The truth is that a Taliban leader named Mohammed used to stare at little girls. In panic and shame, they started wearing Burqa. He is gone now. Don't be scared, you can wear normal dress now. ALL MEN ARE NOT LIKE MOHAMMED.
As a convert I am so jealous of every girl growing up in a Muslim household where you won't get judged if you decide to wear hijab. Explaining to my mom that I converted was so hard already and the first thing she said was "as long as you won't come home with a headscarf"... I love her so much and I don't want her to judge me or pity me or think that I somehow got brainwashed into wearing it

My parents are practicing Muslims and after 2 years of struggling with putting it on, I finally did and thought they would be really happy and proud but instead my mom calls me ugly and old and my dad doesn’t comment on it. My extended family judges me. Allah tests his servants in so many ways and we just have to be patient. May Allah help you and guide your parents

Trust me I live in a Muslim country and wearing hijjab makes my relatives think I have gone to the extreme and I should take it off and be up to date with society.

I started this year and it was hard because i was going to a private catholic school. Yes , i was the only one in the entire school wearing. So it was extremely hard. I have been watching u and you’ve made me stronger 😊

Where are you from?
I also went to a school where I was one the only one wearing the hijab. What helped me is to be confident in the hijab. That way no one questioned me and my non-muslim friends always had my back. But the number one thing to do is to also find muslim hijabi friends who are like you. I know you aren’t able to find them in your school but there are always people at the mosque. Just having muslim friends empowered me, strengthened my deen and didn’t make me feel so alone

Omg so true as a born muslim we forget that Allah s.w.t has given us such a big blessing. Like u said that there comes a time for a born muslim that u truly start to find islam for yourself and Alhamdulillah I’m in that stage I am so grateful that Allah s.w.t is giving me hidayat. I’ve been wearing mine since 5th grade and it was easy cuz i went to a Islamic school but when i left it was just messed up. Like just a year ago this guy pulled it off and the school district did nothing. I just forgave him because we can’t hold grudges but honestly it still affects me.

My story is soo similar to yours!! I had a friend that wore a hijab and never thought of me wearing it until I was inspired by Leena. During that time I find Islam for myself. It’s soo true how the idea just comes to you once you find Islam for yourself again. My mom and sister don’t wear it either. I remember trying it on in summer before starting college and started wearing it when running errands. I remember when I went to Costco and all the Muslim women were saying Salam and Oh my how it made me feel empowered and representing. Without the hijab not much people would know I am muslim even if I still dressed modestly but once you put it on, I feel the confidence level just sky rockets.

I can relate so much. Even I recently found Islam for myself. 20 years of being a Muslim now I can proudly say I'm a Muslim cause now I started practicing it . And Islam is a lifestyle if you follow all these small things which you think might not effect you really helps you grow and make your imaan strong. So I try to keep learning more and more about the ideal way of an Islamic lifestyle so that I can become a better Muslim and serve Allah Swt. And once you follow it you understand why Allah has told us to do and not do certain things. Alhumdulillah. None of us are perfect, I hope he forgives us for our sins and help us become a better human.

i wanna wear a hijab but i overthink so much, im currently 15 and im in the uk so im in year 10 and secondary school finishes in year 11, i wanted to wait until after year 11 to wear it but that’s just so far away and idk what to doooo im just so scared of my teachers seeing me look different and idk others just looking at me and stuff. At the start of the year i actually came to school with a hijab but felt so uncomfortable and insecure i took it off. I really wish i had pushed through and didn’t take it off, then i wouldn’t have this problem . I just wanna start when im in a new school with people who haven’t seen what i already look like yk? but idk man people pressure me a lot to wear it like ppl in skl, partly the guys for some reason?

Mainly in my school, many techer said that l wear hijab because l want to cheating on exam to wear hearphone under my hijab and insulted me a lot.l felt so bad but l never think to leave hijab that is the best thing on me. one thing come on my mind that l do good thing to wear hijab because l am Muslim. so, problem come in our life but never give up. many problem come but l never stop to wear hijab.l pray that every Muslim women wear hijab oneday. where i live, i go to an Islamic school, and u have to wear a hijab ever since kindergarten, outside of school i wouldn't wear a hjiab, bc it didn't feel right and i wanted to wear it for me and Allah only not for anyone else. btw we were only forced to wear it at school bc it was an Islamic school and we would do all prayers and read Quran and stuff so it would make sense to wear it yk. but just a couple weeks ago on eid actually i started wearing a hijab, before ramadan started i promised myself on eid im gonna wear the hjiab and look at me i kept that promise

You are right, there a specific time for everyone to truly find Allah and wen you do life becomes easy. You learn to accept that there are your plans and also Allah’s plans and surely his plans are better then ours. He knows what’s best for us. And most of all TAWAKKUL ON ALLAH SWT brings peace in the heart of a believer. Alhamdulilah ... i can never forget when i truly found my RAB, it changed my life. I became a total new person, now when hardship comes i reply only on Allah. I ask Allah for even the little of things, as he is the only one who can give me what i ask.
