@@michaelgalea5148 Stanford and cal would entice the TV., and increase the recruiting for the rest. These teams tho, need to be willing to play Thurs, Friday and Saturday later to increase tv revenue
I would like to agree with you...but if my information is correct, Stanford & Cal were by far the mist elitist/snobbish of all the PAC10 and PAC12 schools. They were the primary culprits who kept blocking any possibility for schools like Boise State. As far as I'm concerned, they made their decision to leave for an East Coast conference. Now let them suffer the full consequences of that decision.
The PAC got the big prize. The crown jewel. The toe-hold anchor that will ultimately return us to our former glory days: The San Diego State University Aztecs. The rebuilding and revival of the PAC towards its rich tradition self goes forward.
USF, Tulane, Memphis & UTSA would all be great adds. Other possibilities would be Air Force, Texas State, Florida International, Florida Atlantic and maybe UNLV who isn't relevant in Las Vegas.
This is the move the PAC should have done when USC and UCLA left, add the top Mtn West teams and try and get a TV package. Unfortunately that ship has sailed.
New PAC 12, call it the Pacific Atlantic Conference 12 and go after wake Forest , Syracuse, Vanderbilt SMU and Tulane and Memphis from the east. That looks more like a power five conference with AAU status
Here’s who the PAC should be targeting… Now there are many obstacles in place based on current conference affiliations, buyouts, and political alliances, but here we go: CAL Stanford UNLV UTSA Memphis Tulane USF North Texas Texas state Gonzaga St. Mary’s Even if the PAC cannot regain CAL and Stanford, with all the schools listed above, this would most certainly solidify the PAC as the best 5th conference and potentially regain autonomous status with merit.
While this is disappointing news. At least this is still a P5 conference. If the Big 12 can still be considered P5 with the addtion of TCU/Houston/UCF/Cincinnati/BYU then there is no legit argument for the P12 to not be considered P5
@craiganderson8569 I would say the biggest difference is that most big12 schools have recruited at p5 level because they have been in a p5 conference. The only two schools that can say that in the pac is oregon st and washington st. Boise st has been a good football program and deserves to play in a p5 conference, so I hope the new pac gets that status.
since the pac poached those 4 teams....As a UNLV fan....if we're going leave the MW....I would prefer to set our sights on the BIG 12 and do whatever is needed to get that done. Instead of the PAC whatever they're going be. the MW and PAC-12 are a G-5 league. We've proven we can compete with the BIG 12 (see 2 wins against HOUSTON and KANSAS of the BIG 12), UNLV has the facilities, Allegiant stadium, and the capability to host big time games in Las Vegas. I believe UNLV is an up and coming sleeping giant on the west coast.
It's the end of the Mountain West. Combine the two conferences, get two teams from Texas, divide the new conference into two divisions. The Coast division and the Mountain division.

You guys are ridiculous. This is a death sentence. No TV Network is gonna pay us anywhere close to what the P4 are getting, and if you think the Big Boys are gonna continue to let the G6 get an autobid going forward, I have some oceanfront property in North Dakota for you. This is the death of meaningful athletics at OSU and WSU. They will NEVER be anywhere near UW or UO ever again, recruits won't go there, guys who ARE there will transfer ASAP, etc.
Couldn’t agree more. They clearly are drinking that purple kool-aid. The sport will only end up with two power conferences at the end of the day. The bigten and SEC will cherry pick a few more teams from the big12 and ACC and that’s its. No team from this pac will ever be in a relevant conference again.
You're way off here! It the best league on the West Coast! Those time slots will be worth $$ an it will be a very competitive league. Look at most leagues their worst teams are not better than these teams. Lots of talent wants to stay on the West Coast very few get 5 star offers to USC and Oregon. Look up not down bro
Time will tell, but as a Beaver fan, I’m not jumping up and down with joy. Thought they should have waited to see what other fallouts and options might have opened up with future conference realignments. Will need to add a few more higher level programs to be taken seriously.

North Dakota St isn’t a big enough market, otherwise why not just bring in Wyoming? They already have good teams, only thing bringing them down is the state population being less than a city in California or Texas or really anywhere else. And SJST is usually at the bottom of the MW in every sport, so they’ll just bring down the competitiveness needed for marketability. Kudos to Mike Yam for offering his services for this most important video. He made it a great show to watch with his skills.
