Look at: pretty in the pines. She lived in NYC and did amazing temporary changes to the apt. Amazing, modifications but she recently moved out of state.
Have you considered moving to NJ? You get all the conveniences of suburban life and space while still being close to all of the opportunities that NYC offers. It gets a terrible rap based solely on the industrial areas bordering the city but there is ample farm land, beaches, rivers, and mountains.
I've only moved once in childhood, when I was 5, to the house my parents still own now, almost 30 years later. I vaguely remember throwing up in the night during the first week and my poor mum trying to find the clean bedding in all the boxes and taking dirty bedding to the laundry the next morning as the washing machine in the house hadn't been hooked up yet. Then once I turned 18, I've moved A LOT. My dad calls me a gypsy. Moving a lot when it's just you or you and one other person is fun. Moving a family with a house full of stuff isn't as fun unfortunately.

When you get mascara on your eyelid (waterproof or not) use a spooly brush and scrape it off gently! It won’t smudge your other makeup!!
