The thing with Forza 5 is that it only recognize 1GB lower than your actual VRAM. This card is basically overclocked and undervolted version of the 3060 Ti.
The fact that you're playing this on 1080p just goes to show that this card wasn't exactly meant for gaming. The 3070 may be a fast card but it's most limiting factor is it's 8 GB VRAM, hopefully the 16 GB 4060 Ti fixes that somewhat but I don't know what to expect from a 128 bit bus. Nvidia really should've made the 4070 equal to the 3080 Ti or a 3090. Would've given a bit more space for the 4060 and 4060 Ti. At this point, I have no hope for the 4060 being better than the 3060 Ti.
I agree that 4060ti 8gb looks bad but how 1080p means its not for gaming? 1080p is still most popular resolution and not everyone can or need high end PC to play in higher resolution.
@@Extreme96PL I mean, pretty much every 40-series GPU could do 4K and even the 4070 could do that to some degree and the 4060 Ti being used at 1080p and still struggling really looked like the card was more for other things like editing that uses more VRAM. Didn't mean any offense to anyone playing at 1080p, it's just that the new gen GPUs are at least expected to run well at 1440p but the fact that the VRAM maxes out and still causes stutters really made me feel like it's not a gaming GPU but one for productivity tasks like editing. To me it looked like it was a powerful card for editors and other productive things while still be able to game nicely. Edit: Kinda like the 3060, the 8 GB was dead on arrival and so will the 4060 Ti 8 GB. The 3060 12 GB on the other hand is handy for editing and it felt like Nvidia made the card just for that and along with it's ability to play games at a decent FPS. The 4060 Ti gives me the same vibes. The 4060 Ti 16 GB might sell well because of editors needing that extra VRAM but the 8 GB is pretty much dead on arrival. But then again with alternatives like the 6800 XT existing, I don't think the 4060 Ti 16 GB is gonna sell well.

16GB of vram should be the minimum standard going forward. For all the AI-intensive apps, especially when you want to generate videos - 16GB of vram is the entry level. I expect NVIDIA to make more vram in their 5000 series GPUs. I will be getting the 4060 TI 16GB next month.

Great review but id argue that saying its a 3070 is silly. It is highly power efficient, and has frame generation pushing it to 2x the 3070. Theres a mod to plug in frame generation to hundreds of games. Its marketed as a 1080p card so 8gb is enough. Plus a gen on gen leap is usually a card becomes the next rung down. So the 3070 being a 4060ti makes sense. Similar to how the 2080ti was a 3070 (a bit faster in some games)
Thanks! The issue is that some titles with FG will run out of vram even at 1080p, if they're pushing FG as a main feature they should've put more VRAM on this card. About the next gen leap, the 4090 was a big leap! The tech is there, they're just cutting these GPUs down too much.
@@zWORMzGaming FG doesnt use VRAM kryzzp. And at 1080p there is currently no game that exceeds 8gb vram when managed properly. Last of Us now handles vram better, RE4 Remake also.
@@zWORMzGaming And yeah at the highest end theres always a huge leap. But the general rule is it becomes one down the stack. Hence why the 4080 12gb (4070ti) is essentially a 3090 for example
FrameGen is horrible. You gain like 20FPS so you go from say 80FPS to 100FPS, but in reality that 100FPS is 50FPS with double fake frames so you actually lose 30FPS of real framerate and lose that amount in latency as well.
3090 -> 4090 is about 75% extra performance. 3060 Ti -> 4060 Ti is about 15% extra performance (in the best case scenario). Yeah they really couldn't do any better with that architecture, obviously it just wasn't a big improveement over the last one.
frustrating because the lower cards like the 3060 12GB and 6700 10GB don't have the horsepower to make use of it (in games) except in very few edge cases from what I have seen. If you want RT that lasts a few years you are funneled into 4070/80/90, or give up the eye candy which tends to be the only reason to play those types of games on PC in the first place. If you're more into the Esports , retro, and Strategy games, may as well stay a few generations back in GPUs.

This card(460-470,-€) vs. my rtx 2060 super(aug. 2020 451,-€)? 1.9x more fps in CP2077 RT ultra 1080p @same gameplay power consumption....that's great price and performance result in the modern RayTracing era.
All above 8GB VRam jumps into your Ram ✌️
Good Video
So there´s literally no reason to upgrade from my 3060ti
Nice Video Kryzzp, And thanks For The Review!!
Thank you for watching 😃
it would be interesting to see power consumption with undervolting
06:10 My man straight up destroyed the M3 GTR lol but atleast GT710FTW numberplate stays on.
A RTX 4060 Ti deveria vir com 16GB ja em 399, assim faz essa placa não ter sentido nenhum
The thing with Forza 5 is that it only recognize 1GB lower than your actual VRAM. This card is basically overclocked and undervolted version of the 3060 Ti.
Ah yes, when those vram warnings show up it always shows 1gb less. It's probably reserving some for the OS
@@thatguy3000 60 models were never made for 4k tbh. 50 models are low-medium 1080p, 60 are high 1080p, 70 are 1440p and 80 and 90 are 4k its pretty much was like this since beginning.
@@Extreme96PL I don't think that rule applies for any GPUs now. The 3060 Ti when it came out could literally run games 60+ FPS at 1440p max without any stutters at all. The 4070 can literally go max 1440p and still run games no problem and the 4070 Ti is a 4K high settings GPU. The 4060 Ti struggling at 1080p max just made me think that it's release wasn't intended for gaming. The 4060 Ti should be able to handle games at 1440p high smoothly while the 4060 should be able to run at max 1080p settings smoothly.
@@Extreme96PL buddy 3060ti was a 1440p card so to sell 4060ti as a 1080p card is a disgrace. Don't try to justify it.

Don't just look at performance. If you want to compare, compare with a graphics card with the same power. What else can you expect from a graphics card with only 160 watts of power?
16GB of vram should be the minimum standard going forward. For all the AI-intensive apps, especially when you want to generate videos - 16GB of vram is the entry level. I expect NVIDIA to make more vram in their 5000 series GPUs. I will be getting the 4060 TI 16GB next month.
You can only have 4, 8 or 16 GB of vram on a 128bit memory bus(which applies to this card) . That's why they're going for 8 now and 16 later.
Couldn't they like idk change that?
@@athenablaze9549 they can yes, but they don't want to. It's more about market segmentation, planned obscelescence and profit margins rather than technical difficulties, inflation or rising production costs. Don't fall for their bullshit nor the shills or braindeads that parrot this nonsense.
@@athenablaze9549not without changing g the bus size, which they should have.
The issue is also the 128 bit memory bus. It meagre. If it was 256/384 bit, it would have been about 10% more faster. Its a 50-series card at best, like a 4050 Ti or something.
Called a 4050 TI and $75-$100 cheaper, we’d cheer for it.
Memory bus doesn't matter
Rx vega 56 is like 1024 bit and it's significantly weaker
I like the way that Kryzzp tell us his conclusion right on the title "i'm not impressed" and guess what... HE IS NOT IMPRESSED
This crazy guys, how is that possible I pay 400$ to get 8gb of vram???
No, and the problem is that if you want to buy the 16th version, you have to add $ 100 ?????
That is why I bought the rtx 3050. At least they did put 8GB of VRAM on the card. I have seen leakes that the RTX 4050 might get 6GB of VRAM. If that happens then that card is obsolete on arrival and mine can still do better than 4050 even tho it might be stronger and use less power.
the battlefield 2042 gameplay is so satisfying
Incredible ! This RTX 4060Ti has same performances as my old RX 5700 XT OC
or i can said it doesnt have any different from 3060TI, maybe even worst than 3060ti and we buy rtx4060 just like buy a 3060ti + frame generation

i was getting both 3060 ti and 4060 ti for the same price , so i got this :D
In country 3060 ti was higher xD so i bought this
To be honest was you expecting anything else? The naming has has been off since the introduction of the 4080. 4060ti is 70 tier pricing at 50 tier performance. As for the vram, the fixes for The Last of Us part 1 is proof that cards with 8GB can still have a decent experience. It is all about optimization.

Did you do the accent?
Remember the 3060TI was advertised by Nvidia as a 1080P/1440P card and did well at both, so you can fully expect a 4060TI to be at least that.. Don't buy into "the 4060TI is for 1080P" Nvidia's BS as they relabel what should have been the 4050 a 4060TI.
I really like this because small size card, lower power consumption means lower temperature for my little boy ITX PC 😃
The best value gpu is the 3060 Ti (used). Change my mind.
3080 better
As 3060ti owner i would say 6700xt or 6800.
This card is good upgrade for people using GTX 1660s/1600 Ti/ RTX 2060/RTX 2060S.. But not worth the upgrade for people with 3060/3060 ti
A video of comparison between rtx 3060ti and 4060ti would be great😊
i legit get more fps in god of war on 1440p ultra dlss quality with my 3060ti than he gets with 4060ti on 1080p
So no price increase from previous gen, 15% more performance, and a lower TDP? How are people hating so hard on this card? It’s an introductory level card!
the gpu has 8gb vram wich in a few years won't be enough so you'll upgrade sooner, or you spend 100$ more and get 16gb vram which are too much
8gb is not enough to meet future needs,
1080P requires 10gb, 2k16gb, 4k20gb
Yup, it's already too close for comfort at 1080p in 2 year old games 😕

Yeah, I’m just gonna hang onto my 3060 for another year or whenever the 50 series cards come out.
this card.. is good. nothing more :D it runs slightly better than my 3070 (without FG) in few games worse and in few games moreee better
@thomas boob yes
This generation of cards is literally working backwards in terms of performance in current resolution targets (game devs are also to blame) as it seems like the push to 8K has been forgotten and we're focusing on good performance at something like 480p with most releases.
22:20 As someone who has a 16GB RAM Laptop, can confirm, I'm finding it extremely difficult to run Fortnite these days.
and I STILL remember the times that my laptop could handle Fortnite at 100+ FPS no problem and now it barely gets 40 :')
That's a driver issue cause there's no way it can only get 40 FPS with 16 GB of VRAM, I have a 1660 Super (which has 6GB) and runs at 80 in epic, over 100 in high or lower presets
@@CrocoDylianVT Seems fair enough. Your GPU is quite a bit more powerful than mine so it does make sense

Great video as always... was really hoping this was going to be more of a 1440p card :/
Acho que vou continuar com minha 3060ti 😂😂. Abraços do Brasil, portuga.

My RTX 3060 with 12gb VRAM for 350$ ain't lookin that bad now huh, i am pretty sure i can use that card for another 4 years at least.

4060 Ti is the biggest no for a GPU
btw we can wait for some driver updates we may get better performance(the 15% improvement is unreasonably low)
3090 -> 4090 is about 75% extra performance. 3060 Ti -> 4060 Ti is about 15% extra performance (in the best case scenario). Yeah they really couldn't do any better with that architecture, obviously it just wasn't a big improveement over the last one.
Ain't no way they really made that graphic card with just 8GB VRAM. This is hilarious.
4060ti top!
u mean dogwater
frustrating because the lower cards like the 3060 12GB and 6700 10GB don't have the horsepower to make use of it (in games) except in very few edge cases from what I have seen. If you want RT that lasts a few years you are funneled into 4070/80/90, or give up the eye candy which tends to be the only reason to play those types of games on PC in the first place. If you're more into the Esports , retro, and Strategy games, may as well stay a few generations back in GPUs.
If it had 12 gb of VRAM I wouldn't mind it as much.
nah, it would not make use of it with that goofy 128 bit bus lmao...
skip this one guys, wait for 4060 ti 16 gb or 4070 16gb versions, even with higher price they will be a way to go. 8 gb vram is big no no unless you play on 1080p high mixed settings and into super budget.
