Mobile footage's are highly compressed with limited dynamic range so only a handle of subtle creative LUTs works with them. Maybe, try dialing down the overall LUT impact on the footage, say 50-60%. That should work just fine...
No...because rec 709 is used to convert a log footage into a standard one with normal contrast, saturation, and sharpness...so that you can use a creative lut on them. If I were you...I would not use a LUT on mobile footage and go with basic color adjustments.
