colours of Salt Lake City's flag, plus the added black which is a neutral colour; it goes with everything.
