    Hi! I'm a high school student that is very interested in becoming a music supervisor. I have a couple questions though...
    1. What sort of things did they really focus on during high school and/or college? Did they take specific classes?
    2. Do these music supervisors start their career with a commercial or some other very small project?
    3. Where do they begin in terms of getting themselves out there for their VERY FIRST project?
    Music IS my life. I listen to it and I play it. I can only see myself doing something music related, and this is my dream job.

      There are some colleges in LA that offer music supervision as a major and will help you get an internship.

      Invest in your local/regional community. You’ll make the foundation of your network and skill set that way.

      You on the wrong path pal, imma be real with you, and of course people will disagree, but this is just my opinion. A dream job will not make you happy, if you enjoy music, then be an artist since you already are, and make that your career. Unless you are trying to score a job as music supervisor to fuel your artist career then go for it, but don't make that your dream job bro, it is not where your happiness lives.

      I think it's fantastic that you know that you want to be a music supervisor! I'd say 98% of high schoolers don't even know what a MS is! And I'd say that statistic goes for the whole population also so good for you and go for it!

    Thank you. Always good to hear the people involved in the process talk about what they do. I have written for a few small productions, and it has always amazed me how the right music completely changes the feel of the pictures. It has been a while since I dabbled in this area but am feeling the itch again.

    • @sundownsessions9857
      @sundownsessions9857 5 лет назад +5

      Hi Marrisa, the best way is to learn as much as you can about the licensing industry and then start supervising for small projects. Indie films, RUclips productions, etc. As you work your way up you can get hired for bigger and bigger projects. You can learn a ton about how things work at: syncsongwriter.com
