Every single academic hiring season I've noticed some alarming patterns and get panicked emails from academics that all say the same thing: “Echo! I just got my job talk (or teaching demo) invite, it’s in 5 days. I need emergency help!”
By that point (if it’s the first time they’ve thought about having well-designed presentation slides) it’s too late. It’s heartbreaking and I honestly can’t take it anymore, which is why I made this video just for grad students.
