Great list. I love these movies, especially Decision to Leave and Burning which were criminally underrated. I’d like to mention Paprika(Japan, Anime) Minari (Asian immigrant story with another great performance from Steven Yuen) and probably a lesser known movie I happened to find on a plane called Believer(South Korea) so much style, fun and thrilling crime story.
No Satoshi Kon movie in here is straight up criminal. I'd rather have "Millenium Actress" or "Paprika" over "Your Name" anytime. Maybe there was way to fit in "The raid 2", but it's fair to keep the seat for the first one. Other than that, pretty solid list. Many great films in there indeed.
Some Indian movie recommendations Super Deluxe Pudhupettai Karnan Gangs of Wasseypur Vada Chennai Drishyam (Malayalam) Andhadhun Mayakkam Enna Hey Raam Etc..
Some great picks on your list. My top 5 would be 1.In the Mood for Love. 2. Burning, 3. Handmaiden, 4. Parasite, 5. Long Day's Journey into night. I would also add another that is not on your list: Suzhou River (Lou Ye, China 2000) if you haven't seen it do yourself a favour as it's great.
The list itself was good, But the intermission was terrible. Please don't do that anymore. And the LONG and hysterical giggling session after the intermission - which happened probably due to the extremely lengthy and senseless intermission itself - was extremely annoying and unprofessional.
This is a great list, but no Hero? It may have been better to leave off RRR and The Raid and just called it top 25 East Asian films. You could easily do a separate list of South/Southeast Asian films. Probably West Asian, as well (Asghar Farhadi, Abbas Kiarostami, and Majid Majidi come to mind).
It's funny you got into South Korean cinema thanks to The Host. I saw it (because there was a huge hype around it in Korea) and hated it because it felt in a way, like it's too Hollywood (not surprised Bong is the one guy who would end up with an Oscar, though Parasite is incredibly Korean)...but in Europe we grew up on Korean art cinema like Kim Ki Duk (check out "Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring") and therefore I didn't appreciate it at all. The Korean movie, that was massively popular in Korea and I liked is "The King and the Clown" (which was actually selected as Korea's pick for the Oscars over The Host and Kim Ki Duk's Time, they came out around the same time hah). Check it out also.
Hi...Im trying to find a movie. Im only certain that it was Asian and that the first scene was very impactful, it was a cloae up of a very cluttered, very messy and disgusting flat someone lived in. I may be wrong but the whole movie may have been a little distopian. Saw it 10 years ago (not in the cinema). Help?
Excellent list as always. I was listening to this while at work and physically fist pumped the air like a complete idiot when I heard A bittersweet life being mentioned. UNSUBSCRIBED for making me look like a fool at work.

Hirokazu Koreeda's SHOPLIFTERS and MONSTER come to mind as well. GODZILLA MINUS ONE as well.
Burning is so damned good
One I think is extremely underrated is Memoir of a Murderer
Impressed by the actual reasonable pronunciation of all the different asian names in multiple languages.. but wasn't perfect. UNSUBSCRIBED
Thanks 🙏😂
Absolutely love the list
Also my favorites
I wish some asian actors would be more known in the west, because they are incredibly good.
