No matter what song he does or who he does it with, (Willie, Trey, Carlos Santana, Dickie Betts, Del McCourry etc, etc etc,)Billy Strings never seems out of place or context. He is dialed in to the right things in music. Pop music will come and go, but you will be listening to this guy 40 years from now. He is a timeless talent with mad respect for who came before him.

He stole this old hippie’s heart with his mastery of all the old school rock’n’roll. The Dead, Allmans, Hendrix, et. al. Then I found out he was a scholar of all the best bluegrass stars of the 20th century.

The Fitz normally stopped at a mill in Silver Bay, Minn., but on this particular day, picked up its load at the Burlington Northern Railroad Dock No. 1 in Superior, Wisconsin, so use of the word "mill" in the song is probably erroneous. Also, while most of the lost crew were from Ohio (14) and Wisconsin (8), two were from Minnesota.

Every Nov. here in Mich. this song is played as if on a non-stop reel. Surprised Billy can even stand hearing the song. Now that he moved out of Mich maybe he’s homesick.
