Hello Ali, X-ray and CT technologist here! I do scans on people on a regular basis for the exact same thing. The majority of people I scan are low risk like yourself and just have to get follow ups every few years to make sure the spot is not growing. I’m so happy to hear that they were able to get you taken care of and lessen your worries! Prayers that this nodule stays just how it is so you can live a long healthy life! ❤️
Allie I have COPD . They sent me for a chest x ray and then a CT . They found 2 nodules in one of my lungs.I went again the following year and they found another one which was smaller then the others, but the other 2 didn’t change. So I’ll be going again soon to see how the 3 of them are doing .I see a lung specialist and lung surgeon. I’m in good hands and they tell me I’m not to worry that we will just keep up with test every year ! It’s been 3 years and I’m 71 and doing good. So don’t worry sweet girl, you’ll be fine ! ❤️🙏🏻
I'm happy you are ok! 6 years ago I had kidney stones. An x-ray was taken, and they found a small "lump" in one of my kidneys. It was cancer, but because they found it so early they could just operate it out, no chemo or radiation. I feel so lucky, and very grateful I got that kidney stone! 6 weeks after my surgery the stone came out, it had done its purpose!
You are from utah and radon is a huge issue here. So glad you went in. My hubby was diagnosed with cystic lung disease that was found at 34. please wear a respirator mask when dealing with remodeling and dust to protect those lungs.
My sister had lung cancer and it was related to asbestos that caused her tumour. She had not been in contact with any asbestos but her husband had been doing some renovation for a friend at an older house and they think that he may have had some asbestos dust on his clothes and when she was sorting his laundry she often gave his clothes a shake before putting them into the washer. They think that she must have breathed in the dust and it caused her cancer. She had her lung removed and did chemo and radiation but she passed in December 2021. It doesn’t take much to start cancer growing. My sister didn’t smoke and was very health conscious. Asbestos is very dangerous and should always be removed by professionals. I’m happy you are safe and well. Take care.
I was just told after having a chest exray that I have a nodule in my long. I have to have it looked at every so often. Right now it is to small to worry about. I also have some in my throat. I had those biopsies and they were not cancer. So happy you are cancer free. ❤️
I am 24, have 7 nodules on my thyroid and 2 in my lung. My doctor swore up and down they are not cancer. When you say throat, are you referring to your thyroid?
Hi, you may like to re-think your stance of wait and see approach. The doctors discovered a 6mm nodule in my lung through scans for another condition and I was deemed to be low to no risk for lung cancer. I had no symptoms at all, but I still chose to have it removed and tested since a biopsy of such a small nodule was challenging. The histology report of the removed nodule came back after and it was positive for cancer. I was fortunate to have chosen to take an active approach to deal with it than watch and wait because it was caught early at stage 1. This is your life. You need to decide if its worth the risk to wait. Time is everything in cancer. Lung cancer prognosis is often not good because it is mostly discovered at later stages with no symptoms. I wish you all the best.
Thank goodness you’re cancer free. I also experienced having low energy. I started different vitamins and it helped tremendously. Maybe if you’re not already take vitamins. I take B12, A, D, calcium I’m thinking about E. and at night I take magnesium. It truly has helped me in many ways. Big hugs for you. ❤
My Dad had Renal cell cancer, he didn't know he had cancer til he slipped and fell in the parking lot and had blood in his urine. They removed the kidney, because there was a tumor on the outside of the kidney and took out as many nodes as they could. But the cancer came back . He had tumor on his neck that grew to the point that they could not do anything more for him .Back in the Cancer center on 9/16/1991 .and passed away 10/8/1991.we believe he got his cancer from the work he did with NASA making rocket fuel and all the other things he worked with. He was 57 years old
I am so so sorry for your loss.losing someone important to you is the worst especially at that young off an age my grandfather passed away before I even got to meat him he died at 30 something he passed because off skin cancer and I wish that I got to meat him because he seemed like he was an amazing person
It's great you're doing great. Right now, I am going through health problems. I've been collapsing lately for no reason. So, I got to do a lot of testing. My mom has a nodule in her lung. They told her it was due to pollution and the climate.
They found a tumor in my right leg in the bone above the knee when they were looking for the cause of why my kneecap pops out of place, when I was 16. I was scared to death, because I had only heard tumors meant cancer.. and I had recently lost my Grandma and Uncle to cancer.. I thought I was next. After a few MRI's turned out it was thankfully benign! Prayers your nodule stays benign or goes away!!
I have A LOT of those little something in my body. First time one was discovered, there was the same heavy cloud of fear with my family and friends as you have experienced. All was well after it was discovered: just fat cells. My body likes to store fat in small ball shaped pieces all over my body. Despite having an overall healthy and pretty sporty body, my body still does this for whatever reason. Keeping you and your family in prayers. Blessings and greetings from Germany (Sorry for this vague description, but my medical experience and english vocabulary to describe it is pretty limited)
I have holes in my lungs and my last xray the holes are even bigger so I made the choice to change my self because I was a smoker and now I have quite smoking because of my lungs I was smoking because of my depression but I am now stable and I love watching you alie and Andy you make me feel happy and also I enjoy your video 😊❤❤❤❤
I had a shadow on my lung long time ago, and I went for a cat scan too and it turned out to be nothing. As for intervenes they get 1 try and that's it ! And God forbid if the move that needle while it's still in my arm trying to find a vein after they miss they get knocked out. You're in my prayers Allie.
Yes. In 2015 they saw a pituitary tumor. They did test and i was in hospital for a couple of days. I still have it andits nothing to worry about. Its caused by medication i took (neuroleptica "risperdal"). I do have symtoms, my hormons is crazy. I sweat for nothing or sometimes im cold. Now i always sweat in the nights. I havent looked that up. My mum died in lungcancer 1996. Her symtoms was pain in the chest. She smoked. Take Care Allie and update us. You will be just fine.
I am 25, 2 nodules were found indecently in my left and right lung during a CT scan of my chest for something unrelated. My doctors have swore up and down this isn’t cancer. I can’t let it go. I get u.
Trust your gut and get a 2nd set of eyes on those scans. Also know that some lung cancer patients never get a cough. Listen to your bod. [And what do you mean by "indecently"?]
@@5Gburn incedentally means that they found something unrelated then what they were looking for. I got a chest CT for something else and they incidentally ended up finding the nodules,
I have five nodules, three in one lung and two in the other. I was never a smoker, not once. I was a fire fighter though. Nodules have a few possibilities, one being scar tissue. I have had three sets of pulmonary embolisms in the past ten years. BTW no needles stay in your body unless they are drawing blood. IVs are inserted with a hollow needle that leaves a very small flexible tube in a vein under the skin but it shouldn't hurt. Please do not fail to have a follow up scan of your lungs when the doctor suggests it be done. I get a scan every six months. Glad you are OK. ❤
I hope this help I also have a nudie on my lung it was so scery mine it sadly a grower it start at 3m it now 6m getting another scan soon and hopefully it not grown more if so then I need surgery I now it not a big deal as medical is advised here but I have children so thought of being away from them makes it hard I love that u shares this I feel less alone
I’d still have a general surgeon take it out no matter what. It’s better to be on the safe side of things and it can be taken to pathology for testing. My wife’s kidney cancer got caught accidentally and it was just a “spot” that showed up on a CT scan. Surgeon went in to remove the spot, and it was cancer, so the whole kidney got removed.
I have a nodule on my thyroid, which is treated by hypothyroid medicine. I get the feeling from my doctors that it shouldn’t be a problem as long as I continue taking the medication.
If your from Utah we all have these nodules. It's from our polluted air, according to Huntsman's Cancer Institute. Don't worry you will be alright. Love you girl!❤️
I don't like any of that. I have had so many surgeries in my life, i still have them. I freak out. I have had so many CT SCANS, and MRI'S. The MRI'S don't go so well. I have had to get them done with contracts and without contracts, with contracts i got super super light headed and I felt like I was going to get sick for absolutely weeks/months. I have really really bad emetophoiba about throwing up.
I HATE the IV. I have small veins too, my mom and my grandma have it too, its genetic, I would have to agree the IV in the hand is super painful. I'm so grateful that its not cancer!
i had covid in july and i started with having a breathing problem because of it. the doctor wanted me to have a ct done and they found a lump in my left armpit. the doctor then had me do an ultrasound done on my armpit to see more of it. they then had me do a mammogram a week a go to make sure i dont have breast cancer and luckily it came back that i dont have breast cancer. the radiologist went back and looked at my past 2 ct scans that i have had done and there was a lump there and nobody said anything before. i am just happy i dont have breast cancer. i was scared to death waiting to find out.
I've had swollen lymph nodes since having c-shot no. 3. That was 2--wait, 3?!--yrs ago. Now we're looking for cancer (I'm very symptomatic; just had a 100% good colonoscopy, amazingly, and going in for more tests this week). I will say cancer runs in my family, so I'm not *necessarily* blaming the c-shot, but the timing's suspicious af.
It was 2 1/2 sense I was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was fluke how I found out went to E.r for shoulder pain could not raise me arm above my head. But I am free I best it. Glad you do don't have it.
If your scan was dec usually the follow up 3 month scan is from the Ct scan date not appointment date. So you need to have next one soon. Also could it be sarcoidosis. Maybe ask for a rheumatologist. Esp being tired. That could be a concern. You are young. Many young women can handle work and low sleep
I have small veins & it’s hard to get blood. The nurses, etc need to use a butterfly needle. That doesn’t hurt as much. I don’t like needles also. Hope u going to b ok.❤❤❤❤
I had a 15 cm mass on my ovaries. And over 15 lumps in my breasts. Thankfully the ovaries turned out to likely be a cyst, and the lumps were dead fat tissue. However it now makes it hard to check for those issues.
No nodule found, but I did end up having a heart catheterization because of one. They thought my heart looked enlarged and they asked about family history of heart issues. (Dad died of heart attack at 62 and had 7 stents at that point. His dad died at 50 from heart issues.) I already had high blood pressure and cholesterol so they kind of freaked out. Everything checked out fine thankfully.
Hi allie I have nodules on my lungs also ground glass so I have had a few ct scans ,mri scans ,I'm also diagnosed with idiopathic plummonary arterial hypertension
Get a genetic test to rule out Lynch Syndrome (genetic disorder that greatly predisposes sufferers to cancer in general). Also watch The Patient Story's segment with Anne Laporte. Nonsmoker. Her only symptom was back pain. Same size nodule as yours, if I'm remembering correctly. This is not to freak you out, but to make you alert. Get more info, and trust your gut.
Was it because of the asthma that you had to have the x ray and blood test done before the surgery? I've had 8 major surgeries and 1 minor (removal of my tonsils in my nose and throat when I was 2) and I've never had to have chest x-rays done, I've never even heard about that being done before anesthesia, maybe it's a USA thing, I live in Iceland. I'm glad you had them done so now you're aware of this nodule, don't fixate on it just keep an eye on it❤ When you had the CT scan done did you feel the warmth in your throat and in a sensitive area? lol It freaked me out the first time they used the new contrast on me, I thought I had peed myself😂 The only machine that still bothers me is the MRI machine, it's so loud and it's a tight tunnel. Second is the nuclear medicine imagine scanner. The old machine was barbaric, the new one is a lot better and twice as fast, the old one took 3 hours! I have a golfball sized nodule under my chest plate an inch or two below my trachea, it's just fat, I also have a small one in my lower torso. Nothing I need to worry about. Every time something abnormal is found in my body I get scared that I have cancer again. I had cancer 41 years ago when I was 6 and I still remember the horrible physical and emotional pain of the treatment. The radiation treatment almost killed me as it caused my intestine to melt together into a clump and they became paralyzed. During the surgery my heart did stop but they managed to get it beating again but they were so sure I wouldn't wake up again that they just closed up my abdomen without sewing my muscles together again so I can literally feel good going through my intestine with my hand, I can also touch my spine through my abdomen. My body healed itself, the surgeons did manage to fix my intestine before they decided to call it quits and just close me up. There is a lot of cancer in my families. On my dad's side all of my grandpa's brothers died from cancer in the digestive system, 2 of grandma's siblings have cancer, my aunt passed away from cancer and my dad had brain cancer. On my mom's side grandma lost 2 sisters to cancer and both my mom and her sister had malignant tumors that were removed in or near the brain. My aunt passed away because of the brain injury the tumor caused to her brain.
I don’t know if this will help you at all for next time if you ever possibly need a needle(cannula) I also have small veins, so when I have to get a cannula the hospital I go to uses a child sized one, this way they don’t have to keep trying to get the larger one in.
I can feel, for I just had a follow up CT scan for a node on my left lung. They just gave me the results, they think it's a hamartoma. I had a biopsy of it last year, it did not seem to be cancer, but they want to want sure it's not growing. Have they done a biopsy on your lung node?
Hard agree! I hate needles like a mofo, but going in for an abdominal + pelvic CT and will probably have a colposcopy done (no one thinks so bc of my avatar and handle, but I'm female). Point being, push until you get a definitive answer--or at least get a 2nd opinion.
I have a nodule that is on my right lung and they have no idea what it was from it was bore COVID so who knows but it's never gotten any larger and never had any problems. I too have asthma so they think that it just could be from scar tissue from that.
I have a blood clot in my left lung they did chest xray but it dosnt show up on an xray its mainly blood test and ct scan now im havjng to jnject myself with needles to prevent anymore bloodclots and clear the blood clot i have its a scary thing
I workin a pulmonary office for lung u can have nodules due to the area and different microorganisms that grow in the soil u not being a smoker I’m sure you will be okay but always that small chance it can be cancer without not history

My left arm only works for blood tests, the right arm never works. Please get yourself tested regularly done ❤❤ hopefully the shallow goes away ❤❤
Drink plenty of water before getting needles it helps a lot
My wife aunt had a nodule after the c shot. She’s now in a study to see if it was connected or there from some something else

Yeah I have no tonsils either.
My mum made doctors remove mine when I was like 4 or 5 as I got sick a lot.
I have 4 nodules in my thyroid, 3 years now. I am getting my thyroid removed soon. I see surgeon in April.

Not a nodule but a bilateral pulmonary embolism 2 blood clots in my lungs one in each lung caused by birth control
I would get a second opinion.
Amen to that. So many people being diagnosed with cancer.
praying 🙏🏼 ❤🫂
How old are you may I ask? I’m not sure if u mentioned in the video, I defiantly am going to need an update on your health.
my veins are deep in my arms, the ones closer too surface in my arms are experts at playing marko polo with the docs and nurses.
No 😢
Me with my anxiety I wouldn’t be able to just let it be forever
Was it because of the asthma that you had to have the x ray and blood test done before the surgery?
I've had 8 major surgeries and 1 minor (removal of my tonsils in my nose and throat when I was 2) and I've never had to have chest x-rays done, I've never even heard about that being done before anesthesia, maybe it's a USA thing, I live in Iceland.
I'm glad you had them done so now you're aware of this nodule, don't fixate on it just keep an eye on it❤
When you had the CT scan done did you feel the warmth in your throat and in a sensitive area? lol
It freaked me out the first time they used the new contrast on me, I thought I had peed myself😂
The only machine that still bothers me is the MRI machine, it's so loud and it's a tight tunnel.
So Sad😢
I don’t know if this will help you at all for next time if you ever possibly need a needle(cannula) I also have small veins, so when I have to get a cannula the hospital I go to uses a child sized one, this way they don’t have to keep trying to get the larger one in.
I can feel, for I just had a follow up CT scan for a node on my left lung. They just gave me the results, they think it's a hamartoma. I had a biopsy of it last year, it did not seem to be cancer, but they want to want sure it's not growing.
Have they done a biopsy on your lung node?
I’m sorry but I wouldn’t be happy with this. I’d want a biopsy. I wouldn’t be able to rest!
I have ulcers in my esophagus a hiatal hernia and i have had gallstones but got my gallbladder removed
I have a blood clot in my left lung they did chest xray but it dosnt show up on an xray its mainly blood test and ct scan now im havjng to jnject myself with needles to prevent anymore bloodclots and clear the blood clot i have its a scary thing
We would like to see you do Princess Leia videos❤
I have a calcified spot on one of my lungs…but no nodule
