    my dad was in the 83rd id could never understand but now i do said it was an adventure and he was just plain lucky, also always said the germans were proffessional soldiers, talked alot about patton an d the big storm off normandy

      My grandad was a scout sniper in the 83rd. Shot in the lung. Said he threw a hand grenade under a german taking a shit. He also found one the concentration camps. Cane home and raised a big family.

    Greatest generation for sure, many were 18 year old kids. 3 of my uncles were over there. One was in the 83rd, one in Africa, another a POW that finally was rescued!

      My grandfather survived and made it home...I am trying to research as much as I can where he was and what he saw. I only wish I had some of his things from service.

    Why do we always see the American version. I would very much like to see how the Germans defended against the attacks.
