I'm just impressed that his friends fought in that restaurant for a whole hour to defend him.
Fun fact: the episode “Eggcellent” won an Emmy Award. Also, Mordecai punching Benson was savage and had me dying. And what he said about after he punched him was true.
Benson also had a point, though. Don't get me wrong, Mordecai was in the right, but Benson was absolutely correct that Rigby would keep bringing Mordecai into trouble (i.e. Mordecai trying to win the hat for Rigby -> Mordecai literally would've died if he had picked the wrong hat). Plus. Benson DOES know about having friends. In case you forgot, Benson did have a friend named Dave that he brought into the underground stick hockey game... and Dave _DIED_ for believing Benson that a stick hockey tournament would be worth it.
Benson knows what it's like to be passionate about something (Eggscellent hat/Stick Hockey championship), and then getting your friends into mortal danger because of that passionate desire ("Your friend there is only going to get you into trouble!" -> "Master, I thought you said this was gonna be so much fun..."). Benson doesn't want to see his park workers stupidly drag their friends into danger like he did with Dave.
Mordecai punching Benson really caught me off guard when I first saw this episode
The truth probably hurt more than Mordecai’s fist.

I love this episode, easy to see why it won an emmy. It really shows how strong Mordecai and Rigby's friendship is, and how for the former is willing to go.

Fun Fact: The part wear Mordecai had to choose the right hat was actually a reference to "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", where he had to choose the right grail or he'd die. The old knight was even referenced!

Ok, Jon was actually an idiot. Imagine spending all that time to beat the Eggscellent Challenge and somehow forgetting what the hat looked like 😅. The man picked a crown 👑 of all things! 🤦♂️
Man wanted to prove he’s the best, even in death.
I think in the end, he wanted more than just a trucker’s hat after all that huge ass omelette and went for the crown, not knowing choosing wrong will end in death
I think he knew about the hat but didn't know it end up killing him, hence why he chooses a crown instead of trucker hat, just to show people that he's the best

I just realised, but s3 is probably where the relationship between mordecai, rigby and benson is at its worst.
We're only 19 eps in but episodes like this one, think positive,fortune cookie, weekend at benson's, stick hockey, all either have benson suffer, or he gets extremely pissed at them, or mordecai and rigby get aggressive with him. It's funny when you realise how many episodes are like this
I never really noticed that lol. At least they have a lot of nice episodes with each other in later seasons

Not really. Is it messed up that some birds of prey eat other birds? I’d say it’s messed up if he was eating a bluejay omelette. The show treats these characters as people, not animals.

Mordecai punching Benson one of the craziest moments in the show he kept a promise to Rigby and he must keep it plus pleased that his friends helped him. How can someone be allergic to eggs?
